  1. Oh yeah, The Fury has some wild moments, three in particular: one at a mall, one character's extremely bloody and sudden death, and that final scene (WHOA!).
  2. And next Monday we get Way of the Gun and The Duellists. I didn't know anything about the former so Wiki'd it and it's interesting; Christopher McQuarry had just written The Usual Suspects and ran afoul of execs who didn't give a shit about someone who wrote one of the best scripts ever putting out something equally good. Hollywood sucks. And The Duellists of course is Ridley Scott's first film, which is completely awesome. A blood-and-thunder version of Barry Lyndon with an obsessed Harvey Keitel? Sign me up for a rewatch!
  3. I love how it ends with one of them just doing a little front roll on the stage for no reason whatsoever.
  4. ULTIMA LUCHA DOS REPORT 8/5/15 MAFUCKAS~! I also just wanna say it's been a blast staying up late doing these reports (mostly in real time) and I hope you guys have enjoyed reading 'em. And that I really hope Matanza doesn't end up being Abyss.
  5. Yeah I had to crank the volume on multiple occasions and actually did think about putting on the subtitles, but thought it'd distract too much. Me being half-deaf didn't help either. If I watch it again it'll be with some friends some time down the road.
  6. Eyes Without A Face will STILL fuck you up 55 years later. Bite probably just got a couple wusses with sadistic friends that gave them a couple drinks and brought them to the screening because they knew they'd do something bad... kinda like Jackass 2. But I still wanna watch it!
  7. According to TMZ the funeral is closed but the family has requested a national moment of silence during it at 10:30 AM, August 12 (I believe that's the correct date).
  8. I should mention she is a young Asian woman in the break room of a grocery store. Ruler Foods is its own form of Freedoms
  9. Dean, if you haven't seen the match in Freedoms where Masada power bombs some poor bemasked man on a car, go find it. Or somebody else. I'm at work eating my lunch before I start my shift reading all this on the phone and I think the trainee on the computer is getting weirded out from the laughter.
  10. Damn, if that isn't a guarantee that I have to see it I don't know what is. Only time I ever heard anyone barf at the theater was Jackass 2 ("Don't puke on me, bro!").
  11. Huh, now I wish Bret Hart wrestled Bobby Eaton. Again, matches you never thought you wanted to see...
  12. Terry Funk vs. Wahoo McDaniel sounds like the best matchup you never thought about. WHY DO I HAVE TO LIVE IN THE STICKS AND HAVE LIMITED NET ACCESS?!?!
  13. I'm kinda surprised we haven't done an overall "best tag teams" tournament considering we've already done "best dead tag teams" one. I'd participate in that for sure, but we all know it'll end up with a final bracket of Demolition vs. Gordy/Hayes with Demolition winning. Maybe. (For the record, I'm Jumbo/Tenryu all the way, unless we get more footage of Bockwinkle and Stevens in the future)
  14. Ron Funches just had the best bit on The Meltdown on Comedy Central that I think we can all relate to. I'll paraphrase: The delivery just killed it. Now I know why he went onto @Midnight dressed like this
  15. I don't want to sit through it again because it's so damn long but I got some serious laughs out of it. Seeing Benicio Del Toro show up as another lawyer in another stoner flick was nice and the scene in the restaurant with him and Joaquin had me rolling trying to figure out just what they ordered.
  16. Pumpkin beer is nasty. And I'm someone who had a daily diet of Steel Reserve for about six months a couple years back
  17. Watched Inherent Vice today. Man, that film is horny. Really horny. I don't know that I've ever used that adjective to describe a film (hell, a lot of porno can't even go by that though it's meant to get you off), but that one... whew. Not really what I expected but most everything in that film is not what me or anyone else might expect.
  18. Racism, cocaine, steroids, his daughter, his ex-wife Oh and wrestling fans' tolerance for his bullshit EDIT: Biggest opponent of all! THE DUMPSTER FIRE THREAD
  19. Chris Hardwick brought up Roddy in context with Ronda Rousey tonight on @Midnight and got some great applause. Then I watched the Raw video. Goddammit. That's it, I'm watching the dog collar match. (pause for viewing) I watched it and that match is so goddamn balls-out. They weren't kidding in the interview about laying into each other. Some of the forearms from Greg and his tremendous elbow drops, wow. Roddy selling like Terry Funk the entire time and punching like him too. Man, that's the cream of the crop right there. Sgt. Slaughter vs. Iron Sheik is right after this on the DVD and I'm gonna see how the blood and the heat compete.
  20. July is over and now it is time to REVIVE! RESURRECT! (if you weel) the Metal Thread. Divine Eve from Texas have amazingly decided to bring themselves back from the dead so this is fitting. This is also more Celtic Frost than anything you might hear not played by Celtic Frost. It isn't as good as this but I'll take what I can get.
  21. I'm a fan of busting pumpkins. Went on a rampage and destroyed about fifteen or twenty when I was a kid, actually. EDIT: This was on a single street btw. Rich people and their artful seasonal porch decorations...
  22. The Director's Chair: Michael Mann is coming up. They have to be reading this thread. HAVE to.
  23. Ex Machina was fucking awesome. I just wish In any case, it was a stellar film.
  24. I can't find it but Piper vs. Jack Brisco in I believe Georgia doing amateur work on the mat was so awesome. If anyone has a link to that I'd love to see it again.
