MAY 2017 WRESTLING PHOTOS THREAD
Curt McGirt replied to The Natural's topic in The PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
Damn, that's the first time I've seen Nakanishi since his title reign. -
He had a tendency to do that. Esteban in Kill Bill Vol. 2 was another one. Speaking of which, this is something I've always wondered: did Beatrix kill him or let him live? He did draw her the map.
-
Immediately said "FUCK YES" when I read that first line, but then... no Karl Urban? C'mon, he's gotta be in it.
-
That's scene's where I got the $6 Jack reference from. Shame the whole thing isn't available in one clip online.

Ah yes, I forgot about when he jumped over the top and his knee shattered. After that he went to Amarillo and stayed at the Double Cross for awhile to heal up. BTW, he wasn't plancha-ing on somebody, he was just making his exit and the floor was wet. Knee shattered on impact. In his book Terry Funk said the X-rays looked like a spider web. -

Swagger/Cobb and Swagger/Elgin are two hoss battles that sound awesome. And what is up with Elgin's eyes? I had a friend that got ice kicked into his eye playing soccer when we were kids and it made it look like that, he wore a contact after that to even them out. -
Shows how much I've paid attention to Maru in the last decade before he hit NJ

Yeah, just like the first time (remember the Hayabusa match?). I'd just like to see Onita lose honestly. -

Okay, that's a little bit better. You know he's still not gonna do the job though -

So, Tenryu chooses the hottest guy in Japan to job to on his way out. Onita chooses a mild attraction -- at best -- to beat after the guys power bombs himself four times for him. Got it. -
Goddammit. Might just have to grab some Jack tonight, and it sure as shit won't be six dollars. RIP

Greatest Horror of All Time - where to begin?
Curt McGirt replied to RIPPA's topic in MOVIES: BEST OF...
I agree with J.T.'s logic (and he didn't even mention the Godzilla noise the truck makes going off the cliff, emphasizing its status as a monster) but those two movies will have their votes no matter what. I'm giving mine to something like House by the Cemetery, which is my second favorite ghost movie and third favorite zombie movie ever. -

Prince of Darkness is def. making my list. It's probably the most underrated Carpenter film ever -- even In the Mouth of Madness gets more praise. Well, okay, Vampires is more underrated but it's not as good as Prince. The balls on THIS guy! I can go Nightmare City or Cannibal Apocalypse, but Night of the Zombies is stretching it. (and I love that movie btw haha) -
I'm surprised nobody mentioned this guy yet either
-
I loved that whole episode, but this is what it was setting up to EDIT: Riffing off of is what I meant to say. It was late, I was drunk etc.
-
Oh, I agree. But if they did, Ruby would win. Idris is still gold though.
-
Ruby wins though. "I will leave you" is one of the moments in that movie that guts you and makes the movie better than it really is.
-
I think his glasses need to be bigger in that case.

NJPW Dominion 2017. Contains Wrestling Dontaku 2017 spoilers.
Curt McGirt replied to The Natural's topic in JAPAN
That is a brilliant thought. If anyone can make a fucking lumberjack match work, it's him powdering anybody at ringside. And actually the absurdity of the gimmick happening in Japan is fun. Now I want Gedo to book a Bunkhouse Stampede where Bullet Club and Ingobernables get to bring all their shit with them to the ring and use it on each other, so in six months I can hear Jim Ross have an apoplectic fit on commentary. -

I honestly think of that more as sci-fi/action despite the gross effects. It won't make my list probably. Call it the Terminator Principle. -
Well, so much for my double feature idea And speaking of split second cameos like in the trailer I posted, did I just see Big Dave?
