  1. In Justin's spirit, I should mention that Daily Grindhouse is reviewing a different Xmas horror flick every day this month, meaning there are at least 31 of them (and that I should have picked one). EDIT: Advent calendar! That's what they're doing. I couldn't remember the term earlier.
  2. The only good TMIV match was against MEN's Teioh. That is literally all he has going for him.
  3. It's so stupid. Is it because he was in WCW? Akiyama is the better choice by a country mile.
  4. I've never seen him NOT splatter someone with the Rolling Thunder. Funny how a guy who can barely work a kick has some of the shittiest punches ever, though.
  5. Kudo/Oz rules but I still stand by Kudo/Combat as thee standard bearer for all Joshi death matches. Fucking harrowing, that one. Thanx for the tag I'll check that later EDIT: and thank you Rippa for the other tag! Got a lot to watch tonight...
  6. 18 YEARS IN THE MAKING... NEW MYSTIFIER
  7. I must've seen every episode of ER as a kid with my parents and all I remember is frenetic scrambling and people being moody outside the hospital. Also, I keep wanting to like Batman Returns, and will give it a couple minutes on TV every couple years -- but that movie suuuuuuucks. You've got Danny DeVito eating somebody's fingers and that's it.
  8. Not a very... good... idea...
  9. Speaking of Verne's territory: I was reading an old DVDVR and thought to myself "I don't think I've ever actually seen any Bock/Stevens matches". So here's these for watching later
  10. The Ascension would be great on Impact.
  11. I had (it is long lost) a $5 copy of Seven Doors of Death but it seemed identical to my VHS bootleg of The Beyond besides the actual title card being a freeze-frame of the background fire with "Seven Doors of Death" over it in cheesy video font. This was the cover: Is it the same one thou speakest of?
  12. USA revoked their going over on time which is why everything is ending on time now
  13. Everyone's forgetting about the existence of Shark Tsuchuya (sic?). Personally, I always hated Yone, even in BattlARTS. Young Marufuji too. And fucking OGAWA (the AJPW one). Ugh...
  14. Exactly. It's not so much that McNulty is disliked because he's a bad person -- yes, he is a poor father, a horrible husband, and a raging alcoholic, but he has a heart of gold and everybody knows that. That however is the problem. He makes people do things they don't want to do. The BPD is full of the lazy, the corrupt, the outright wicked, and consequences be damned he will make them sing for their supper. That's why he's hated.
  15. Keep on trucking, it's worth it. You're over the hump now and there's no going back.
  16. The GG doc (The Allins) was of equal quality to any of the docs Showtime has been playing... and boy, was it depressing. A good way to look at it is as a "where are they now" sequel to Hated, the infamous GG Allin documentary done as a college project back in the '90s. Merle is still playing bass in the Murder Junkies, having burned through half a dozen singers and doing things as flagrantly cheap and eye-rolling as making art with his own shit to sell on the internet in order to keep the lights on in his huge, densely decorated home*. His mother is still pining for her lost son Kevin, who she clearly delineates was different from GG -- as if they are separate personalities, and may well have been. And of course GG is still dead as a doornail and popular** as ever, his gravestone having been moved long ago after being knocked over by some drunken ass paying the grave a visit. The whole thing is a meditation on loss and grief, as neither of the family members can completely move on from the past, no matter how much you think they might want to. Even Dino the Naked Drummer is still stripping down and smashing the skins, about fifty pounds heavier and living as disgustingly as ever. It's all really sad. GG's mom seems to be a fine woman though and you know Merle is going to survive, even if he has to sell every last stitch of GG's lasting possessions to do so. * Incidentally I saw in his house an identical copy of a piece of Lou Rusconi art for Last House on the Left that is hanging on my own wall. His is probably signed too. ** I accidentally wrote that as "poopular" at first haha
  17. This is where I reiterate how good and underrated Rescue Me was as a show. And since it is Bill Hicks' 57th (would-be) birthday, that Leary still deserves to be flogged for biting his stuff
  18. The gloves are a great addition to that ensemble. How long is it until Jericho joins LIJ in some kind of senior member capacity? He's got all of the qualifications.
  19. You're welcome (I mean, I had to, just in case)
  20. See, I don't know Metal Gear from shit, so I just thought it was Bionic Commando or something. Hell of a Halloween costume though
  21. Yeah, just caught the end of Porndemic (at six in the morning no less) and that is FUUUUUUUUUCKED. Jaw dropping stuff and a strong question of moral integrity in a field that seems to be easily able to avoid it. The Suge doc is gonna be just as crazy, esp. considering he just got sentenced to a ton of years in jail for running over those people.
  22. I'm gonna put this here. Maximum Overdrive is an awesome pinnacle of '80s cinema. A complete masterpiece. Fuck everyone who don't like it. That is all.
  23. It's reminding me of a specific director. Peter Jackson?
  24. Oh you evil person. All of those are probably right. Speaking of AXS and NJ, right before I passed out at 5 AM last night I caught an episode from '15 featuring: - Mauro - Sakuraba (?!) - the Good Brothers (!) - AJ Styles (!!!) - Shibata (awwwww) and my mind melted. How long ago does three years feel? In this case, like a fucking decade. They still had Suzuki calling people bastards and losers so some things never change
