  1. i always thought the idea of that was interesting, but the execution was just off. or maybe it just didn't play as cool as it could've. on a semi-related note, i've been waiting for a heel to be put into a finishing submission hold, but he refuses to tap, so he just punches the referee to get DQ'd instead. don't remember that ever happening.
  2. Kevin Federline was going to be my answer. everything about his WWE run (can we call it a run?) was fantastic. otherwise i'm just going to echo the love for LT/Bam Bam and Big Show/Mayweather. and Mr. T will always hold a special place in my heart, so i'm gonna go ahead and mention the Mania 1 main event.
  3. i only remember her for the ECW "Extreme" Strip Poker game.
  4. i just want the 90s Spider-Man cartoon series to be released on home video. with or without the SpiderMan Unlimited nonsense.
  5. not a Bears fan, but i really need their Defense to stop Drew Brees tonight. i need him to earn >20 pts in fantasy so i can advance to the finals.
  6. that was my favorite cover too, but it also made me sad that there's no way the story has anything to do with that. also, that the Death & Return of Superman probably doesn't even exist anymore due to the Nu52
  7. Ugh. And I'm still trying to get Marth from the last run! i'm not gonna grab them all. i've got 4 from the first set and have 4 i want from this second set. i'm sure i'll pick up more as time goes on, but i'm still not really sure what i'm going to do with them.
  8. stopped at 4 different stores to get the new Amiibos that supposedly came out today. two of said stores had them in stock, but couldn't sell them to me. one store said that there weren't any coming out. the two that had them gave me two different release dates (tuesday and wednesday), and the fourth store said they hadn't received any yet. pain in my ass.
  9. one would think so. if he had won impressively, all of that other stuff would have been overlooked. but my guess is that, is/when Nick gets tooled by Anderson, Nate is gone for sure, with Nick probably "retiring" again.
  10. Pillman's commentary was pretty risque, as well as hilarious.
  11. that statement is true, but Nate has never had anybody purchase a PPV for him. hell, the last time he was even ON PPV was ufc 141 (3 years ago)
  12. my favorite part of that is Vince standing up thru the sunroof in the limo and giving Austin the weirdest looking middle finger ever. i remember it being absolutely ridiculous. and i remember hating that Vader match. Vader is so much better than the shit they were giving him at this point, and really for the last year or so. and i could never stand Bradshaw. double whammy. my recollection is that the triple threat cage match is a lot of fun, but it has been a few years since i've seen it.
  13. whoa, had no idea Stephens/Oliveira and Noons/Cruickshank were on this card. this will be an excellent lead-in to the FOX card on Saturday.
  14. had no recollection of the Heavenly Bodies in the WWF in the mid 90s, but that was at the point where my fandom drifted in and out (depending on if we had cable or not), so not a surprise. But when i ran across tapes later, my jaw dropped that they had a wrestler with the nickname "Gigolo". i wondered if there was a double meaning to the word, as i was only aware of the single definition. then i watched a few match, and all my questions were answered. this, of course, scarred me for life, and coerced me into rooting for JDR for years to come. while i was watching those earlier this year, i was trying to decide if the name "Graffiti" being misspelled was done on purpose or not. by the way, he also wrestled as "Jim Richland" on the 1/4/97 Saturday Night episode. any ideas on why that name was chosen?
  15. that movie is awesome. i always make a Jimmy King CAW whenever i get a wrestling game. WWKD indeed!
  16. WGN featured a show titled WCW Pro Chicago. It featured a weekly studio segment with former Cubs/White Sox announcer Jack Brickhouse called Brickhouse Bonus. whoa, i've never heard of this. i didn't get into WCW until years later so it shouldn't be a surprise, but still cool. it's pretty awesome when they do local versions of programs. i'm watching the 1997 WWF Shotgun Saturday Nights, and whoever uploaded them had VHS copies of the New York feed so it's actually called "WWF New York" or sometimes "Shotgun New York". kinda cool to hear all the call outs to local places like Long Island, or putting over anybody that came from the area and that sort of thing.
  17. RIP recently i watched his role as "Jimmy Graffiti" in '96-'97 WCW and it put a smile on my face.
  18. was rooting HARD for Lawler to win. gave him round 5 for sure and 1 most likely. thought 4 was the closest, but gave that to Hendricks fairly easily. no way in hell should Lawler have been a 49-46 winner. i can't even begin to imagine where the nod from round 2 came from. anyways, outside of a couple major upsets on the Fox card next weekend, i won the UFC 2014 pool between my friends. so i guess i really have nothing to complain about. thanks, Glenn Trowbridge.
  19. A quick search shows me that there was a Finlay/Meng match on the 1/10/98 episode of Saturday Night. I'm still trying to find video though. All that's coming up for me is a Faces of Fear/Blue Bloods match on Nitro and a bunch of WCW hardcore title stuff from 2000 that they were both involved in. i'm downloading the entire episode of Saturday Night. if the match hasn't turned up tomorrow i'll upload the match to youtube probably on sunday.
  20. this doesn't really surprise me. they kept it around in case New52 was a colossal flop. since it has proven to be popular enough (in most cases, sales are up from pre-52), they decided to stop all the speculation and eliminate Plan B. not that i agree with it, but i an see why they're doing it.
  21. watch out, you're becoming a Bat-fan. and Grayson is spectacular. but i actually don't follow the other 3.
  22. and on this note, my 60s Batman tv series set came in the mail today. it is glorious.
  23. we didn't have Prime here, but going thru some of the results, i believe they had the exact same matches as Worldwide, just with different commentary. Worldwide aired late Saturday nights, like 11pm or 1am or something. i loved staying up to catch the matchups and would mark out if Macho Man was on.
