  1. "got kidnapped by Bruce Banner". this can't end well. i'm way too sarcastic to be imprisoned by someone with anger issues.
  2. X-Men '92 #01 came out digitally today. i think i'm in love.
  3. Hulk Hogan apparently thinks he will be the Expendables 4 villain. This apparently doesn't take into account that E4 hasn't even been announced. Or the fact that Hogan can't move. But hey, maybe he can reprise his Rocky 3 role. edit: sorry, apparently my browser hates me and i can't post a link.
  4. damn, Rony Jason is down to the prelims on a Fight Pass card? he was supposed to be a killer in his division just a couple of years ago.
  5. yeah, better than average Fight Pass main/co-main. also, is the Pancrase library up on Fight Pass? it might be time to subscribe
  6. my wife's family has terrible MMA knowledge when it comes to planning camping trips. they've only got two scheduled this year (so far). the first is this weekend (ufc 187) and the other is july 11th (ufc 189). grrr.....
  7. just got a copy of WWE Super Tuesday in the mail. from november 2002. what a fun little show this was. oddly, i haven't been able to find it online for the last couple of years.
  8. yeah, some of those early SSN episodes have a bizarre feel to them. in a good way, tho. and give that dude some credit. his full name was "Fondle Me Elmo"
  9. i have a love/hate relationship with the WCW announce team from the nWo era. on one hand, they speculated about who will turn, possible outcomes for matches, hypothetical matchups, etc. it really made everything seem like part of a bigger picture, with how the fallout from one thing will potentially affect many other things. on the other hand, they did all of that at the expense of matches currently happening in the ring. and they were stupid. "Sting is here! wait, why is he attacking Lex Luger? oh that was just kevin nash in a plastic sting mask"
  10. I'm sure the board will go bananas with this i'm actually quite interested in the japan part. to think that takada wanted a worked match in Pride's debut and instead ended up getting demolished by Rickson Gracie.
  11. also, Mewtwo has become available in the Smash Bros game. so did some new mii fighter costumes, although i doubt many care about them. and the 2nd round of DLC has dropped for Mario Kart 8. man, MK8 is awesome. the new tracks are fun as hell. can't top the Legend of Zelda track from the first batch, but some really fun stuff in here too.
  12. it was an impulse purchase, i really had no interest in following the title, but thought if it tied in decently with the show it could be a fun read. that being said, it wasn't a fun read just because so much stuff happened. like, there were two big threats introduced and eliminated over the course of the issue, so neither one feels like a big deal because you have no sense of scope. it just felt really slapped together and like a waste of time. also, the art wasn't good at all. when you can't differentiate between Coulson and Fitz in a shot of the SHIELD group, there's something terribly wrong.
  13. speaking of theme songs, i find it interesting that the Giant never had one in WCW. he used the Dungeon of Doom's, then the nWo's, then went without a theme song before rejoining the nWo a year later. weird piece of trivia for someone i guess.
  14. picked up a few books today (besides the free ones): SHIELD #1 (based on the tv show Agents of SHIELD). what a mess. they should have called this "Phil Coulson" since it was only about him. the rest of the team barely appears, and the issue is so littered with superheroes that play no part whatsoever. please don't check this one out. Multiversity: Pax Americana. read this online when it came out. loved it. will read it again when i have time to sit down and really dive in to the details. should probably get around to reading the rest of Multiversity too, but haven't made it that far yet. the A-Team #1-3 (Marvel, 1983). i'm a big Mr. T fan. these comics were extremely simplified versions of the tv show. #1 is definitely the best. spoiler alert: BA Baracus gets into a bar fight for drinking a glass of milk. it was awesome. it also shows somebody watching a movie, and based on the quote balloon, they are watching Rocky 3. awesome.
  15. i was going to suggest Colt Cabana submitting some. a new video submission for each gimmick. Colt. Matt Classic. Scotty Goldman.
  16. so, wait. so she's not really an evil Russian? maybe they can pair Roman + CJ on screen. that'll totally help both of them get over, right?
  17. wish it would've been on a FOX card or PPV (even if just the prelims) since that's all i religiously watch, but happy to see her debut is booked.
  18. yeah, but since Reebok has a deal with the whole UFC, Jones will still be a part of it. good stuff.
  19. i remember watching that match (KOTR) and liking it, but i didn't think it was some amazing performance from either guy. after reading his rant, i wanted to go back and watch it again right away to see if i missed something, or if he was just full of himself that night. i don't think i've ever rewatched it, to be honest.
  20. no way. Lesnar would lose in the UFC, making wwe's unstoppable monster look weak. Rousey would win against whoever she's facing, again making wwe inferior.
  21. i check it out every year and use it as an excuse to get friends together. i invite them to the comic shop, host a little party at my place where i provide my comics for people to read, watch some super hero cartoons and stuff, and just kinda do what i can to show people my love for the medium. had a pretty good turnout last year, hoping for something similar this one.
  22. Eh, it's not that hard. Beast is mad at Cyclops. Iceman says something stupid. Beast thinks it's a great idea. Beast has a time machine with a Doom-lock that means he can go back in 616 past without creating divergent timeline and uses it. Beast lies to the O5 about Grown Cyclops causing a "mutant genocide" to con them into coming back with him. oh yes. that clears up everything and it all makes perfect sense now. i'll just stick to not reading X-Men comics. well, at least until that X-Men '92 series based off the cartoon shows up.
  23. They were actually good especially considering that they weren't that many people in the crowd early on. I think Markos has potential, but she needs to work on some of the holes in her game. I think some people were counting Daly out because she ain't the most athletic person in the world. However, she marched Markos down in the second round and gave her some shots back. I think the one thing that benefited Randa on the show was that no one knew she was capable of pulling stuff off. Now people know what her strengths are and can gauge where she is at her weakest. I think you saw signs of that against Daly because I don't this fight would be like that on the show. The Letourneau vs. Rakoczy bout was a nice, little battle but I don't think Letourneau can really compete with the upper half of division. If she was gonna make a case, she would've stopped Rakoczy at some point or at least forced the doctor to stop it. However, I do think she can have some good matchups with some prospects and give us some vital info about where they are at. women's fights were decent. daly showed off some skill but not some world beater talent. markos showed off some strengths but i don't see her being a top talent. letourneau seemed a good bit better than rokoczy but, again, not a world beater. i look forward to seeing most of these women fight again. women's strawweight (which i wasn't interested in when it was announced, or when TUF was airing) is surprisingly entertaining, and i am now constantly looking forward to the fights. in fact, i only watched the fight pass prelims because of the two women's fights.
