  1. Shit, I was only down 6 from the lead last week now. It's 9. At least I'm not CSC. His picks are the worst ever.
  2. Fuck that guy, man. Atheists annoy me so bad that it makes me want to believe in a religion just so people won't think I'm also a condescending douche. Also FUCK YOU to people who can't properly put their shopping carts into the shopping cart corrall at grocery stores. What the fuck is wrong with you you fucking lazy turds? I put a cart up and watched a guy ram his cart into another cart and walk away. He didn't actually put his shopping cart into the other cart, the way they're conveniently designed to be stored. He just kind of hit them and then let them just stay in the area. So that means he actually used approximately the same time and effort to do the job right, but he just didn't care to line his shot up. When shit gets windy, and hey, it's bound to get windy in Chicago, that cart is going to go rogue and smack into your Prius and you'll wonder why someone didn't put the stupid thing up properly. You fucking dunces. Oh and shout out to all the people in this thread with real problems. Red, Kyle, Craig, keep your heads up. And also put your carts away properly.
  3. What if the Bulls find themselves with an aging but dangerous team that has a real shot at a title so long as the players' minutes are carefully managed? I think he would scale it back in that scenario. He was actually scaling it back this year, though pulling back for Thibs probably still sounds excessive to others. Also keep in mind that this wasn't a HUGE problem back in the Bench Mob days. It got worse when those guys got contracts and our depth suffered.
  4. Rey Mysterio is so chubby right now it's fucking adorable.
  5. He just looks a little more physically animated there than usual where he's just yelling his ass off. And his voice is for real. You can hear what he's saying in the nosebleed section of the UC. I think my favorite thing he does is disgustedly say "godDAMN" whenever someone like Boozer fucks up, or they shit the bed after a time out. He's one of my favorite coaches ever, and I never want him to leave.
  6. Tatsu has to be on the card for Royal Rumble, right? If so it's the show I'm most looking forward to watching. Also, on further inspection, I see that Rowan's biggest problem is using the space. He looks unsure and confused as to where he needs to send his opponent, or what corner they need to work in for the spot to get seen. Some guys do it naturally well. It's like Punk is telling him, No that corner over there. Compare that to Roman Reigns who as soon as Seth Rollins was eliminated the first thing he did was drag Rey from the neutral and stuffed him into the turnbuckle opposite Goldust. Then he took a second to figure out a new game plan, after realizing he was all alone. Man there's some great tag psychology going on in the WWE these days.
  7. This might be the year Thibs' heart blows up:
  8. Matt is sucking up to me for something. I don't know what.
  9. I don't think there's any way to say. It's a lot of basketball to miss, that's for sure. But he came back in pretty amazing shape off the ACL tear. The only thing we didn't get to see was if he could shake off a year's worth of rust. There were flashes of it, so it seemed possible. I'm optimistic, but it's kind of pointless to even speculate at this point. As for the team, the gameplan for the Bull's is kind of the same regardless of whether he had played this year or not. Deng will leave. Boozer will get amnestied. They still have to find another all-star level scorer, unless Mirotic is the real deal, in which case he's still coming over in the next year or two. Rose could have played MVP level ball again this year and that would still be the future of the team. So really there's not a whole lot of change in Chicago with the exception that we are officially out of the race this year.
  10. I think this might be a good idea, and I've been thinking about how to implement it. Once concept I had is everyone who wants to have a go, puts their name in the hopper. I randomly draw one name. That person picks a book. We have a set amount of time to read it. All those who participate in the discussion when the thread is opened are put in the hopper for the next discussion. You get to pick a chance to picka book if you discussed the previous book. Of course, past pickers have to wait regardless so that everyone who is participating gets a shot.
  11. RHINO IS FUCKING AWESOME. His matches with Harry Smith were great. His matches with Sandman were some of Sandy's best. I think what I loved about Rhino is that he had this mix of power and psychotics. Shit sometimes he'd actually try and out smart his opponent. This is a fun one: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x54v21_sabu-vs-rhino-ecw-on-tnn-10-22-1999_sport
  12. Hey, does anyone know who Matt Flynn was playing when he became the greatest QB in the history of the Green Bay Packers, setting a single game franchise record of 480 passing yards?
  13. More thoughts as I watch this thing... Too many missed shoulder blocks into the ring post to change momentum. There were a LOT of them. Mark Henry getting psyched up against the barricade, backing into the fans, is a cool touch. I'd pay a million dollars to sit in that spot and yell "HOPE YOU PAID THAT AIR BILL MOTHER FUCKER!" over his shoulder. Ryback is Hercules Hernandez, and I can live with that. I really like his act, and I think he does really well in the ring. The finish to the match was great. Del Rio was good in his match, but it suffered from a story that didn't get sold. Everything that Cena did to beat Del Rio came from him using his arm, which was being worked on the whole time. It's not unlike juniors who work the leg, play it up like a huge deal, and then go on a spring board spree for the finishing stretch. There was a couple of bright spots, like Cena thinking he got the three count and willing to argue about it, or Del Rio getting hyped when the croupd started chanting "Si" Wyatts vs. Punk/Bryan was a pretty good match. I don't see a big problem with Rowan. I like his look, and he can brawl. He's a step behind on some of the timing stuff, but he's wrestling up against two guys who are really great at timing shit out, so it's going to show. Luke Harper fit in perfect, and made the most of his time. He has a Scott Hall-like ability to look spry and agile, but still be a big brawler. He'll be really handy if they keep him protected. Also Punk and Bryan were WAY more engaging to the crowd than Cena. Even the usual mixed-reactions to Cena seemed lackadaisical. Like the Let's Go Cena/Cena Sucks chant. They can't even get into hating him anymore. Meanwhile, they're doing the slow clap in the first couple of minutes after Punk is in a bear hug. Orton/Big Show was just not interesting at all, and I like both of those guys. But what a boring way to end the show. You know what? I think Cena/Orton is kind of poetic. They were two of the biggest stars of the Brand Extension Era, and if they unify these belts, they'll officially close it out. It's not a fresh matchup, but it's an interesting context. Of course it would probably be better for someone newer to be the one to win both belts and and be leader of a new era - but I don't even know what that era would be. WWE feels like it's in transition and isn't exactly sure where it's going. The stories aren't very good, but man do they have a fucking fantastic midcard group of guys, putting on some fun bouts. The only problem is nothing really seems to have any weight, and I don't care who is winning and losing.
  14. It was so sad watching your soul disintegrate Sunday I couldn't even enjoy the Lions losing. Now you're the same bitter fan we all have become. But kudos for lasting longer than I thought you would.
  15. "C'MON REY. HUH? YOU CAME ALL THE WAY BACK FOR THIS? TO GET JOBBED OUT?" - Roman Reigns only speaks the truth. Goddamn Dustin does not give a shit and it's beautiful. He let Swagger and Cesaro knock the shit out of him a LOT. I would not have believed two years ago that Goldust would be back in 2013 doing a 180 Cross Body and not embarrassing himself. Gotta be one of the greatest comebacks of all time. Cody Rhodes is still fucking awesome. Watch his first pinfall attempt on Seth Rollins and see how he fluidly catches Rollins hand to drag him over to the corner. It's like a tactic he's trained to do that injects a bit of "reality" into the match. He's not just taking for granted that Seth Rollins will just cooperate because it's all worked out, he's staying on him. Also, Jey Uso vs. Roman felt like it had that personal HATE, which made me very excited for their eventual World Heavyweight Title feud in 2019. Big E's running splash looks better than his finish. I really want to like him but he's gotta change that shit. I really want to see him wrestle Daisuke Sekimoto. Can we just make that happen? Like with magic?
  16. Okay so everything is up. If people are interested in doing something again, let me know and we'll try to do better.

  21. Wasn't Boston's deal the last few years about waiting until All-star break time before they start looking like contenders? I'd wait until I write off the Nets.
  22. Dewar revealing to me the power to change user titles is a very dangerous revelation.
  23. Tom Coughlin probably deserves a pat on the back for not losing the team and getting their hopes up, before watching them throw banana peels in front of each other.
  24. Since the Kennedy stuff was going in deep, I figured I'd move everything here: http://deathvalleydriver.com/forum/index.php?/topic/1008-kennedy-anniversary-thread/ Carry on about your adventures in cinema. Watched She Done Him Wrong the other night. Mae West has to be one of the most intimidating sexual beings ever. Pam Anderson. Angelina Jolie. They seem kind of approachable. Mae West will devour you and make you feel like less of a man if she wants to.
  25. This was started in the movie thread but I figured it had transcended film and deserved its own topic. Now let's talk about THE UMBRELLA MAN!!!!
