The Northwest has always been into soccer more than the rest of the US dating back to the 70s when the NASL had a strong foothold in Portland, Seattle and Vancouver with the original Timbers, Sounders and Whitecaps clubs. Portland in particular was big on the "alternative" nature of soccer to the point where they came to be known as "Soccer City USA."

Adam Pearce is a weird case for me. I'm glad he exists. I like him a lot. But I don't usually get excited to see his matches. I like Pearce fine, but nothing he's done will ever top the first ROH PPV taping where he suddenly whipped out the Repo Man mask.

Were you on the speech team? I'm super-active in collegiate forensics and Bradley has a history of winning. A lot. Ha! I never did it (would've been impossible as I was a student manager for the basketball team) but my roommate was indeed on the forensics team. (From 1980-2000, we won the American Forensics Association championship EVERY YEAR except 1994-1995.)

Well, of all the "typical City" performances in the world that was the typical City-est. As completely batshit as Cardiff's crowd was, I won't be surprised one bit if they beat a whole bunch more teams they shouldn't this season. They HAVE to make their joint a fortress if they're going to survive.

Yeah, the weather porn has been amazing for this. Says a lot for modern sports technology that even at an ancient barn like Craven Cottage, the field drainage works well enough that they can play at all, much less in as wildly entertaining a match as this has been.

Pretty sure Morrison refused to fight the other guy until they made grappling illegal... and even then he wouldn't fight until they banned knee, elbow and foot strikes as well. So it was an "MMA" fight where punches were the only legal attack. -
