  1. Yea I will pay up to $30 if its larger or a non-retail one that I really wanted. Someone gave me the angry StayPuft that was probably a bit more than that but since I didn't pay for it, I don't count it For the last year I had both the Marvel and Star Wars Funko POP subscription boxes. I don't plan on continuing it for 2017 mostly because I am trying to cut down on things, but it was fun getting a lot of different Funko POP figures. I also got Alduin and Dark Souls 3 figure for Christmas.
  2. Rumor is that Tyrod is being benched just for insurance purposes, like the Redskins did with RG3, and it will be the next coaches decision on if Tyrod is kept next year or not depending on the type of offense they run. I still think they beat the Jets either way, they clearly have given up.
  3. I hope the Bills keep Whaley, I don't think he has done a worse job than other GMs (some great finds, some iffy contracts) and I don't see anyone waiting in the wings that I have faith will do a better job than he has. Last year the Bills had two pro bowlers (Tyrod and Incognito) that no other team seem interested in that Whaley got for cheap, not to mention Hughes. Not every draft pick worked out but overall I think he did an above average job. All indications are that he didn't pick Rex, the owners did, he deserves a chance to do his own coach search and die on his own sword.
  4. They typically just announce them one at a time, the Topps NXT Box just came out a few weeks ago and I think the WM set is being released on February 1st (unless that was just a placeholder date). I wish they wouldn't have so many in one year as some of the non-current wrestlers got repetitive, but I guess they'll do whatever makes them money. Anyway it won't come out until after the WM card set if its like last year so probably early summer.
  5. Even though I asked for lots of cards for Christmas, I got exactly one "box." The box was 2016 NFL Prime Signatures, but the box was only one pack. The pack was guaranteed to have an autograph, so the hope is to get a quality autograph as the boxes are about $40. Well my autograph was shit, player I hadn't heard of and I follow football closely. But I was saved by the printing plate, which is worth more than the box. Here are the cards I pulled:
  6. I'll send ya an invite next year, I have a pretty good memory. No need to kill anyone
  7. I won the DVDVR Money League championship (assuming Tate doesn't score 37 points tonight). I feel like I earned it as I think this is the 4th time all season I led the entire league in points scored for the week, my team wasn't always consistent but I had enough big points getters that I could pull through most of the time. Clay and Baldwin were my saviors this week, so I still scored a ton even though Kelley, Inman, and Ty all under performed. It is nice since the league is a pay league, so I "get" $225. But since I am the one that collected the money, its not as much that I 'get' money, I just don't have to 'pay out' money. Which is also exciting This is my 13th year playing FFL and my first championship, so I am pretty damn happy.
  8. I am going to be doing family stuff until Tuesday so you guys be nice to each other while I am gone. I am leaving Rippa in charge of moderating the thread in my absence.
  9. I certainly disagree with that. A feud doesn't have to have a year build-up or blood to still be a feud. Io/Mayu, Kairi/Meiko, Kairi/Santana, Io/Meiko were all title feuds, maybe we just have different definitions of what a feud is. It has nothing to do with "thinking something will change," Stardom has in the past and currently does have feuds. Momo/Kyona, Io/Mayu, Queen's Quest/Regular Army are all active feuds in the promotion. Stardom is capable of and has feuds, why hoping the tag titles have one also is need for a rebuttal I have no idea. This isn't hoping Stardom changes their identity, just hoping they continue doing what they have sometimes done in the past.
  10. (This thread has never been spoiler-free, so hopefully people that want to stay spoiler-free will stay away from it.) I expected Mayu to lose to Io, I thought that was the right move. The storyline with Io turning on Mayu and becoming evil just started, it would have felt like too fast of a conclusion if Mayu already won the feud and leave Io a bit meandering the next few months since she would have lost her first big match after forming her new faction. I think Mayu is "ready" to be champion but a few more months of overcoming adversity won't kill her momentum any, and she is only 23. I wasn't surprised that Hojo and Bito won the tag titles with Kyoko retiring soon but it is interesting in that they are a pretty new tag team and if they are still going after singles titles too I am afraid the titles won't be defended as often or won't be defended with major programs. Mayu Iwatani hasn't really had a feud leading to a title match with her singles belt the entire time she has had it (except vs. Kagetsu), a feud isn't always necessary but it certainly can help make a match more engaging and interesting. So hopefully Hojo/Bito team at least somewhat regularly while they have the belts so their title matches aren't just random tag matches with little build.
  11. I don't think so. One of the downsides of her being with REINA the first eight months of the year is they rarely make TV, and since I don't find their shows top to bottom very entertaining I wasn't about to spend $20 on a DVD just to see her. Should be better now that she is signed with a new company, she already has worked several promotions that make TV a lot more often.
  12. Don't tell that to New England. Unless they work super fast (which courts never do) its more likely he will get punished next season but not so quick he won't be available in the post season. NFL doesn't usually suspend people with close to that level of speed.
  13. And here is Hana Kimura's title win on 9/18.
  14. I can't imagine not playing Ty after his last two weeks (I have him too), and I am starting Inman. I actually dropped Matthews but I did it late enough that no one else can pick him up before the game. I dropped him so I could grab LaFell. I really want to play Green this weekend but since they have a late start I may not know until game time if he is playing. So LaFell is insurance. Course I still am unsure if I should play Green since I doubt we will know his level of healthy if he does play.
  15. I wouldn't worry too much, Liger seemingly has always had a blank check to wrestle anywhere he wants due to his status in New Japan, ranging from WWE to random US Indies to Michinoku Pro. I think as long as Liger is wrestling he will be affiliated with NJPW.
  16. Its incredibly annoying. As shown above I have no issue buying events from Japan but while some promotions make their events easy to buy (JWP and Ice Ribbon in particular), Sendai Girls' only sells some events that made TV. So there is some hope for that show since it made TV but it seems random. I just wish they sold shows that didn't make TV as well as I really really like their rookies a ton but rarely get to watch them.
  17. The "crazy line" has been crossed, I try not to engage with people that are more than 20% crazier than I am. It is how I have stayed so youthful and positive in life. Anyway, I don't think this will change anyone's opinion of Kyoko But here is the title match where she won the belt:
  18. SEAdLINNNG doesn't run once a month, its just hard to take your 'facts' seriously when some are just objectively incorrect. They have run Korakuen five times in 12 months. If you can't present a case without factually incorrect statements mixed with opinions that can't be proven such as hypothetical event attendances then there is no use in having a discussion. Maybe you should calm down and come back when you have accurate statistics.
  19. See y'all should have picked up Ty last week. Stop sleeping on my main man Ty.
  20. First one is Ice Ribbon, that is Tsukasa Fujimoto climbing around.
  21. Its impossible to know if a promotion is 'successful' without seeing their books and knowing what their goals are. Since Ice Ribbon has been running for ten years and had over 80 events in 2016 (with 25 'making tape') I consider them a successful promotion. Their attendances are low because they run small intimate places, unless you have evidence they don't still make money between tickets and merchandising, you're just making things up to suit your personal taste. They are actually a bad example anyway as both of their Korakuen Hall shows had over 900 (I could only find one announced attendance listed but the other looked about the same) and they had 1,500 for their anniversary show which is larger than any event by JWP, Stardom, or WAVE. Bringing up SEAdLINNNG at all as a 'successful' business model puts your argument in dire straits since they only run every other month and have never had an attendance as high as Ice Ribbon's highest for the year. Again, because a promotion isn't your cup of tea, doesn't mean they aren't successful or accomplishing what they want to accomplish. Just don't watch them, but pretending like they aren't successful because you don't like them makes for a weak argument.
  22. I don't like Ozaki-gun matches as I don't like the match style, but I've accepted that is their style so I don't watch them expecting them to suddenly change that style. I just don't watch the main events Not everyone likes the same things in wrestling, I seem to have accepted that better than most other fans.
  23. Stardom has been using gaijins forever, I don't think that's for us. If it was they'd be flying in Americans, not Europeans that most fans haven't heard of. It would be Heidi and LuFisto, not Courtney and Lizzy. Stardom World is catered to US fans but not the product itself any more so than usual since I am assuming the bulk of their revenue is still tickets/merchandise and not SW. Stardom World with subtitles is a side way to make money, not what drives the show. Stardom is never going to change their show philosophy because of American fans. Like he said above, enjoy it for what it is or don't watch it, that's the way they look at it.
  24. I uploaded a few of the main events but I am too lazy to do entire shows.
  25. I'm actually not Stardom's biggest fan, at least I wasn't from like July to November, felt stagnant. I do like some of the things they are doing now though and I like the January gaijins coming over. But I don't go out of my way to find things to hate either like arguing over a hypothetical, the fact is the very small vocal American fan base (some of which aren't even signed up to Stardom World) isn't what dictates their decisions, they have much bigger fish to fry. Stardom likes having fans globally since that equals money but its not a priority to cater to American fans. Its fun to talk/debate Joshi but I think its important to keep in mind that nothing Stardom does on their shows is for us, we have to just watch it as it is or move on to a different promotion. I mean Oz Academy has been pissing me off for years but they don't give a damn about my opinion
