  1. The first remake had an Aperaham Lincoln reference maybe the next one will have an Ape Ruth or Apeolf Hitler. They're taking it a little more seriously this time. More science fiction and less "sci-fi."
  2. Is it too much to ask that, when Sting inevitably shows up in front of a live WWE audience, he be announced by Gary Michael Cappetta?
  3. They say it's a completely new character. Scratch that, here's more from Aaron today. http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=54083
  4. They say it's a completely new character.
  5. Batista interview in which the big, bad internet-hater talks about how much of a geek he is. http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=53916
  6. Oh yeah, Ambrose is doing his job, the crowd just isn't biting. Yet? Seeing how bad Cody is at Stardust makes me appreciate Goldust more than I ever have.
  7. That seems to happen a lot. I'm not sure Ambrose or Reigns are as over as a lot of people think they are.
  8. Have you learned nothing. There's always Plan B. Unless you work for Hobby Lobby! I don't have a GIF.
  9. But that scene does not instill in me a confidence in Batista's acting ability. I didn't see that "Iron Fists" movie he was in.
  10. I think an explanation is required, yet sadly none would be satisfactory. Rey doing a spanish language Trident gum commercial in 2012. UNSATISFACTORY
  11. Seems like an easy enough statistic to look up, if you're really curious and not looking to use anecdotal evidence to illustrate a potentially spurious point.
  12. I think an explanation is required, yet sadly none would be satisfactory.
  13. I meant you don't need to spend MORE money. With budgets that large, there's no reason to go throwing cash at other studios to make them even BIGGER.
  14. But would, say, Avengers 3 make enough additional money with Spider-Man to cover the cost of acquiring it? More than it would make without him? If it costs $500 million to buy the rights (total pull it out my ass figure), will Avengers make more than $2 billion to compensate? There's not much room for improvement above "third highest grossing movie ever."
  15. And if Guardians does comparable business to recent Spider-Man movies, it proves they don't need to spend money to make money. Forget that, as long as it doesn't flat out bomb, it'll show the people in charge that they can sell ANYTHING, even without brand recognition. The studio only cares about dollars, not iconography or nifty Marvel Team-Ups.
  16. Disney really has no incentive to buy the Spider-Man film rights. They've already shown they can use the properties they DO have and make the third-highest grossing movie EVER. Also remember the studio's famed penny-pinching, even with actor salaries. "It would be cool" is not a justification to studio execs. If it ever happened, it would be a mercy purchase, like when Vince bought WCW. Throw 'em a few pennies, then make millions off the property.
  17. And they still called her fat.
