  1. If anything, WWE should get rid of their tag belts and make tags special attractions.
  2. You're the guy who wants everything ROH OFF TV! ?
  3. Soooooo is SPIKE DUDLEY gonna get a payday??? Takeshita is awesome.
  4. Is there a way to know the +7 (i.e. DVR) numbers? I wonder if those have gone up to compensate, and the overall number of eyeballs hasn't changed much.
  5. That everyone isn't seeing this argument as pure insanity baffles me. Hangman is IMMENSELY over with the live crowds, to the point that the disappointment with his heel promo was audible. Alvarez said something smart (I know, I know) about this. When Bret and Hennig had to fight at King of the Ring, and they were both babyfaces, they found a reason for Curt to work heel that night, and then everyone reset and moved on. Punk worked heel against Kingston and came back, now Page is working heel against Punk. If the argument is that Punk should be taking the heel role again, instead, I probably agree. If the argument is that Page will remain heel in the aftermath -- dare I invoke the terrible words -- let's wait and see. I think and hope he'll come back to us.
  6. Respectfully, recent weeks have shown that DAX HARWOOD is the best Robert Gibson ever.
  7. Pillman's had plenty of chances, and plenty of time to develop. Our friend JR would confidentially tell TK it's time to cut bait.
  8. He's one of the reasons I'm squeamish about intergender wrestling. When he does it, it looks like he lays it in a little too much, and almost gleefully so.
  9. Hasn't it been said he helps get celebrities ready to wrestle? That's a WWE job that's as ironclad as any.
  10. Well that's just it, right? A song is a predetermined arrangement of notes. Pointing all this out is highlighting that wrestling is a predetermined arrangement of moves and countermoves, with the wrestlers (or instruments, if you will) working together and not against each other. And it wasn't just a few spots here and there. Dean's post shows that pretty much the whole match was cut-and-pasted. Again, I personally loved it! Like a cover song medley that flows together without you even realizing it. But that's the exact opposite of trying to make it seem like a legit competition.
  11. I think sports teams are more concerned with winning than being cute. ? And the defense doesn't play along. ? Plus, wrestling is supposed to be catch-as-catch-can. You take what you can in the moment. Everyone's got a plan until they get punched in the mouth, etc. To clarify, *I'm* personally fine with it. Just a weird disconnect.
  12. Wasn't Nitro still doing pretty decent ratings, compared to the rest of TV, when AOL shut WCW down? Aren't ad rates for wrestling STILL lower than what their ratings should demand? Some people just think wrestling is scummy and weird, and want nothing to do with it. Sure money talks, but a whim can change anything. Not every decision in the TV business is rational.
  13. So ... I think all those callbacks in the FTR match are neat, but does anyone else find it weird that the "serious wrestlers" are so blatantly telling the world "this is all fake"? I wonder what the guys they revere think of the choreographed homages as opposed to them just having their own match.
  14. This will truly be the most unjust of all worlds if Discovery thinks wrestling is too embarrassing to have on, while keeping all the awful pseudoscience bullshit they peddle across their brands. I'd say it's a coin flip at this point.
  15. Kingston's DEATH REY shirt is the best wrestler in AEW. YOUR MOVE CLAUDIO
  16. Jungle Boy seemed off tonight. Slow.
  17. Has someone let Nigel know???
  18. Honestly, I think Punk would go back before Moxley. If Punk thought he only had two years left and they offered him $10 million? Moxley, on the other hand, didn't even look at his final contract offer. Huge money is about the only thing WWE can offer people these days, and that's not a factor for him.
