So Luke Kuechly - as predicted by moi, your boy Veeg - got DPOY which I'm fine with. Riverboat Ron got coach of the year, and I know it's based on the regular season and I know he did a lot, but I just don't see it. They had more than one moment of dreadful coaching this year - they were 1-3 to start, lest we forget - and they were horrendously coached against SF in the playoffs. Frankly, I don't think he did the best coaching job in their division, much less the league. Now, if there was a defensive coordinator of the year award, I'd be all about McDermott winning that.

She was no great shakes in Groundhog Day, either, but not bad enough to derail the film.

And in Pulp Fiction, and I assume in Sukiyaki Western Django.... Although my brother and I constantly say "you don't have to tell me how good my fucking coffee tastes" to each other. So there's that.

Was watching random old-ish matches as I tidied my apartment and I rewatched Hogan-Rock. I don't think Hulk ever did anything better - ever - than the post match bit where he approaches Rock sheepishly, beaten, and selling the ribs. Gets me a little weepy every time.

Me and the wife are talking about buying a car this year, first comes love, then comes marriage, here comes Vince with a baby carriage, and I'll be damned if I shlep that thing around on the fucking R train. Right now, it's down to the Mazda 3 hatch, Ford Focus hatch, Kia Soul, and despite its smaller size, the Honda Fit. The Kia's basically perfect for us, but it's a Kia, and no amount of "they've come a long way" can completely take away my bias against them. In another life, I'd be looking at a Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ but I can't see a scenario in which that happens. I wouldnt want an auto in such a car and she refuses to learn how to drive stick.

Google sold Motorola to Lenovo. I'm very, very disappointed. I suppose it's possible Lenovo stays the course, which would mean I get my much desired Moto X sequel, but - much more likely - I imagine we get cheap Chinese phones with the Moto M slapped on them. I'm not one for jingoism, but it's unfortunate we are losing yet another iconic American brand to the Chinese.

I saw that we have the inverse of this topic, and it immediately made me think of... Bill Paxton, Aliens. Holy fuck. Is it even acting? Goddamn. Such a great movie, such a dreadful performance. Almost ruins it. Almost. Whatcha'll got?

I gotta say, I think the two weeks off needs to change. I was very hyped to see the Super Bowl two weeks ago. I live in NYC and work... oh... a block away from Super Bowl Blvd. And at this point, I don't give a good goddamn about it. I still think Denver goes over and of course I'm gonna watch it, but meh.

Rayman Legends. Got it on sale on PSN/PS+ for $35. Fairly obsessed with the daily/weekly challenges at the moment, and the misses and I play the campaign together. It's really, really brilliant. The gameplay and aesthetics are both so creative, and despite the fact that it's a side scrolling platformer, it's really quite original. I give it 142 stars

If you don't do substances and you don't seem particularly ostentatious - Punk on both counts is a no - the kind of money a headliner makes for a few years will hold you over for a pretty long while. So maybe he has fuck you money? Also I'm sure Japan would offer good money for a much lighter schedule, even if it wasn't the same money as the E.

I don't keep up anymore, but I watched the Rumble. I think my favorite thing about the whole show were the revolving chants for people not at the show during the Cena/Orton match. I caught Y2J, Undertaker, Randy Savage(!). It was way more entertaining than the match. Also, I never liked Batista so I enjoyed him getting shit on. The problem with him getting the Rock treatment is that he's far from Dwayne Johnson. I can think of a few people who can do what Big Dave is doing without it seeming so shit. Austin, Rock... But not that tool.

I just realized there's no thread for the best show on TV today, BOB'S motherfucking BURGERS. This is appalling. Not since seasons 2-8 of The Simpsons has a show so consistently brought the goods and done so with such a clear and well defined voice and style. Everything about it is choice.

I'll ignore the ad hominem stuff because I can consider the source, but I don't see how anyone can see the completely one sided officiating and not think that affected the outcome. Am I exaggerating their effects on the game? Maybe. But it was only a two score game, had Boldin occasionally gotten called for his bullshit, maybe it would have gone a different way.

It's not the trash talking itself, it's that SF was given that game by the worst officiating I've seen in a long time AND THEN they strut around like they really won that game.

Go Seahawks. San Francisco is currently the most repellant team in sports. Don't really care who wins the AFC game.

So if it winds up SF/NE, is that not the least likeable Super Bowl ever?
