  1. I do think there were a decent number of folks who were hitting both CEO and the G1 US Special from what I saw on twitter.
  2. ZSJ gave a finger in his interview last night- so still thinking this isn't all that serious. Toning it down isn't a bad thing, but getting rid of it entirely is.
  3. New Japan has to spread these shows around if they don't want to hotshot things.
  4. I take it as inner feelings of guilt over Hiromu's condition.
  5. I'm getting frustrated with how formulaic Jay's low blows are. I'd like to see him try some different forms of cheating, such as stealing pins by feet on the ropes. I think this is why Jay's thing is getting redundant, he hasn't gotten any variety to a good formula yet and he needs some. Gedo needs to lock Jay up with some of his old Larry Zybisco tapes. I'm sure Kenny's making seven figures in NJPW, when you get to that point you can worry about other things.
  6. I liked White-Fale. Told a good story in white being hoisted by his own dickishness and not having any friends, yet laughing while knowing he was about to get screwed over. Also liked Jay bringing out his inner Suzuki-Gun with use of young lions as weapons. I can forgive the lack of heat, it was heel-heel and the fans wanted to see them both get theirs. Jay continues to impress me even if Page is the real breakout star.
  7. I kinda want to see Juice go 0-9, get the 9 US title shots, but win them all once his hand is healed.
  8. It's weird the best English commentators were the ones at CEO, who were fighting game commentators, not wrestling dudes at all.
  9. I was looking around at random, and I saw what looked to be some sort of feud between Zorro and Pentagon? Given how much I loved Zorro during my AAA watching years ago, and like Penta a lot these days, can anyone tell me if this happened and what the background of it is? Can Zorro still go?
  10. They just put a Larry Zybisco match on NJPWorld so you can watch that. I really do feel like Suzuki's transition to dad status is beginning at this G1, especially if ZSJ does well- I don't think it really happens for another year though. Jay seems to work light in general- almost to the point where I could see him being potentially better in WWE than in NJPW (and that's something I almost never say)
  11. I liked the White-Suzuki story, wish the match had been a bit longer with Jay being punished more. He needs to be punished for being a bad boy- and the A block dads are the best folks to do it. (I think Makabe also beats White) Babyface Minoru was something though- the fans really seem to hate their Knife Pervert. A White briefcase defense against Suzuki could be really, really fun. Really want to see a longer match between the two now. (Jay White isn't winning the case)
  12. Really want to see Minoru punish Jay, I can't see Jay going 9-0, he'll prob lose to at least one of the dads and someone else.
  13. WWF I always liked the heels better, not so other places. 80s WWF was really bad to me as a kid. Eric Embry was more believable than any WWF face.
  14. This G1 has made me like Makabe, when I wanted Taichi over him or Yoshi-Hashi. Now I just want YH gone.
  15. Jay does need more variety on his heeling. Gedo needs to lock him in his basement and force him to watch all his Memphis tapes after this is done.
  16. Loved Ishii/Yano, and ZSJ/Ibushi, and Naito/Omega delivered as they usually do. Juice is good but Tama's bad outweighs it, and Goto/Sanada was just good. Sabre/Ibushi I'd love to see a best of 7, those two just are perfect foils for each other, I think Ishii/Yano can be that as well.
  17. I thought he didn't lose the crowd so much as the crowd was a bit stunned by what they were seeing and didn't know how to react. I know in my case it didn't feel boring at all- and I liked how violent Jay was. The big test for Jay is going to be vs the Yoshi-Hashis and Makabes of the world. I like the idea of Jericho and Jay having some interactions- I think Jericho could really push Jay's promo work into the next level, because there's a similarity there- Jericho's also a master at being the type of heel who makes you believe he's in the right - something which he worked on in his WCW days and was really good it during his Bockwinkel tribute years. (he admitted to that one)
  18. Jay White made a case for being top 10 in the world tonight. This was better than the Juice match, Okada's better than Juice, but Jay combines the just outright detestability of the Miz with the ability to be vicious and athletic that Miz could never be. For someone who is 25, he still doesn't know entirely what he shouldn't be doing, but he already seems to know all the little things he should be doing. Tanahashi/Minoru felt like a rushed ending - I'm wondering if they're starting a changing of the guard in NJPW across all the factions, with ZSJ eventually turning on Minoru? I so want to see ZSJ/Minoru try to break each other.
  19. Thinking about it from the same state. I did get to see the CEO show this year which was awesome. My big concern is weather- especially since I'd want to do something in Buffalo afterwards. Zero interest in WM itself- would just be coming for NJPW.
  20. Viable number 2 is all I want. Been wanting that for the past 17 years. ROH will never be a viable number 2 as long as SInclair owns it.
  21. My first criteria is : how many guys can x have a great match with Second criteria: how varied are those great matches? Third criteria: if the first two are the same, who had the best match overall?
  22. If someone was to do that, it sure as hell wouldn't be Juice or Jay White. Guessing the most likely scenario is Juice or Jay forgot, and then everyone improvised. Just hoping Juice or Jay don't get punished for anything. If it's a full work, and leads to say, White vs Barnett at WK, it's a solid high-profile match for Jay at WK. Also hoping the news on Hiromu means the broken neck isn't as bad as it could be, hopefully just a hairline fracture or something.
  23. Hiromu/Dragon Lee was good until the injury, and Jay White/Juice is a top-10 MOTY candidate and Jay's breakout match. The Cody/Kenny match is terrible and can be ignored.
  24. Hiromu getting his broken neck makes me really sad. I worry because when I think of broken necks I think of Eddie Gilbert and worry this might be the same sort of thing with Hiromu. Hopefully it's not as bad as that. Jay White had a breakout performance tonight. This was his first truly great match. Juice more than held up his end of things as well. I really didn't care for Kenny/Cody, or the firing squad really.
  25. Get the Steam version- it's easy to just download other people's creations on that for Fire Pro. The actual gameplay is pretty solid- though hitting running moves is still tricky. I got to try out the near-finished console version at CEO this past weekend. The most popular guys among the FGC folks were Omega, Naito, and Taichi.
