  1. I read about Dreamer/Bravo match on reddit and I thought that someone was making shit up. Reminds me a bit of OGz vs LAX feud that had OGz hitting small kid with a car, but it was later revealed that kid didn't die because I guess they realised that it was fucking stupid. Looks like this time they didn't realise it.
  2. It didn't feel like its own thing, but more like a special episode of NJPW Strong. But hey, right man won.
  3. I vaguely remember Anthem pushing for Impact/NJPW deal and using a new AXS TV deal as a carrot. NJPW refused and were dropped by AXS TV. But I'm not sure if that was what actually happened or if it was just a theory going around.
  4. So I said that RoH has been actually very good for a while now and what do they do with their next TV episode? Obviously, they shit the bed. PCO in tag titles match and Flip Gordon in Pure title match. Fuck off.
  5. Finals will be Hiromu vs Desperado and GoD vs Finlay/Juice. We also got a strong hint that Shingo/Cobb for NEVER title might be happening at WK. From the last show Finlay/Juice vs Goto/Yoshi was very fucking good. In general Finlay had an outstanding tournament and they deserve to win this, again.
  6. Would be weird considering that NJPW push into USA started before Meij was hired. I think the angle at the end really pushed this from OK to GREAT, but more you think about it weirder it gets. I think one of the problems that AEW currently has is that they don't have enough time for everyone they already have signed. Sure, technically AEW could use Impact's women, but who are they going to sideline from their side for it? And then there is a headache of who goes over who. And once you are done do you sign Impact's wrestlers that you liked? Fire your own that got sidelined during this crossover? Ideally I hope it doesn't result in full out war and they stick on "Omega is working for another promotion" point, maybe add one or two Impact loyalists like Moose to the story so that it feels a bit bigger and provides some back up for Omega. It shouldn't turn into AEW vs Impact, but stay as AEW vs Omega. Promotions from time to time tend to do big heel storylines about how some wrestler is getting out of control and wants to destroy/take over/whatever the promotion, but it always feels fake-ish because you know that the wrestler is still signed to the company so there is no real gravity to the situation. Impact being a real thing does, in my opinion, bring some credibility to this storyline.
  7. Feels like FinJuice have to be there as well. Their last match against ZSJ/Taichi was probably match of the tournament.
  8. Would I be crazy if I said that RoH has been the best post-lockdown promotion in the world? Many other promotions had higher highs than RoH in these past few months, but I don't think that any other promotion has been so consistently enjoyable. Pure tournament was a blast and I'd say that majority of what we saw in post tournament TV episodes has been good to great as well. Now all they need is to deliver a good Final Battle PPV to cap it off. Some matches have been set up during last couple of weeks: Rush/Brody for RoH world title EC3/Jay Briscoe Taven/Bennett vs Vincent/Bateman Mark Briscoe in a promo said that he wants to get back tag titles so we are probably getting Mark/X vs Gresham/Lethal for tag titles. From what I recall, before lockdown, Shane Taylor + SoS had trios titles shot so that might be a match as well.
  9. I'm just glad that it looks we are finally getting some longer term storyline here that connects to the very first Lion Collision shows. Also kinda funny how Rocky is probably main character in all of this with his "impressive" number of wins.
  10. Will the NJPW shows be available there? NJPW World only has 2 or 3 matches from that tour.
  11. So looking at the post lockdown period, anything else from CMLL is worth tracking down asides of Titan/Sobernaro?
  12. I think Yoh should be back by spring. As for the tournaments, I think that WTL is actually good this year, not that we get one or two decent matches like previous years, but that overall WTL shows are enjoyable. BotSJ suffers a bit that asides of Eagles we have seen plenty of action with other 7 guys so it doesn't feel as fresh as previous junior tournaments that usually would bring either new guys or some that we haven't seen for a while.
  13. Yeah well, NJPW is likely interested in some news guys for The Empire. They already kinda hinted someone with a "hatchet" nickname.
  14. Bunch of random thoughts: Is it just me or have GoD added some new moves/sequences to their matches? Or maybe I forgot how they even wrestle. I'm not sure about Cobb/Khan winning WTL since then we'd have heels vs heels title match at WK. Story of Tanahashi failing continues. Evil/Yujiro so far are surprisingly good. Hiromu reminds everyone that he is still crazy. At first I was like who cares about Tenzan helping Wato, but I'm actually interested in Wato adding some of Tenzan moves to his arsenal. Looking at the brackets it looks plausible that Sho might get to the finals, but I'm not really thrilled about that. Hiromu is obviously one of the finalists, but I think I'd prefer Desperado or even Wato as his opponent instead of Sho.
  15. I'm not sure if it can be called poor (or good) considering that it was pretty much a filler for couple of months till we got to G1.
  16. My suspicion is that Evil will go for Shingo at WK. You don't really go from being double champ and one of the main characters during the entire year to not having a featured match at WK.
  17. So... Evil/Yujiro beat Shingo/Sanada to set up NEVER title match?
  18. So what Tanahashi is going to do? I always assumed that with Kota he'd win WTL and win back tag titles at the dome so in that sense White winning wasn't surprising to me. But now I have no idea.
  19. I think after PS since probably the winners of two main matches won't be in it just like last couple of years.
  20. Ishii/Goto/Yoshi vs Taichi/ZSJ/Douki from the last Road To show is definetely worth watching. I can't believe it, but all 3 NEVER trios titles matches were great.
  21. Didn't last one draw a decent house? A bit surprised at it being at Korakuen.
  22. Question is do they want Ibushi losing second WK main event in a row? Maybe losing briefcase and winning, lets say, WK semi-main is better for him?
