  1. It does feel pretty gross that Spacey stayed closeted during the whole debate over gay civil rights but comes out and drapes himself in the rainbow flag to deflect from the assault allegations. I hope Bryan Singer's predatory ass is next.
  2. The Pistons/Grizzlies finals are gonna be hype.
  3. Driving around 1940s LA was pretty cool. I could do without most everything else.
  4. Shut the fuck up, Doug.
  5. Oh yeah, the learning curve is basically a brick wall and the tutorial is worse than useless as they've changed some game mechanics in major ways since it was created. I played a fair amount of the first CK and I still didn't pick up on a bunch of stuff until I watched a couple of LPs.
  6. Yes, you should play Crusader Kings 2. Stop what you're doing and play it right now. It has RPG elements in the sense that rather than playing a country like you do in most games of this type you're actually playing the ruler, or more specifically a bloodline. You have stats and traits and stuff that affect how you govern, the kinds of events that happen, and how people react to you, which is important because managing your relationships is just as important as managing your military or economy. Your (and everyone else's) courts and full of people who have their own stats, traits, and agendas and you'll be Die without an heir? Game over. And if you do have an heir your younger brother who's got passed over for the throne might start getting some ideas about how to deal with that. Or maybe your oldest child is a syphilitic imbecile who's going to imperil the throne, what are you going to do about it? So there's no fixed story, just the narrative created by the game systems. It's a hell of a thing. Also, there are like a million DLCs and you can ignore pretty much all of them.
  7. You should really click through and check out this Twitter thread about the Museum of Soviet Arcade Machines. There are some really wild mechanical arcade games there.
  8. It's good, but didn't quite hit the "Crusader Kings but in space" heights that I wanted. Haven't tried the new DLC, tho' I got Cities Skylines and it's kind of a lot at first. I wish it had a more comprehensive tutorial.
  9. It is amazing how smug Fox News is about this considering they've had O'Reilly/Ailes/Bolling all get their business put on the street just in the past year. But self-reflection has never been their strong suit.
  10. Milwaukee really is the best:
  11. Political commentator Mark Halperin is out at MSNBC after five women accused him of harassing them during his time at ABC, and at least one other former co-worker has accused him since. Can't wait for him to get his own Fox News show.
  12. AT&T at least has gotten their shit together with pushing out the monthly security updates immediately, but I can't speak for other carriers.
  13. The Bucks are having a throwback game at the Mecca tonight and the court is dope as shit:
  14. The Sixers still have red alternate unis, right? Can we start calling their rookies 'The Redshirts'?
  15. I really like the Wire, but I think it's a fair criticism that they focus the show too much on McNulty when he's by far the least interesting character, at least in the first season. His arc gets a bit better once he gets busted down and meets Bea.
  16. AP is reporting that Robert Guillaume has passed away at age 89.
  17. Markelle Fultz agent is saying that he had fluid drained from his shoulders and can't raise his arm to shoot, which raises the question of why the hell the Sixers are playing him at all.
  18. I belong to one video game board but only post in the off-topic boards and come here to talk about games because people who love games are the worst.
  19. Never mind. I'm not sure how they thought they were going to distance themselves from the Barstool brand when it was in the title of the show, but that's why I don't run a fancy cable network.
  20. Eric Bledsoe is a first-ballot Hall of Fame excuse maker:
  21. Already did in her memoirs last year.
  22. If we extrapolate Lonzo's performance from his first two games he should be scoring about 250ppg by the end of the season.
  23. I hit level 30 with my purifier in Grim Dawn, which coincided with unlocking my first devotion skill so call me Ja Rule 'cuz I'm all about that MUUURRRRDAAAAA. Listen, I'm sorry, but I've had a lot of sudafed today.
  24. Steam has a deal up where if you can get a Steam link for under $9. Technically you're buying the game ICEY for 7.69 and the link for $1. I'm not especially interested in either, but I feel like I'm stupid if I don't buy it.
