  1. It's not even free agency yet. God bless the NBA.
  2. IT BEGINS: Bulls released Rondo. Also Woj starts on ESPN at 12:01 tonight, which feels like some real Rick Rude showing up on Nitro shit. EDIT: Rubio to the Jazz, terms not announced yet.
  3. Man, we used to set up the Slip & Side at my babysitter's going down a hill that ended right at the street, and somehow no one who should have known better had any problem with it. It's amazing the worst we got away with was some mild road rash.
  4. Interesting tidbit about the Clips I hadn't realized: Vinny Del Negro's best season with the Clippers: 56-26, lost in the first round Doc Rivers' best season with the Clippers: 57-26, lost in the second round Huh.
  5. Oof, JJ already announced he won't re-sign with the Clips.
  6. And it appears Woj has dropped his last WojBomb at Yahoo. What a way to go out.
  7. I'm not terribly worried about the on-court fit. Harden and Paul are both incredibly smart players and if there's one thing D'Antoni knows it's offense. But I am a little concerned about how CP3's knees will hold up playing at the Rockets pace and about their perimeter defense.
  8. The Clippers are trading CP3 to the Rockets, per Woj!
  9. Michael Nyqvist, who starred in the Swedish version of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and was the villain in John Wick, has passed away at age 57 from complications from cancer.
  10. I wondered why Tatum kept laughing when he announced picks. Also, I've turned on Woj tweeting the picks a minute before they happen. It feels pointless and show-offy.
  11. Like, Golden State just paid 3.5M for a dude that fits perfectly into their system and might be one of the steals of the draft and he'll probably spend most of the year in the D-League.
  12. Goddamit, Kings, quit drafting Jayhawks and fucking up their careers. Golden State acquired Jordan Bell from the Bulls for cash. I like it.
  13. Twitter: terrible for society but the best thing to happen to basketball since the shot clock. EDIT: He deleted it. It was a magical hour.
  14. Bucks' draft board every year is just an excel spreadsheet sorted by wingspan. EDIT: Jesus, his twitter handle is even Lanky_smooth
  15. Never mind, Embiid is the police.
  16. We don't deserve Embiid.
  17. I cannot imagine a scenario in which I'd let one of my exes within 10 feet of with a tattoo gun. You're a braver man than I.
  18. I know, but it's been over 10 years since Isiah got canned and I couldn't think of a non-awkward way to phrase it.
  19. The fucked up thing is he's not even the worst Knicks GM of the 20th Century!
  20. Well then he's gonna feel real silly when Chris is a Spur next year.
  21. I think the Clippers have a couple of things working against them vis a vis getting Lebron. Their cap situation isn't nearly as good as the Lakers. They'd have to move at least one of their big 3 to get Lebron, and they still wouldn't have much room to build the rest of the roster. Plus the Clips have consistently failed to surround their big 3 with a decent supporting cast either via the draft, trades or free agency, which I think might concern James. And finally all of their key players are on the wrong side of their primes and they don't really have any up-and-comers on the roster. Personally I think Lebron stays in the East. Why get jobbed out by the Warriors any earlier in the playoffs then you have to?
  22. Heh, I had to google that and agree it's an awesome name, except that "I sell patio gas and patio gas accessories" doesn't have quite the same ring to it.
  23. Greg Monroe opted in on the last year of his contract. Not what I wanted to happen but probably a smart play for him given the weak market for bigs. I imagine he and Henson with both get shopped pretty aggressively.
  24. Well, if the reports are true that PG wants to sign with the Lakers next year they don't really have to trade for him. They can just wait it out, be shitty for another year and keep enough cap space to sign him. That plan works better if they controlled their 2018 pick, but nothing to be done about that now. I sorta like this deal for both teams. I think Russell will be a good player, but the Lakers clearly didn't believe in him and he had that "last guy's decision" stink on him. So they dump him and one of their terrible contracts for a year of Lopez. The Nets get a good young player that helps make up for their missing draft picks in return for a dude that was leaving next year anyway.
  25. In less silly news the Bucks' D-League team revealed their new logo and it is dope as shit: Also, I will be dead in the cold, cold ground before I call it the G-League.
