  1. On the one hand I feel like I miss out on a lot of games by not liking multiplayer, on the other hand hell is other people on the internet so it's probably for the best.
  2. Very crafty of Bethesda to move into a genre where broken, unfinished games are the norm.
  3. Today's lesson is that if you get even a little bit of money the first thing you should do is hire someone to slap the phone out of your hands if you try to go on twitter.
  4. It was very confusing to me as a small child why the Wings, Wonder Woman, and Whataburger all had the same symbol.
  5. It is downright criminal that I can't immediately find 70s-era indoor soccer league jerseys for sale online. What's even the point of the internet? Seriously, look at this magnificence:
  6. The Magic are reportedly targeting Tom Izzo and Kelvin Sampson in their coaching search. I'm not too high on the idea of either as an NBA coach, although at least Sampson can't get hit with recruiting violations in the pros.
  7. My wife has had patellar tendon problems for years so we are firmly in my wheelhouse. If he hasn't already get your doc to refer you to a physical therapist, and then do everything they say. Building up the other muscles around your knee can reduce the amount of work your tendon has to do. I'd also highly recommend a cold therapy machine. We have an Ossur Cold Rush (a couple, actually) and it's been a real game-changer. You can get the machine and a knee pad off the internet for under $200. There are also some topical pain relieving options you can try, both OTC (Super Aloe, Biofreeze, Arnica Gel) and prescription (Voltaren/Diclofenac, Lidocaine) that can help. My wife also had some luck with a TENS unit for a while, but it eventually stopped being effective and frankly could have been a placebo effect the whole time. Regarding bracing and sleeves they help by keeping things in your knee in the right place and/or keeping your from holding or moving your knee in a way that could cause pain. As John said, they don't really stop the pain, but they can make it easier and less painful to get around. Sorry that you're dealing with this; knee problems really suck. Unfortunately as John said when it comes to serious pain your options basically come down to stuff that works (opioids) and stuff that takes the edge off (everything else).
  8. The Clippers extended Doc Rivers because they love disappointment.
  9. Vince has to be pissed that the NFL is stealing the XFL's gimmick.
  10. Oh man, those ears! In the past day Bruce has nicked a bagged cinnamon roll and a package of english muffins off the counter, and snatched a peanut from the bowl of trail mix my wife was eating. You would think we never fed him.
  11. Halle Berry, Anjelica Huston, Mark Dacascos, and Jason Mantzoukas have all joined the cast of John Wick 3.
  12. Why haven't we gotten a Hulk: Ultimate Destruction remastered yet? That game ruled.
  13. I haven't even gotten to ascensions yet, so there's still a lot I haven't seen or understood. Silent does seem objectively stronger than Ironclad. The only luck I've had with Ironclad was with a really block-heavy build that used body slam for damage, but it didn't get me to the end of the spire and wasn't that much fun. Poison Silent and shiv Silent are both awesome and tons of fun.
  14. The 2nd amendment is aptly named in that it's the second worst idea America ever had.
  15. My wife and I are hooked on Slay the Spire. I throw it up on the tv with the steam link so she can kibbutz while I drive. Such a great, addictive game. Also played a bit of Project Highrise, which is a fun, light successor to SimTower. You can get the game and all the DLC for under $10 on Steam this weekend.
  16. Yeah, I think it might be a different story if it were winter and they had an excuse to huddle together, but it's getting a bit warm for cuddle weather up here.
  17. My wife just sent me this picture. I cannot even handle this cat. Also, he and James have been napping on the couch together all afternoon. This is the closest they've gotten to each other without hissing.
  18. There was also an Aliens game on DS that ruled pretty hard.
  19. Some things about Bruce -The rescue said he spent a winter outdoors and got some frostbite on his ears and feet, so the edges of his ears look all torn up. He was also on the losing end of some fights with something and has scars on his little nose. -He has a really throaty purr that sounds like grunting and it's adorable -He likes to sleep on our pillows, especially my wife's, so we'll often wake up with a cat for a hat. -He's the most intense laser-pointer-getter I've ever seen. He really gets that red dot. Unfortunately he's also pretty smart and has figured out where the red dot comes from so it's about 50/50 that he'll try to get your hand instead. Anyway, he rules and I would absolutely die for him.
  20. After almost 10 years and 5 different smartphones I finally cracked the screen on one. It's fairly minor and still totally usable but I'm very annoyed with myself.
  21. You can definitely get by without an internet connection, but I'd really recommend having one for patches as the PS3 era was the beginning of the "We'll just release it and fix it later" mentality. As for the hard drive you should be fine with the built in drive with the caveat that you'll have to do some shuffling after you've had it for a while. The PS3 doesn't the the PS4 thing where it installs the entire game from the disc, but some games have fairly hefty installs. You can't use an external drive for games, just for videos and music.
  22. I'm pretty jazzed that I'm old enough to have no idea what you're talking about. I think their post OHM stuff is perfectly competent dad rock, but nothing I'd voluntarily listen to. Hard agree about Frusciante.
