  1. I don't really mind remakes if they want to make them thats fine with me. Some of them I'll see some of them I won't. It doesn't detract from the previous version of the movie. I always enjoy new ideas on familiar stories. I'm weird though I thought Dredd was really boring. While I liked Planet of the Apes the Burton version.
  2. I was expecting a lot more for the amount of hype and praise it got. I didn't really find it nearly as funny as anything they did last season. I'm not even sure I laughed and I love the episodes most others don't.
  3. I pretty much felt it would be downhill for him after the Super Bowl loss. I don't know about arm strength although I remember at one point tonight 19 yards was the longest pass of the Bronco's season which I thought was staggering a game and a half into the season for a Manning team. He seems to be a lot more inaccurate this year and I'm not sure his current receivers are as good as the guys that have left. I get they weren't going to get paid in Denver and might as well cash in on Manning making them look better than they were. I kept hearing them talk tonight about how Manning isn't running his own offense since like his second year in the NFL. I know Gary has his own brand of offense and he's an accomplished OC in the league. It just seems strange to me that this is Manning's final year and Gary isn't letting Manning run the offense he knows with the guys that know it. Maybe more shocking that Manning agreed to comeback this year to run an offense that wasn't his. All that being said their D looks incredible through two games. Their offense just looks really bad. Almost zero running game in two weeks and the passing game looking bad. Looks like a ten win season and a first round exit in the playoffs.
  4. There for a few minutes today I was a little concerned Chicago might pull something off.
  5. I started it two weeks ago, and just finished the last episode of Season 3 about 30 minutes ago. This is probably the best superhero show on television. I think its really good although the middle of the seasons tend to get bogged down for me and I really wish they would stop with the flashbacks since this seasons flashbacks were just horrible to sit through. That being said I give the edge to Flash in best super hero show category but this is a close second. A lot of times this show feels like "we really want to do a batman tv show so we can't so we'll do Arrow and have him be our stand in Batman". I still dig it though a lot and I'm looking forward to the new season. I honestly didn't think the middle part of any seasons dragged. I was captivated the entire time watching all three seasons. The only thing I don't really like is Speedy (as she is now), but I'll probably warm up to her in the new season. Oh, and ATOM. No thanks. I read people hated S3, but I loved it. The Ra's stuff was awesome, I thought. Diggle as the "Guardian" looks better in live action than he does in promo pictures, for sure. Even if there's only brief flashes of him in the helmet in the new S4 preview. I really hated the flashbacks last season. I mean I'm not even sure what purpose they served. At no point did I even remotely care about it. Atleast season 2's flashback's were interesting with getting off the island. Personally I think that once he's off the island that should be it. Instead he's off the island, he ran around china, came back to Starling City, now he's in Coast City, at some point he goes BACK to the island and apparently gets stuck there before being "rescued". Its just too convoluted. It makes him look stupid that he's apparently already super powered or whatever and he's running around the world involved in all these big fights and somehow he goes back to the island and apparently needs rescuing off of it again.

  7. Just basically binge watched Orange is the New Black season 3 and I was honestly bored. I get onto a lot of shows that have these 20+ episode seasons because the middle of the seasons just drag. I'm usually a big fan of the slow burn storytelling but in a case like this where there are only 13 episodes there is no reason for every episode not to be packed with crazy shit. Instead it took all season for anything interesting to happen. The only thing that really had me interested was Lori Petty's character which I guess tied into the "who is going to fuck Alex up" story arc. Last season bothered me because I felt like I was watching 2003 RAW where every episode ended with the heel on top with V outsmarting everybody, at every turn, until she randomly gets ran over which even that I felt like was shitty because nobody else at the prison got the "rub" of taking her out. Instead she was just randomly ran over and still go over on all those bitches without any real retaliation from any of them. Atleast that season was still interesting though this one wasn't. I don't think I'll be back for season 4 the show seems to have ran its course.
  8. I saw Trainwreck over the weekend I thought it was really funny for most of it. Then it seemed like the last half hour or so just dragged. I think a lot of comedies fall into this trap. It goes from consistent laughs most of the movie and then it has to get serious at the end and it makes it drag. Leslie Jones cameo was awesome and Method Man's character was fun as well.
  9. I got about two episodes left of both Flash and Arrow. While Flash has left me on the edge of my seat nearly every episode I'm just flat out bored with Arrow. The League of Shadows thing I thought would be a HUGE deal with me being a Batman mark but sadly its been so dull. Palmer has been the best thing about this season. Roy left and I didn't even care. I kind of wish they would stop with the Arrow flashbacks they haven't added anything this entire season.
  10. JW officially passed TDK but still sits about 80 mil behind The Avengers. I don't see how it has 80 million left in the tank. Seems like it should hit right under 600 million.
  11. So I've been watching Flash and Arrow back to back and I'm getting towards the end of the year. I think I got about five eps of both left to watch. I just watched the Flash episode where the Golden Glider debuted. Cold is so focused on robbing the Casino but it doesn't make a lot of sense. They fake rob the Casino so that they will put the cash in an armored truck and leave the Casino with it. It seems like it would be a lot easier to get ahold of all the cash if its in one spot in a very less secure place than behind vaults. Not to mention Gliders gun turns things into gold. So why are they bothering robbing a casino when they can just turn everything into gold, sell that and have infinite amounts of cash? It all felt very contrived. That and this feels like the third or fourth time Cisco has kind of been made a fool of by villains. All in all though Flash is miles better than Arrow this season which has been just flat out boring.
  12. Ok I wasn't sure if they were taking a break and then restarting right before August. I know they got Ultima Lucha some time in August and they have tape delayed shows through August 5th but I keep hearing about season 2 so I'm assuming this isn't a traditional show where they just run continuously.
  13. Are there still new episodes going on or is there a break in seasons? MY DVR is set to record the series and doesn't have anything set to record tonight which seemed strange since they're airing this show in a giant block all night.
  14. How is Sansa not mentally fucking insane after all the emotional and mental torture countless evil human beings have put her through over the year(s)?
  15. I'm starting to get burnt out on Cersei always going over. I feel like I'm watching 2002 RAW or something with the way she never looks weak, she never gets beaten at anything meaningful, and she constantly squashes all of her enemies. I'm sure (I hope atleast) she'll get something especially brutal in the end but man there is a fine line between building someone up to finally get theirs and just constantly beating it over the viewer/readers head that this person is unbeatable and can't be beat so by the time it does happen it just means less or whoever does it inevitably feels unworthy. I thought Grandmother Tyrell might be able to go bitch to bitch with her but she squashed her, her grand daughter (the freaking queen) and her grand son. There is no way that would go down if Cersei was queen. I thought the Queen was going to be the one person that could outsmart her but just a few episodes into being the queen she's being punked out.
  16. I just discovered this show during a mini marathon on El Rey on Weds. This is not only the best wrestling show on American television its the best wrestling show on American Television in the last decade easy. I love the production values on this, Vince McMahon WISHES he was Dario Cueto. That spot where he freshens up his drink with El Patron is bleeding to death in his office window was incredible. I enjoyed the stuff with Dario and Drago. I love Big Ryck and I can't believe I"m saying that. I didn't even realize it was Ezekiel Jackson. The Mack is awesome, the Medallion storyline is boss.
  17. After last season I was so pumped for this season but honestly I'm kind of bored with it so far.
  18. I knew next to nothing about GOTG coming in. I didn't watch a single trailer and I didn't actually know who the GOTG where. I knew virtually everyone on the villian side of things. Ronin, Thanos, etc but going into the movie I didn't even know any of them where in the movie. It came across like everything the Star Wars Perquels wanted to be. It was awesome, there was a sense of history in the universe, there was a purpose, there were multiple personalities finding a way to work together, perfect comedic timing. So far its got to be close to the numer one Marvel movie I've seen if not number 1. Maybe Captain America beats it out for me but thats it just an absolutely perfect summer movie.
  19. Sin City bombed hard at the box office. There is talk that GOTG might have a shot at taking first place for the weekend in its fourth week with only a 30 percent drop off from last week. TMNT will become the highest grossing Turtles movie of all time but once you adjust for inflation its a distant third. Still none the less hitting 150 mil this summer is pretty damn good and should put it right under HTTYD2 at like 11 on the year so far. GOTG as of right now is 20 million off of Captain America but it sounds like it could have a 17 million this weekend and its most likely already topped Transformers as the highest grossing movie of the summer if you don't count Captain America. So it sounds like GOTG will wind up becoming the number one movie of the year until this winter thats pretty damn impressive. Beating out Captain America, Transformers, X Men and Spiderman I don't think many people would have expected that at the start of the year.
  20. I might be wrong but I think TMNT is the first movie to be first at the box office back to back weekends since the "official" start of summer. Transformers was making all kinds of money and looked on track to beat Cap but its still 16 million shy and judging but its 800,000 domestic its pretty much done earning for the year. TMNT still needs about another 18 million to become the top earning TMNT movie it should get close judging by it doing just under 30 million in its second week. Its been an underwhelming summer both in terms of box office money and really in terms of quality movies. Outside of GOTG I didn't walk away from any movie this summer thinking "man that was virtually perfect". Neighbors was fun, Days of Future Past was really fun but nothing seemed great this year for me.
  21. Shouldn't the new Fantasy Football league be up already? Seems like it was started in July last year or maybe I'm just missing it somewhere.
  22. Just got done with Season 3 of Being Human the U.S version and this was a show I always wanted to like it just never really felt right. The first season was decent, the second season bored me to shit. I always felt like the Aiden character was a dick and Sally was annoying. This season however was really awesome. Top to bottom by far the best series of the show so far. Black Magic, Zombies, Werewoloves being giant, people being raised from the dead, nasty looking wolves instead of looking like my pet dog. Now its onto the new series Turn. I haven't heard a lot about it but I'm a sucker for period dramas. Next up after that is the Bitten show about Werewolves.
  23. Is Mr. Selfridge any good? I just started looking up what Piven was up to since I thought at one time he was supposed to be a big breakout star from Entourage and outside of that Ace's movie I don't recall him doing much. Turns out he's on some WWI period British show.
  24. I can get behind the not liking the original Halloween. The first half hour or so is pretty interesting but I thought it was kind of dull. TCM is good stuff though and the original is hard to watch as a kid in parts which always makes a good horror movie in my opinion. Not just for the gore but the "fuck this isn't that far outside of being able to really happen". I think that for me is a big part of horror movies atleast growing up. Freddy and Jason where cool but pretty much didn't fit in my rhealm of possible even if I guess the first Jason or two could be possible but those aren't even that good of movies. But its also why movies like The Shining scared the ever loving shit out of me but supposed scary movies like Exorcist didn't do anything for me.
  25. Yeah you're right about all of those tropes but as you said its enjoyable. On top of that I love the amount of detail there is in the show if you're a comic fan. They also seem to be ok with using newer villains. As someone else mentioned he hardly ever if ever absolutely finishes off a villain there is always a chance for them to come back. All that being said I just can't buy into Merlyn. He doesn't look anything like a bad ass and so far he hasn't portrayed an interesting character at all.
