  1. Lavogez just took the equivalent of a sloppy Sycho Sid powerbomb on concrete. Really fun match.
  2. LA just got Lucic for their pick, Jones and other stuff. I'm glad we didn't get him at that price. LA will likely re-sign him but there's always the chance of free agency. In better news, this pretty much means Vancouver will have a lottery pick next summer.
  3. How many people in Vancouver are going to do a 180 on Lucic now that it looks like he's Vancouver bound? "He's a neanderthal, but he's our neanderthal!" He makes way too much money, has one year left before becoming a UFA, his production has dipped, and Boston is in cap trouble so now wouldn't be the worst time to make a move for him. All depends on what's going the other way. I imagine Kassian would be part of it, or we could do something really stupid like trade Edler for Lucic. So, Edler for Lucic it is! Andy Strickland says he's coming either this summer or next.
  4. You couldn't pay me to watch that idiot talk. He and Skip Bayless personify everything wrong with ESPN and sports "journalism". From what I've seen, it looked like everybody outside of the top 3 were clear projects and New York picked the project with the most upside. They also picked up a 22yo PG ready to play right now. Seems like a good draft for them. All the free agency talk seems to be surrounding LA, doesn't New York have a bunch of cash even with shitbums like Bargnani?
  5. Oh dear God. How does a game that old and popular not have that sort of thing patched up?
  6. Why hasn't Blatter been arrested yet?
  7. Even though the Sabres aren't my favourite team, I empathize with our expansion cousins on having one of the worst people in the league deciding your team's fate. Having a great general manager/president is more important than all but a handful of players with the death of easy trade movement, the dearth of quality free agents (this year's has to be the worst class since free agency was a thing, right?), and the reliance on the draft. Hoping the Bieksa to San Jose rumors are true. I wish we could slip in Sbisa and Dorsett but beggars can't be choosers. I still can't believe how the idiot running the Canucks can look at the performances of Lack and Miller and come to the conclusion you keep Ryan Miller for two more years. I guess I can believe it. I wonder what meat and potatoes guy we get at 23.
  8. Reading more on Porzingis, I really love the pick. I don't get the Knicks fans' desire to "improve the team now" through the draft when firstly: their team is the absolute shits outside of one player, secondly: hardly any drafted player outside of Okafor and Towns (and even then) is going to make much of an immediate impact next season, and thirdly: there's still free agency and that's where New York can do the most damage (for better or worse). Porzingis has such a great, rare combination of skill and size. If he works out, he'll be a massive impact player for as long as his body holds up. Complaints about his strength and ability to defend the interior are probably mistaken because he's not a center despite his size. His mobility and athleticism are "off the charts" for a player of his size, so that suggests he should be able to guard wing players and the quicker 4s. I hope the Knicks help develop his post game and rebounding, because he could be a complete package if he puts those things together. Some scouts say he has the most potential out of any player in the draft. Looking at it a little closer, it looks like the complaining Knicks fans just don't want to take their medicine. Quick fixes are what got you here in the first place.
  9. Why do Knicks fans hate the Porzingis pick? Who did they want instead?
  10. Yep, I'd say the overabundance of Riddler shyit and using the batmobile too much are my complaints for an otherwise spectac game. Early on I was worried I was already at 20% of the story but then I forgot that each major story setpiece takes longer and longer as you go.
  11. Yeah, wait whut? This game is fucking awesome on PS4 (and I imagine Xbox One). The PC port is a different (shittier) beast. Also, they vary up the Riddler challenges, thankfully. The second batmobile one is a rather simple puzzle and the third batmobile one isn't nearly as hard as the first one and I did it first try (after taking a good 10 or so attempts at the first one). He also has a sweet surprise that you really ought to play through, so don't skip out on his stuff. Some of his riddles are a real pain in the ass though. :/ I'll probably just do them near the end of the game in one long slog.
  12. Especially when they have Samoa Joe and Kevin Owens on the roster. Just dumb booking and, yes, a total Vince thing. Owens' putdowns of his competition can be a bit too much but he's still a really funny bully. The way he had the announcers walking on egg shells and directing them was hilarious and made up for another dull show. Finn's lego backstory was so weird. But, they know their core audience of NXT would love it, so it makes a lot of sense. I just don't see the "quiet, introverted, nerdy Irishman" gimmick working on the main roster at all. They need to establish the demon character ASAP.
  13. As Kevin Sullivan loved to say, regarding the Vampiro/Pentagon stuff: "let it simmah!" They've been getting fantastic, vociferous reactions with the slow build and while Vampiro is a "fat, old announcer" he was a huge star, so I can see why they're making him out to be a big deal. I fear for Vamp's arms though because the payoff is going to be super violent. Pentagon's character is akin to The Undertaker in that his focuses lay outside of the big shiny belts and medallions and more on personal vendettas and being a bad ass in general. His aura is still way strong even with the bullshit Sexy Star feud fresh in our minds.
  14. Watching Mil/Mesias/Banderas put a beatdown on somebody is such a treat. Puma/Mil Muertes is going to be incredible, as both guys are riding huge momentum waves. Has Sexy Star injured somebody in Mexico with her undercutting dudes on dives? She's always coming up 2-3 feet short and it's so dangerous. I enjoyed the 4-way match way more than Curt. It wasn't great but an enjoyable spotfest that played to everybody's strengths. Mack is the man but I'm glad that Aero Star got the medallion. Whenever they say medallion, I think of late '70s/early '80s Ric Flair with the gaudy suit complete with open collared shirt and massive medallion on display. I'm still concerned about no confirmation on a second season. Would the only reason for the delay being the cost of filming the show? Doesn't the show pull in massive numbers relative to everything else the channel does? Don't take this away from me!
  15. I'm going to miss his ridiculous strut.
  16. Wow, that's huge news. I'm as shocked as you are that Conor's camp would accept fighting Mendes on short notice. That's a dangerous fight and it has a built in back story with all the trash talking they (mostly Conor) did last year. Should the Aldo fight go ahead, I wonder how big of a change in strategy Conor would take and try to work the body far more than he usually does.
  17. Because it says "monster race".
  18. Arkham Origins patterned their boss fights off the awesome Mr. Freeze fight in City and did some cool varied stuff. If nothing else the game had the most interesting villain roster and best boss fights of the series pre-Knight. I don't get the hate honestly. That game had no soul. The boss fights were good but they clearly just did the Freeze with henchmen routine that you mention, the story was the shits (that fucking early plot twist killed any joy I got from it), so many goofy run-around missions and plot points, boring sidequests and trophy hunting stuff, clunky combat, glitches everywhere, poor progression design (particularly the predator challenges, as you couldn't complete them after you hit a certain point in the story), among other stuff I'm sure I'm forgetting. Ah yes, like the relatively weak voice acting. It felt like a cheap cash grab to me. They brought next to nothing new to the table and it seemed like they took City and modded it. As for Knight:
  19. It's like we're in the mid-to-late '90s again. Why can't more teams take their cue from the Bucks (said somebody for the first time in about 40 years)?
  20. I thought the Kovacic stuff is just Italian make-believe. Bacca would be a serious "wow" purchase after already signing Firmino, although his release clause is high (£21.5 million) and he's not generally of the age FSG aims for. I could only see it if the Sterling to City for £50 million deal goes through (lol). I'd love to know how Squawka calculates their player ratings, but he was 5th last year in terms of "attack rating" in La Liga, behind only Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar, and Bale.
  21. Yeah, das a lot of cash. Better spent on him than Benteke though. I don't know if that's their intended "striker" because he's better playing off somebody like Sturridge than leading the line from what I've seen of him. Lots of talk of Illaramendi coming to Anfield as well. Would be very nice because he's like a lesser Xabi Alonso. Similar appearance, style of play, both came through with Sociedad. Those two and Clyne along with the free transfers have the making for a nice summer.
  22. I've found a lot of current gen ports to PC have been disappointing in one way or another. And that Rocksteady didn't work on the PC port isn't surprising as that's been a thing studios do as of late.
  23. The Lone Ranger on NES was a bad ass cowboy game for its time.
  24. Jeez, he was so agile back in the day. I remember loving him back in his Utah days but, gosh darn, a way better athlete than I recall.
