  1. I did the math and I can't swing seeing this in person, but I am very excited to watch it on TV.
  2. Think I’m going to go to the WWE thread every week and post photos from Twitter of half-full arenas.
  3. Well, if they decide to can BoB they might wait and see who they can pull in for whatever system their new OC wants to run.
  4. Barstool seems pretty invested in Deion (makes sense, they're both garbage), but I read that Philip Anschutz's son is a CU alum so maybe they'll be reaching out to him. Probably a bunch of CU alums who are now making $$$ on dispensaries as well.
  5. I don’t think that’s a hard question to answer, it’s ALWAYS all about Meion
  6. Chaos ensues but it was always going to be a battle to see who loses to Georgia.
  7. Danielson has wrestled on Dynamite 24 times this year, 4 times on Rampage. He was hurt for a month. Moxley has wrestled on Dynamite 26 time this year, Rampage 10 times, and even did a Dark taping. And the results I’m looking at only go through Full Gear. Can’t recall when he came back from rehab but there is a 3.5 month gap from late October 21 to him wrestling on Rampage on January 21st.
  8. So, that whole episode was a setup by The Brixton owners to get a new sound system for the bar. They faked all the issues they were having in their personal life, kept the new name and look of the bar for whatever obligatory period was required (couldn’t have been more than a week and more like a weekend) and then changed the name back and got rid of all the drink changes. It was a decent dive, I used to hang there some, watched a couple 2010 World Cup games there at 5 am. It closed right around the start of the pandemic.
  9. I remember when Tito’s first came out, had a lot of pride that we had this Austin-based vodka that was better than something twice the price. It was great for all us poor Texan punks trying to get drunk at the shows.
  10. Liked the opener a lot, Carter might have a future, but Darby sure did a lot (probably too much) to make him look good. I think Darby’s so used to wrestling as the scrappy underdog who has to throw all caution to the wind to win, that he’s not able to conceive of a match where he’s the dominant wrestler over an inferior opponent. Athena is awesome. Not sure she can actually be a heel being this level of asskicker except when she threatens Aubrey. Couldn’t get into the tag match, so choke on that, slappy. I think Matt or Gord pointed out that the main was a good match but wasn’t as fun a match as it should have been. Just not enough shenanigans. Feels like they ended up booking a lot of the Austin show for me. Acclaimed-FTR! Darby-Joe! Claudio and Yuta vs Garcia and Hat! Skye Blue! Bunny! A 15-minute bathroom break for MJF talking! Now I just need Takeshita.
  11. I think you could get Keith Lee there quickly. Fans never stopped loving him, and he never looked weak. He has the years of indie credibility with a fandom that values that as much as his time in Connecticut. Hell, have him refer to that time and large black men too often being stereotyped as savages and monsters. Of course, with MJF thinking he’s the next Piper things could get really bad...
  12. Well shit, guess I’m buying a ticket now.
  13. this is going to come as a big shock (pun intended) but it was for online sports gambling.
  14. Pretty impressive considering Liberty's founding. Presumably the money is no longer coming from elderly people's social security checks.
  15. I didn't include Hardy because that was actually a hot angle with some decent matches before the inevitable. I forgot about Atlas' arrest but he got hurt in his first AEW match so I was giving him a pass for that; at this point he's fungible anyway. Didn't know that about AQA, but I also forgot she was even All Elite.
  16. Bottom 5: 5. Paige Van Zant 4. Saraya 3. Jeff Jarrett 2. Jeff Jarrett 1. Jeff Jarrett
  17. Watched all of Dark and first half of Elevation. Enjoyed the Emi singles match and especially the Emi-Maki vs. Nyla-Shafir match. Of course I enjoyed Lard Lad, and Wingmen vs. Party Hardy. Cutler's comedy match was great. Always enjoy seeing Bunny. I wanted to like JAS trios but it was a little too squashy. Brian Cage and Angelico obviously have their fans here but I FFWD through Cage and Angelico once again couldn't keep my interest. Zack Clayton sucks. Guess I missed soem good matches on the back half of Elevation, will try and catch them, How could I not want to see Athena destroy someone and Party Hardy vs. Chaos Project?
  18. I think OC-QT is going to be a really good, fun match but I also think both it and Darby-Kole (which might be good, Darby's going to have to do a lot of work) could just as well be Youtube headlining matches. Remember when I was bitching about Jeff Jarrett and everyone said "don't worry, he was hired for a backstage role and is only going to be on TV once or twice"
  19. surely there's some other wealthy, oppressive dictatorship they can get in bed with.
  20. he wasn't released, his contract expired and they couldn't come to terms for a new one.
  21. I'd rather trade MJF for Charlie Dempsey
  22. They also sort of have a built-in angle with WIllow facing Jade twice previously, with the second match actually having her get more in on Jade. There is also the Willow-Red Velvet match which was Willow's break-out match and where Red turned heel after the crowd turned on her during the match. She was with the Baddies within the next week or two.
  23. But is he going to be a fighting champion like Mox or OC, or is he going to continue to insist on being a special attraction who only defends every 6-8 weeks (assuming PPVs and specials like Winter is Coming). I can count on two hands the number of MJF matches I've seen in the 15 months I've been watching and still have enough fingers left to hold something.
  24. When I went to see if the Austin AEW tickets had gone down in price yet (they have not), I saw that most of the floor and lower mezzanine seats had been sold, but some significant portions of the upper deck (the $32 seats) were unsold and it looks like at least three areas of the upper deck on the off-camera side of the ring aren't even being opened up.
  25. MJF's belt cracks me up because it's very in character with a try-hard who mistakes name brands and gold with actual class.
