  1. The league I'm in at my former workplace got rid of the TE position 4 years ago by a unanimous vote. You can play a TE in the flex spot if you want, so guys like Gronk and Graham still get drafted.
  2. When I saw them at FunFunFun Fest 3 years ago, they had his sons as their DJs. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/q-a-jam-master-jay-s-sons-on-joining-reunited-run-d-m-c-20120905
  3. Hindsight says hope you picked up Rodgers. I did, as a replacement for Eifert...and then didn't realize that the Packers were the Thursday game so he and his big game sat on my bench.
  4. Maybe they'll try and trick people into thinking it's a basketball game...
  5. Like everyone's favorite UT fan Sarah Smith (she posts on some of the fan boards and won a contest for being in this gif)
  6. Well, I've seen Muschamp's name mentioned a couple of times. He can recruit, and I suspect he's physically strong...
  7. I've also read some mentions of Meacham and Memphis. Considering the turnaround they had at TCU and with Boykin, not surprised they're super hot. They're also about to lose a ton of seniors on offense. I know nothing about Frost, just saw it mentioned somewhere, and snide comments that he turned down Nebraska?
  8. Scott Frost to UCF. UNT supposedly had a deal lined up with TCU co-OC Doug Meacham but that seemingly fell apart, or he is taking his time. More recently, the smoke is pointing to Seth Littrell from UNC. The Meacham news is interesting because word got leaked that UT is seriously looking at (and may have been talking to) the other TCU co-OC Sonny Cumbie to come in as the new QB coach and OC, so maybe TCU made a huge offer to keep Meacham?
  9. you're the 3rd person who has similar taste in music to me that has mentioned them, and the first with a descriptor that makes me say "yep, I would probably something like that". So guess I will.
  10. I've seen rumors on Texas boards that the big money guys have wanted Les gone for a while and feel like a) he's vulnerable now because he keeps losing to the big rivals and b) he can't win with the insane talent he's constantly acquiring, but maybe someone else can. Also rumblings that they wouldn't make a move on Les without already having someone lined up, and that someone may be Jimbo Fisher.
  11. There are certainly factions within the big donor pool who keep stirring that pot in the media, for sure.
  12. I went one day this year (could've gone all 3 but the weather was awful) and it really wasn't bad at all. Pretty small, like half the size of FunFunFun, and a pretty chill audience of hipsters, city witches, and stoner metal dirtbags. The lineup was pretty eclectic, in that there was shoegaze, psych, doom metal, proggy stuff, some punkier stuff. The main problem is getting there and back.
  13. Every day, the parodies get more accurate.
  14. One of the most popular EDM DJs in the world and Taylor Swift's boyfriend. And I only know this cos of Gawker Media.
  15. To add to Rippa, he does do something akin to BBQ:
  16. Possible upcoming sci-fi show from Rob Thomas (Veronica Mars, I Zombie): Tempest Could be interesting, definitely not a reboot. Odds that the main character is a smart, plucky, petite blonde?
  17. i don't follow wrestling anymore, but I always try to check out (or scroll back through) the WOTD, even if I don't post or participate actively beyond some likes.
  18. My fantasy teams are in such sorry shape that I'm celebrating the fact that I could quickly grab Zach Mettenberger for my "superflex" spot to complement my luck that EJ Manuel is starting for an injured Tyrod Taylor again. This is in a 14-team league that has wayyyyy too many bench spots, so there are almost no skill players of any value on waivers in a given week.
  19. And that's one thing I love about the Screwed-Up Clique, DJ Screw, and most of the H-town scene. They started their own form, rapped about the shit they knew and loved, and eventually a lot of other people caught on. Of course, the next generation are just aping that style and sound and combining it with the Dubsmash rap style trying to get a Youtube hit.
  20. I knew someone would put this. Again, everyone assumes that I haven't tried. I live in a city full of music. My favorite fest books a ton of hip-hop acts old school and new. My favorite community radio station has a show devoted to underground hip-hop that I try and listen to. I realize that there's a whole world of hip-hop beyond the lowest-common-denominator Dubsmash pop rap songs that I described earlier. It just doesn't grab me. Spitting lyrics to prove you're a wordsmith, without any soul or passion, doesn't grab me. Consciousness that I can't jam to doesn't grab me. Weirdness in the name of creativity doesn't grab me. All those things can be done, and were done. Speaking of my city, the same people who do the underground hip-hop show tried to book a hip-hop fest with headliners like Aesop Rock, Jay Electronica, Freddie Gibbs (who I like a lot) and Danny Brown. They had to cancel it due to poor ticket sales.
  21. You assuming I haven't made the effort is all on you.
  22. Hey, I'm happy if you want people to watch you Whip and Nae-Nae to your heart's content. And I get that it's much easier to remember the song when there's 8 lazy bars of a verse before the repetitive chorus/hook. I just remember when we all thought MC Hammer and Father MC were a joke, when 90% of radio rappers these days couldn't sniff their jock in terms of rapping talent. As for the last part, I heard one in Memphis and it was glorious .
