Nice! Whatever they may have been like in the 80's, by the late 90's they seemed to just be happy to still be playing rock and roll and having a great time. They put on terrific concerts all three times I saw them. No more pretense to "Art". (cough cough *Native Tongue* cough cough) Just throwing a party.

I graduated high school in 1992, so I grew up on this stuff. But back then, I was never allowed to see my favorite bands in their prime. I did get to see many of them in those Poison-headlined cards from 1999-2001, incl Warrant, Slaughter, Cinderella, RATT, Dokken. Also saw Crue three times in those years, as well as Sebastian Bach ("I Remember You" is my all time favorite song). I even saw Firehouse. Also saw KISS in '96 and 2000, though they weren't doing many of their hairband era tunes.
  3. I don't care for Maroon 5, apart from "Moves Like Jagger", but I dig this tune and this video.
  4. I didn't think it was a work, necessarily. I was just watching the comeback interview, and I got curious how much might have been exaggerated or embellished - especially when he started talking about Hogan. And then I started to wonder about the whole thing.
  5. Bet that dude became an ECW regular attendee. What an asshat.
  6. Okay, so they were just shortcutting the story a bit. Good stuff. I am still impressed he came back at all.
  7. Looks like the bulk of the reprints for the 1st round will be Nu52 #1s - though I did see the Teen Titans book will have the 2003 Johns #1 included. Are these going to be digest sized? It sounds like a project worth supporting.
  8. Terrific video. Gotta give the guy major props - if I had my face smashed in, I would be terrified of getting hurt in something as physical as rasslin. I am a little unclear about the timeframe, though. 2/19/93 is his big return - there's a clip in this video. He talks about doing the Barbershop to keep from having wrestle. Then it suggests that he interviewed Andre on the Barbershop, among others. But by this episode (or within the next weeks, Andre was dead). Weird.
  9. That show was so good in those days. I should go back and rewatch the 2008-09 eps and see how it holds up. One hour time-frame kept things moving, and we got some terrific matches. Christian, Finlay, Swagger and others (Matt H, Mark H?), going on PPV and stealing the shows.
  10. Watching 2/1/93 RAW, and Bruti Beefcake is telling the story of his injuries and sadness - getting his face crushed by a parasailer, burying his parents around the same time, Hogan pulling him back from his despair. (and maybe even saving his life at the accident), etc. Is there any truth to any of this? If his face got crunched, couldn't it have as easily been a drunk driving crash?
  11. This looks like good stuff. I subbed to youtube and within my podcatcher. Your playlist is missing some middle eps, I noticed.
  12. The problem is he's just never been given a chance to show what he can really do.
  13. Ken the Box - best worked punches in the business! Now I want a Survival Tobita comp. I can't speak for all those non-fans OSJ is trying to convert, but I am hooked . .
  14. My guess is she was aiming for upper chest and missed. Because the alternative is unpleasant. But then, who knows with Japan?
  15. I just noticed that ROCK AROUND THE CLOCK plays in the wee hours Friday morning. Don't sleep on this one, if you haven't seen it. Some comments I wrote about it a few years back:
  16. Kobashi took the Vadersault twice??!! He wouldn't have if the order of these clips were reversed. That, my friends, was a good old fashioned headbonking in that last one.
  17. I assume Terry is Gordy, though it seems he would have said BamBam or called him a brother, or something. But who is the "Michael"?
