  1. They left it wide open for a rematch what with David using a foreign object and all. David was the first WWE babyface?
  2. Undertaker lost at Wrestlemania? You'd think they'd publicize that or something. I prefer the purple accents, myself.
  3. Possibly. No one knows for sure. The other persistent rumor was that Magnum was going to beat Nikita in an I Quit cage match at Starrcade then move on to Flair. Buttt..... prior to Magnum's accident, Jim Crockett announced on television that Nikita's Starrcade challenger would either be Ron Garvin or Dusty (prob. Garvin). The weekly tv seemed to be moving off Magnum-Nikita. They teased a Magnum-Jimmy Garvin feud, but Magnum got hurt before anything came of it. I tend to think that feud would have been more for the house show circuit, so they might still have done Magnum-Nikita.
  4. Legal problems. Condrey has talked about it in a couple shoots. He left the territory basically overnight without telling Cornette or Eaton because several women had filed paternity suits against him and he wanted to get out of the area and lay low. There might have been some other reason. He showed up in Portland not long after, wrestled a couple matches, and disappeared. Supposedly, he failed a physical and couldn't get licensed in the state.
  5. It makes sense for AJ and W-1 to recombine once Akiyama is in power. Neither has much of a roster or fanbase to go it alone. Hell, it makes sense for AJ to reabsorb Noah too, while they're at it. Since it makes sense, I'm assuming someone's ego will get in the way and it will never happens.
  6. My Survivor Series team is Kane-Jake-Vader-Perfect-DiBiase. I'll pocket the remaining $10. Basically, I learned my business strategy from Paul E. They need to just take the title off Bryan and sideline him for as long as he needs to get right. The angle really isn't even interesting TV and rushing him back seems like the dumbest thing they could do.
  7. I kinda thought the board's mutant ability was being able to judge every pro wrestler by the quality of his punches. PUNCHES!
  8. Yeah, although so far they've avoided most of the other 24 cliches (useless side stories, multiple red herrings before the big bad shows himself). I gotta admit, I wouldn't mind Jack torturing someone while screaming "Tha bahmb! Where is the bahmb?" Just for old times sake. Nah, she's great. Really hoping 24 doesn't pull the usual bait and switch and reveal that she's working for the guy who's working for the guy who is the real big bad. She's too good to for her character to end up a pawn, Is Michelle Farley a sympathetic character (babyface) on Game of Thrones? I've never gotten around to watching GoT (probably will this summer). She seems to have very little babyface charisma, so I wouldn't be surprised if she's typecast as a villian. Really enjoying this season. Who knew the perfect length for 24 was 12? I assumed this was the end of the line for the show (I doubt the proposed movie ever gets made. Is that even still in play?), but I wouldn't mind another mini-season. I'm not even really a diehard fan of the show. (I think s1 was the only season I watched in it's entirety. The "24" formula is cool for a while, but it really ends up hurting the storytelling (24 reminds me a bit of "The Adventures of Brisco County Jr". As a homage to the Saturday afternoon pulp serials that inspired the show, they decided that they stage a mini-cliffhanger every time the show took a break for a commercial. Wow, that got old fast). Still not digging Lisbeth SalanderChloe. Really enjoyed non-emo Chloe so I kinda hate the change.
  9. But they're starting Axis in just a few months... FWIW, Marvel is denying that they intend to cancel/downplay X-Men or FF.
  10. If you ask nicely, maybe she'll bring Johnny Ace.
  11. Are you saying Orton has his own, personal pants free zone?
  12. So the AJPW name could actually die with the same roster and personnel running under a different name? Wow. I look forward to Area Japan Pro Wrestling's first show.
  13. I'd prefer to see him go in as Dustin Rhodes, but the Goldust gimmick is probably more significant/got pushed harder/had longer legs.
  14. He needed to elbowdrop his sportscoat for old times sake. Although, Ric Flair on tv without his coat and with his shirt untucked is perilously close to Ric Flair on tv shirtless.
  15. Dont forget Little Richard Marley. He was their manager so that doesn't count. And honestly, does just PS Hayes make it the Freebirds? Can you see just Ambrose with (insert name here) and call it "the Shield"? Three men or no go. I thought he was an occssional worker, unlike DDP and Big Daddy Dias nk, who were strictly managers. Yeah, Marley was Rocky King repackaged as a non-jobber (sorta). He wrestled at least a couple six-mans with the Freebirds.
  16. The gas mask design they used in the film probably works the best for movie purposes, but I kinda like the sniper "cyclops" mask. Unique, memorable design.
  17. I'll second Last Gladiators. It's a fascinating sports doc, but, more than that, it's just an extremely well made film. Watched X-Men: First Class last night after seeing Days of Future Past over the weekend. Had a lot of fun with both.
  18. I've long thought the main problem with Cena is that he's this generation's Hulk Hogan in a generation when the audience no longer wants 80's Hulk Hogan. Cena would been huge as a territory guy or in the WWF prior to 1995 or so. And he could have rotated out of the territory when he got stale, which is the crux of the issue in the WWE.
  19. Who is Booker wrestling in that gif? And why is his (the other guy's) Keiji Mutoh impression in slo-motion?
  20. Guess this goes here: Wachowski Bros. latest film, Jupiter Rising, got yanked from the summer release schedule. Will now be released (buried) in Feb 2015: http://www.eonline.com/news/547980/mila-kunis-and-channing-tatum-bumped-jupiter-ascending-release-pushed-to-2015 Saw the trailer over the weekend. Looked like it could easily be a confusing mess. Released Wachowski Brothers were attached and assumed it would be a confusinf mess.
  21. Saw the trailer for the first time a few days ago. Had no idea the Rock was in it until just now. MARKETING! Looks like it could be dull. Probably won't see it.
  22. Not really random. Paul E. had brought 2/3 of the original Midnight Express to JCP (Rose and Dennis Condrey) and they were feuding with Cornette & the Easton/Lane ME. Chi-Town Rumble was the blow-off to the feud, but Condrey quit before the event, so they slotted Victory in as a replacement. No one knows why Condrey quit. Rumor was that Condrey found out he was going to be the one to eat the pin and leave the territory (match stip was the man pinned would leave the territory), but Cornette says the plan was always for Rose to leave and Condrey would have gotten a singles push.
  23. I'm not. Actually, I'm not even sure who (what?) those names are? Infamous members of the board?
  24. Then maybe in the relaunch the writer will break them apart, depower/kill one of them before finally returning to the status quo and leaving the book. Most writers on the book have done that anyways. Isn't James Robinson currently doing some sort of depower/deconstruction of status quo? There was a Fantastic Force book back in the 1990's. Actually, I think Breevort wrote it. Same situations. There were rumors the title was going to be canceled (and replaced by a new book, Fantastic Force). Rumors supposedly weren't true, but Marvel decided to use the title anyway. Think the book was set in the future with new characters. Vaguely remember Franklin Richards being the main character. There was also a Fantastic Force mini using alternate dimension characters from Millar's run, iirc. They've had two FF books lately. One during Hickman's run starring the Future Foundation kids, the other from Matt Fraction's run starring the "replacement FF" - FF was dimension hopping in the main title. Don't know that any of those books sold well. I wouldn't necessarily mind seeing the FF take a break. I'm not really big fans of the characters, and they seem stale to me even when i like the writers. I"m not really in favor of benching one of Marvel's iconic titles, though, especially when the only reason seems to be "someone else is going to make money off the movie" Did the first two FF movies even turn a profit? I assume they did, since the sequel got made, but both are fairly reviled and poorly reviewed.
  25. I had no idea Howard Stern was still a thing. Seriously. I assume she thinks Seinfeld became bigger than she did because she's a woman or was difficult on the set or somesuch?
