  1. Remember that weird moment in time where WWE started billing wrestlers from Canada as being from places in the States?
  2. Windham in the Zeus role? Was that rumoured or fantasy booking?
  3. I've wanted to get a chequered suit for YEARS but could never pluck up the courage. Dave has now given me that courage
  4. I'm glad I haven't missed the boat on self-checkout talk. Two bits: 1) I bought a bunch of bananas but when selecting them on the screen gimmick I just put 'banana' so it only charged me 29p coz it thought it was just one. 2) When using one early in the morning one day I actually said thank you to the self service machine when it gave me my change Also, I was listening to the Shield on the Onnit podcast that someone mentioned. Cracked up at the idea that Reigns and Rollins go home to families and Ambrose goes directly to VEGAS to party
  5. Damn, I ran out of likes but that legit made me lol
  6. No, like in an actual promo on JCP tv. Sure it was on the first DVD WWE released
  7. Hero with the Wyatts! Jesus, why didn't that happen? Not that I can imagine a member of the Wyatt clan with a cravatte based offence... suppose Bray could cut a promo saying how the only TV they received back in their hut was Deliverance and World of Sport from England
  8. I'd believe him about the Studio 54 thing, I'm sure Ric Flair mentioned receiving an award from Heyman there in the mid-80s
  9. Was this from the Sheriff Austin run? I loved that, I remember him interrogating Lance Storm being a highlight
  10. Wow, been away for three days and never thought that Curtis Hawkins quote would lead to nearly 10 pages of Ryder talk. My thoughts on him are pretty much exemplified by Cristobal quote: I don't give a shit about quarterlies or ratings, I'm not a statician I just want to be entertained. And he was entertaining. WOOWOOWOO was massively over until he changed it into this serious woo.woo.woo thing. He's a character that should have at least been put in the Santino position in some way, I'm not saying pushed to the stars coz he's not that type of wrestler but he should have been featured A LOT more in the loveable goof role as opposed to what happened to him with this bizarre US title run/odd Kane storyline then dropping off TV This made me lol, whether that was your intention or not I'm not sure
  11. I kinda wish Ambrose had gone all crazy and done a Martin Riggs to pop his shoulder back into place
  12. Forget 96, what if Bret had gone to WCW in 92?
  13. Strangely, I have no real problems watching Benoit matches but I can't watch Misawa matches
  14. Seeing as you mentioned that, how/why did Eaton and Arn end up with Hayes post-Dangerous Alliance? It was over and done before I even noticed when I was a kid
  15. Didn't he end up in a tag team with Barry Horowitz or some bullshit? Then left?
  16. I'm the same Big Fresh, up until his ROH run I thought Cornette was the be-all and end-all of booking, then I listened to Russo and then Cornette's Invasion booking and that was it for me
  17. That's an excellent game. I seem to recall hating the ending though. Which ending did you choose?
  18. I guess going in blind has been a real godsend for me as I know nothing about it so its taken me by surprise. I think I'm 3-6 missions from the end, well worth getting if you can get it cheap/used. The Kurtz-type villain made me choose between executing a civilian who stole water or the soldier who killed the civilians family too - I hesistated for too long so one of his snipers shot my squad mate who I then had to resusitate
  19. I always thought Bruno's perm was his first foray into wig-dom
  20. I got a PS3 on the cheap at the weekend with a bunch of games. Started playing one of them called Spec Ops: The Line just expecting it to be another thoughtless run n gun game. Nope, it's really fucking dark and has an Apocalypse Now descent into madness vibe. I did a mission yesterday where I had to drop phosphorous bombs on a platoon of rogue US troopers THEN walk through the aftermath - burnt soldiers crawling around, crying. One was still alive and simply asked 'why'. Grim
  21. I like to think he'd have amounted to something great in WWE, but part of me thinks he'd be stuck in a team with Barrett. His Pure Title run was legit one of the greatest title runs in the history of the sport
  22. but my real question is - would Russo have managed to add another gimmic stipulation to the Dibiase/Duggan Tuxedo/Coal Miner Glove on a Pole/Cage Match?!
