Everyone Suddenly Cares About Cody Rhodes...
Craig H replied to offspring515's topic in The PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
By the way, I don't recall seeing on Raw, SD, or PPV many of the promos cut by Cody that I saw on YouTube. I'm guessing they were on the app. You want to talk about burying talent, well I think this qualifies. I didn't think about getting buried like this before, where you're not buried in the traditional sense, you're just hidden on the app, or YouTube, or pre-shows, or whatever. I wonder how much other good shit I've missed because I never bother looking at ALL of the WWE app stuff, YouTube stuff, and pre-show stuff. It's already difficult enough to keep up with 3 hours of Raw, 2 hours of SD, an hour of NXT, and then PPVs. -
The biggest problem I have with time travel stuff is that with scenarios like this, it makes it seem like the future is already written. Willis doesn't become Hodor as a child without Bran travelling back to the past and Hodor hearing Meera from the future. I've seen some complain about how they didn't want time travel shit to rewrite the future, but that's not what we're seeing. Hodor sacrificing himself was very sad and tragic, but thinking about it deeper reveals a mess and I doubt B&W delve into how making one change in the past instantly creates a tangent universe that is different than the prime course of history.

Just going through YouTube and watching clips of Cody makes me think they missed a big opportunity with Cody. He cuts such an awesome promo and they let the guy go to waste. -
$5 for Jackbox Party Pack 2 is nearly a steal. That's the best deal on there.

Now THAT would be fucking great. -
FUCK YEAH! LastFight came out today on Steam. What is LastFight you ask. Oh, it's just Power Stone styled fighting game based on a French comic book and it looks fucking awesome. It should be hitting PSN and XBLA pretty soon too.

For Captain Marvel, after seeing her in Live Die Repeat, I think Emily Blunt can certainly pull off the action bits, but I'm not sure if she has the look. Brie Larson and Kristen Bell both have the look, but I'm not sure how they would come across in an action flick. Plus, ever since Forgetting Sarah Marshall, whenever I see Kristen Bell on screen I see her as a character playing a character. It's just something I can't unsee now. Gillian Jacobs may be a good choice if she can put on some muscle or bulk up. I only say that because she looked so skinny on Love. Not to say that she didn't look healthy, but I'm just envisioning someone more athletic looking. I suppose that also applies to Larson and Bell. -
Or the short of it is it's spelled Helluva Kick. Hell-uv-a Kick. Get it now?

Best Non Winning Royal Rumble Performances

For sure Mr. Perfect in 2002. His near elimination spot where someone is trying to dump him over the top rope and as he's leaning over the top rope he spits out his gum and swats it away is one of my favorite spots. I remember when he came out I was waiting for him to do that during the entrance and he didn't. That he chose then to do that is about one of the most Mr. Perfect things ever. -
I picked up the entire team of toys for my daughter (and, well, me too I guess) the other day and they each come with a piece to build the ghost in the logo, which I guess is what is leveling that building at the end of the trailer. If I were to make a guess, I would say that someone, probably a Gozerian, tries to be the living embodiment of Gozer on Earth causing all kinds of freaky shit to happen. Or not. I'm probably thinking too much of the plot to the video game, which I hope is re-released on PSN so I can play it on the PS4.

That's tough. I like Balor/Joe more than Balor/Owens, but Joe/Corbin was better than Corbin/Aries. The tag title match and Sami/Nakamura were both insane and the latter of those was almost as good as Sasha/Bayley. Sasha/Bayley had a feel good moment that blows away everything in wrestling except for DB winning at WM and is obviously a better match than the excellent Sasha/Asuka. Another feather in the Brooklyn show's cap is how much fun Breeze/Liger was. Top to bottom, Dallas was consistently excellent all night, kind of like Calgary Stampede, but Brooklyn had higher highs that made you have to get through face Vaudevillains and an OK match with Crews and Dillinger.

I have never seen Buckaroo Bonzai.

If creative decided to pivot and wanted to make Big Cass "the man" by putting the title on him at Summerslam, I would not be mad at all. I can't believe I went from having such an insane love for Enzo and Cass, while detesting how wooden Cass was in the ring and on the mic, to really liking Cass' work. I think this was the exact moment everything changed for how much I liked the Cass portion of the team.

I think that CoD trailer is getting way too much hate. It looks pretty fucking great. My only fear is that the space combat will be confined to a tiny part of the game, like Halo: Reach. I'm not looking for Elite: Dangerous here, hell, I'm not even looking for Colony Wars, but if they can make space combat a meaningful part of the game and have that be part of the multiplayer, they'll have my $60. Now, if a Colony Wars were to ever be made again, I would be willing to spend about $200 on it. Slightly less on a G-Police remake.

Yeah. Many callbacks. I love that this season has such a sense of urgency. They have two seasons left, which basically amounts to one full season, but they're handling the pace of the show better than others in their final season do. So, are we getting a triple threat match at Winterfell? Jon's crew vs Ramsey's crew vs dudes from the Veil?

Yep. Same here. I wondered if Patton's filibuster was on the Russo's minds at all with some of Spidey's and Ant-Man's lines. -

Tons of pretty girls in Hollywood. Also, whenever I think of Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet, I can't help but think of Patton Oswalt's filibuster on an episode of Parks and Rec where he detailed how using the reality gem could bring in the Star Wars universe and that was before Disney purchased Lucasfilm. EDIT: Nevermind. That episode happened after the purchase went through and JJ was named director of The Force Awakens. -
My girlfriend has been caught up with Veep for awhile now because I re-watched the entire series with her because she wanted to watch it. Through re-watching it, I developed a strong sense of hate for Selena and Gary. I want to see her lose nearly as much as I want to watch the Underwoods lose. I'm actually not sure who is worse, Selena or Frank/Claire. As for Silicon Valley, that episode pretty much cemented it as one of my favorite series of all-time. I have my girlfriend nearly caught up on that as well. I watched last night's episode before she went to bed, but before she did, we watched the season 3 finale. She said that was one of the most intense episodes of a tv show she's ever seen, mainly referring to the end of the episode. I have to agree. It's even up there with Doc Brown trying to rig up the clock tower during the storm so Marty can go back to 1985. The first time I watched the season 3 finale, it was nearly unbearable. This time around, I was giggling like crazy watching my girlfriend freak out. What was even better was seeing her get emotionally upset when Richard finds out he gets removed as CEO. With tears in her eyes, she agreed that he wasn't a good CEO, almost as if she watched the first episode of season 4. Bonus for me too, the first time I watched the season 3 finale, I didn't realize that Gavin losing the arbitration AND Richard finding out he was fired were both extensions of Schrodinger's Cat from the previous episode. I love Silicon Valley. It's so awesome. When the guys walk in and see Laurie sitting in the chair and Laurie tells them their moving forward with the platform, I started clapping and pumping my fist. Rarely do I mark out over a tv show like that. It was a victory without a total loss. Rare for that series.

I just did a quick search and didn't find anything, but I haven't seen anything about casting Death in the MCU. Do you think they just straight up abandon Thanos doing this all for Death? I wouldn't be all that opposed to leaving her out of this. Although it makes me wonder why the Mad Titan would even want a completed Infinity Gauntlet or if he would destroy the universe with it. It would certainly leave him without anything to rule over and for no purpose. -
People really don't remember when Dany pulled this same trick back in the season 1 finale. Not just on here, but my friends that I just spoke with. I mean, it wasn't THAT long ago.

I'm guessing that once Ramsey is dispatched, Cersei will take over as the head non-White Walker heel of the show. It reminds me of House of Cards in a way where once the season big bad is done away with do both Frank and Claire ascend to become the big bads of the series.

Surprisingly, with everything going on, no one touched Beltre's head. Although I suppose at that point no one wanted to die.

Only thing Odor didn't do was take his grandma's chain back. You got knocked the FUCK OUT!
