  1. I'm two years older than Harley Race was when he debuted in the WWF. I'm no spring chicken, but I'd say I could pass for 1986 Harley's grandson.
  2. Are we sure she actually said they were developing a new Wonder Woman? It may have just been an ad-libbed verse for a new recording of Imagine that she's doing? Imagine there's a new Wonder Woman...
  3. That guy behind Blassie is 23. That's just what 23-year-olds looked like back then.
  4. They did do a video package for Jay/Shida. Went through their history (Shida was Jay's first AEW opponent). I mean, I don't think it made the match feel more important, but it was there.
  5. I don't know if it's sadder if that is Zas's alt or if there is a regular person who exists that feels the need to go around defending him.
  6. I mean, would it even be an RVD match if there weren't some botches and unnecessary stiffness?
  7. It's an unfortunate fact that you'll have some shitty workouts here and there. Don't let it derail you. Just put that one behind you and focus on making the next one better.
  8. Am I wrong, or do they seem a bit below "retiring their numbers"-tier players?
  9. Nichols and Bayless on the same show is definitely a circle of hell for me.
  10. Damn. I thought this was a really solid show. Not exceptional, but very solid. Bucks/Hardys was way better than I thought it'd be. The BBC/Lucha Bros tag was the best Fenix and Penta have looked in a normal tag in quite a while, IMO. I actually thought Anna Jay looked better than she ever has in her match. She was mostly hitting stuff clean and was in position really well. I think they botched the finish, but can't put that all on her. I'm guessing Parker was supposed to put her hand on the rope? The JAS thing moved enough that it didn't overstay it's welcome. My daughter is firmly team Roddy after MJF talked shit about Hello Kitty and Taylor Swift, two of her absolute favorite things. Mogul Embassy (still don't like that name) might be the most visually-impressive factions going. Now that Cage is embracing the LOD look, they all look like uniquely-badass dudes. It wasn't a home run, but I thought this episode delivered on pretty much everything while nothing actively stunk.
  11. The show's not booked yet, so how can you say it's booked as a "whatever" show?
  12. Ok, now I want Kingston back for All Out. He wins his match, but then some heel group starts beating him down. Kawada comes out and starts Kawada-kicking everyone in his way. He and Eddie stand tall. That’s it. I’d be so happy just for that.
  13. She's like a stunt granny, but a kid.
  14. Did you take over bass-playing duties from the Hulkster?
  15. They did: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1799516/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk It...didn't do well.
  16. I just ordered that shirt Bret is wearing for myself!
  17. Damn. Now I’m really sad that we never got to see what a Flair/Steamboat WWF match would look like.
  18. There were on opposite sides of a pretty awesome Survivor Series tag in 95, too. That’s an underrated show, overall. Also really liked the wild card SS match and Bret/Diesel is really good.
  19. I always figure if I lose a long post, it's the universe's way of telling me no one wanted to hear my bullshit anyway.
  20. Speaking of Swerve, dude has really bulked up. I know he was with Wayne and Fox, who are slimmer guys, but he looked jacked in that segment.
  21. What exactly is Hayter's injury? Was it something with her shoulder?
  22. 1000% agree with all of this. Rez Dogs is the kind of thing that makes me so, so happy to get to watch. Knowing how things usually work in Hollywood, it’s like this show shouldn’t even get greenlit. But it did, and it’s so funny and sad and heartwarming and heartbreaking and I’m just so glad it exists.

    NFL 2023 PRESEASON

The lion is definitely a bad idea. Mainly because I can totally see the team being down at halftime and Campbell trying to get the handlers to let him fight the lion to get them pumped up for the second half.
  24. Re: Lance Archer. I've been thinking lately that the AEW tag roster needs a Skyscrapers-type team (and a Road Warriors-type team, too!), and that Archer would be great as half of that team. Not sure who for the other, though. Re: Peter Avalon. I had the opportunity to run camera for a couple Derby City Wrestling shows where he got to do some character stuff, and he was really great at it, IMO. He just really pulls off that delusional heel thing where he believes he's a lot cooler than he really is. If the YouTube shows were still around, I'd like to think he'd get some shine there.
  25. Well, my last name is English, though I don't think I have much English blood in me (mainly Italian/German, I'm basically "generic white"). Anyhoo, had a string of shitty workouts last week. I don't know what my deal was. I have plenty of days I don't feel like working out, but am able to put in a good one. Last week, that was not happening. You all ever hear of athletes getting the "yips" where they just start thinking too much about their form on something and it breaks down? I was having that with my squat. It's just like, every rep, I would forget some piece of it. Luckily, this week, it started moving again. I put up 275 lbs for three smooth reps at the end of my sets, and it felt right. Oh, and I'll put this story here (Natural will get a kick out of this). Over the summer, my son (6) has been going to YMCA camp during the day. Apparently, the first week he was there, he started an arm wrestling group. He claimed to be undefeated after two weeks. I'm pretty sure he just wasn't including any kids that seemed like they might beat him in the group. Last week, I'm working out in the basement, and he comes home from camp and heads straight down and asks if he can work out with me. Sure, I love it. He tells me he finally lost an arm wrestling match that day. So, he goes through a few exercises. Some push-ups (surprisingly great form for a kid his age!), rows with some little dumbbells, some curls, etc. He comes home the next day and tells me he beat the kid he lost to before! Must've been that one day of training that did it for him.
