  1. Wish I had more of a Road Report. Had to rush home from work, get some kids fed and get down to the show since my wife was traveling for work. Little dude had a great time. He got to see everyone he wanted to see: Cody, Knight and Mysterio (dark match). Wasn’t too happy with him when he yelled, “Beat the shit out of him!” to Kevin Owens, but the people around us were amused. For me, the highlight was Ciampa/Andrade in one of those Twitter matches. They stiffed the ever loving shit out of each other for two minutes. Ciampa got his nose busted up good on an elbow. Andrade/Ricochet had one of those matches later and it was ok. Cool concept with the short time limit, but they just worked it like a shorter, normal match. Seems like there is something. There for guys to get creative with if they choose to, though. Actual Smackdown was fine. I was impressed with Carmelo Hayes. Still don’t get the appeal of LA Knight. Nothing else in the show made me want to tune in next week.
  2. If you’re a grown person, and you’ve got tickets to go see a pro wrestling show, there’s something I’d like you to think about. When you get to the show, I hope you have a wonderful time and you cheer or boo whoever you’d like. I hope you get excited for things that happen at the show and react to them as you see fit. However, maybe let’s think twice before you decide to be the guy who yells “funny” stuff. You may have a couple good ones. You may get some positive reactions from the people in earshot of you. That’s great. But, there’s probably a bigger chance that you are being incredibly annoying to those around you. We don’t need to hear every “clever” thought that pops in your head. It’s ok to keep some things to yourself. We had one of these guys by us at Smackdown last night. We’ve had one by us at pretty much every WWE or AEW show we’ve been to in the last couple years. It’s not ruined the experience or anything dramatic like that, but it does lessen it. So, this is just a long-winded PSA to remind people that you’re not always as entertaining as you or your couple buddies you’re at the show with might think you are.
  3. With all the talk of Lebron wanting to play with his son in the league, I wonder if there's a smaller/mid-market team that would reach for Bronny too early in the draft just to try to get dad, too. Probably not, but the exposure of having him on your team, possibly doing his "farewell tour" with his son would probably bring in a few bucks.
  4. I'd rather them ditch the Continental title and keep the International simply because I like the belt itself better. Or, really, maybe let the Continental be like the G-1 where its not a title per se with a belt and all, but is still prestigious in and of itself? I'm not really an "AEW has too many belts!" guy, but I'm starting to lean that way.
  5. It's funny that the word on MJF was that he was this amazing promo talent but a little lacking in-ring. I find him to be waaaaay better of a wrestler than a promo. He can bring the fire when he wants to, but so much of the time he goes for the lazy punchline/payoff.
  6. You actually nailed it. I was really skimping on my warmups for a bit there. I'm not big on stretching before I lift, but I like to do some active warmups. For squats, it was some one-leg, heel touch squats on the stairs. Then these (I forget the name) stretches where you're on one knee and your other leg's foot is facing out from your body while you hold a weight down in front of you and lean into the "up" leg. It gives the hips and lower back a nice warm up. Last, some squat holds while holding a plate in front of me. I think I found the warmup on a Squat University video. That only takes a couple minutes, then I usually do a couple sets with just the bar and then three warm-up sets increasing the weight with each one, but keeping it light. Honestly, I just got lazy and started barely doing any warmup. I'd go straight to the sets with the bar. I thought I'd be fine with just that, but obviously I need more. For deadlift, I just started doing a new warmup that I really like:
  7. "Fall of WCW" is up there with Montreal for things I just don't want to hear about anymore. It's been done to death. Are there really going to be any new insights from this series?
  8. No, he gets to do Smackdown live tomorrow, so he's happy. He and his sister fight with each other enough. I don't need either one of them getting good at it!
  9. I had a couple months of consistently getting my workouts in, but them being shit. I really don't know what happened. I just lost my form in my major lifts, particularly squat and deadlift. I couldn't do either without tweaking my back every time, no matter how low the weight. FINALLY, in the last four weeks or so, I've come back around. I just went from the ground up on those lifts and concentrated on my form. Weight is now moving nicely and I feel great. I'm also working in more conditioning on the Peloton. An aside, but they have a new-ish feature where you can watch Netflix, YouTubeTV, etc. on there and just ride. So, instead of laying on the couch watching Dynamite last night, I just did a light ride for about an hour of the show. I'm trying to just generally be more active, too. I have a desk job, so I try to get up and walk regularly and take longer walks at lunch when I can. Starting next week, I'm going with a "back to basics" kind of 5/3/1 program and just hitting the major lifts hard with minimal accessories. Just some heavy dumbbell rows and core work. Going to do that a couple days a week along with at least two hard bike rides and one long walk or easy ride.
  10. So, I got invited to go to UFC this Saturday in Louisville. I am woefully out of touch with current MMA. Anything worth looking out for in particular on this card?
  11. I'm really digging them getting away from FD being strictly New Japan/AEW and bringing in CMLL and Stardom.
  12. Really fun show overall. Personal highlights were the dancing granny and Big Bill laughing and saying, “You got me!” when Daddy Magic insulted him. Fenix/Osprey is going to be insane next week.
  13. I haven't got to dive in yet, but I'm just shocked to learn that the DC/Baltimore area had television in the late 19th century!
  14. Well, damn. At least the boy will be happy for Cody and Knight.
  15. Lucky for him, the late-90's were an amazing time for off-putting and sleazy.
  16. Is Gunther on Smackdown? Taking the boy to see it live Friday and hoping to get to see him.
  17. You know, that's funny. It has never occurred to me before this moment that IRS and The Million Dollar Man should not have been allies. Totally should have been antagonists.
  18. Clark just needs to get on some MJ "...and I took that personally" shit.
  19. Sahadi is a huge loss for them, imo. He’s an amazing director and really works with the talent and the crew to make everything look great. I had nothing but positive experiences with him and he seemed to be very well-liked by everyone in front of and behind the camera with TNA.
  20. Like, in the last couple years?
  21. “I WROTE A HIT PAY PER VIEW!”
  22. I finally watched The Conversation this weekend. Technically, just an insane movie, especially considering it was pre-digital, etc. Biggest surprise for me was that 1. Harrison Ford is in it and 2. he has a pretty big part. Loved the ending, loved it all.
  23. Magazines are crazy expensive now.
  24. I’m fine with it happening wherever, just so it happens.
