My conclusion, without the vendetta against Spider-Man, Venom is a sub-par hero. This is what you're left with:

I like that Venom’s cornered the market on lightweight dudes rock comic book movies. Also love a blissful 90 minute runtime.  Hardy is a lot of fun here; I hope he has better dialogue to work with when this is followed up in whatever comes next. Not essential viewing by any means but perfectly fine.

I’m happy that the Venom integration into the MCU is a multiverse thing and not him just saying, “Let’s go to New York, where all of this wild shit has been going on for a decade and we’ve just never mentioned it.”
