APRIL WRESTLING DISCUSSION THREAD
cubbymark replied to Bustronaut's topic in The PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
Let's all laugh at Davey Richards instead, because, why the hell not? -
FA says "NO" to Hull Tigers. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/26960502
-
May in his eternal rest, he be greeted with "I Say Nay Nay."
-
The Shield is basically a Michael Tarver tribute act. With an odd bit of Aces and Eights, if it actually got over.
-
Ugh, I HATE that crab walk. The more reason you kick him in his fucking face because he's defenseless. Or JYD to headbutt him from that spot.
-
You must have missed her trying to run for her life. Perhaps, but she ended up sprawled out on the arena floor. But it's the thought that counts.

For as much as people are praising Stephanie for her shit-talking, Heyman was working overtime to get people invested. Madusa of all people put Heyman over huge on Twitter.
-
Did Stephanie legit sprain her ankle during Bryan's tope in the main event? Crazy enough to catch the dive, even crazier to do it in heels. Good grief.

Match of the night was Bryan/Hunter. 21-1 was the biggest jaw-dropping moment as a fan I've had seen seeing Punk win at MITB in Chicago. Worst match is either the Divas debacle or Cena/Wyatt. Main event was insane. Orton taking the RKO onto a TV monitor had to SUCK.

[WWE NETWORK] Technical and General Content Question/Comments

Stream was fantastic for me tonight. -
Refreshes didn't fix it either. Oh well, I can deal with it.

It was worlds better than "DGUSA" so in that respect, the Network will have my attention on Mania Saturday. Lita's speech was awesome if only because for better or worse it showed off the "world traveler" she was. She did a better job of promoting CMLL than CMLL could ever do themselves, willingly or unwillingly. And her usage of props (i.e. Rayo De Jalisco Jr's mask, the $20 bill and having Arn/Rey do a toast) was fantastic. The fans really should have shut the fuck up during Jake's speech if only because his voice is wrecked from years of the wreckless lifestyle that made it hard at times to make out what he was trying to say. And for being "unedited" the Network sure did a lot of editing/censoring.

In honor of Warrior's induction, I watched his two most prolific Mania matches, 6 vs. Hogan and 7 vs. Savage. I had seen Hogan/Warrior before, but the commentary of Jesse and Gorrilla make it mean so much more. Very smart and engaging. There were long rest hold segments but they had a rhyme and reason. 7 vs Warrior I had never seen before and holy shit, that was a fucking awesome match. Savage is a miracle worker, and Sherri was no slouch either. Sherri fighting tooth and nail to help Savage win, cheating at every corner and showing the desperation of what a loss would mean to her was brilliant. So much story telling with Savage nailing Warrior with 5 elbows off the top and couldn't get it done. Warrior doubting himself after Savage kicked out of his finishing combination, but finally winning after successive shoulder blocks had tossed Randy to the floor each time, each shoulder block more vicious and powerful than the one before it. The post match stuff escalates things even further with Sherri turning on Savage after losing, and Elizabeth making the save. Sherri took a crazy ass bump to the floor when Elizabeth pulled her away from Savage. And Macho, who may have lost the match, reuniting with Elizabeth. That's pro wrestling, motherfuckers (with all apologies to Mr. T's mother of course...)

El Torino is a hero. How many high school girls in Memphis did he save tonight? Middle school girls even according to Doug Gilbert. -
Warrior got lost towards the end, but hey, it's his moment.

Honestly, if there were only 1 song that WWE should get the rights to, it should be Miserlou for the "Pulp Fiction Promos."
-
I didn't want to bring him up because it was so long ago, but yeah. It's hard to not mention him and molestation charges that took him off TV. Didn't he allegedly do that to one of the actual on-air assistants on his show?

Most of the cooking shows I watch or have watched have been through my local PBS affiliate. None of them really cause me to rage in anger, although Jacques Pepin' French accent is very thick. Nick Stellino is someone I've enjoyed over the years. Is he still kicking around the tires somewhere. Lidia's Kitichen is pretty cool as well.

That's just throwing a bunch of shit on the wall and hoping something sticks. Speaking of Torres...http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/26888788 Mourinho says he has a future with Chelsea.

Darrell Green, Doug Williams, Mark Rypien, John Riggins, and the aforementioned Art Monk The answer is always Dave Butz. Or for a legitimate throwback, Sammy Baugh.

Baez is still a ways away, if only for Super 2 reasons. And jeez, losing in 16 might be indicative of how long a year it will be. On the bright side, Bonifacio helped me place for $ for the first time in an MLB DraftKings contest. Good for Buehrle. I'm always respected him even when he played for the White Sox.

If Atletico is as good next year as they've been this year Real isn't guaranteed La Liga next year.

In Puebla's defense, they're in the thick of a relegation battle with Atlante. Doesn't make it any less douchey.

I'm surprised the Pop Gunners aren't playing the Red Bulls at MetLife Stadium.
