  1. The anger will help keep me warm.
  2. Barret Robbins to do the "drops off the apron when his partner tries to tag him and walks out" spot.
  3. Hey, the first five reviews for 50 Shades of Grey are up on Rotten Tomatoes... and... they're all positive. And from pretty reputable sources, too. That was unexpected.
  4. Yeah, I'd have Avengers, Jurassic World, and Minions as the top 3 in some order. If they can show the Mad Max trailer in front of Furious 7, that could be the start of something big.
  5. I really like how the summer is looking. There's a clear top three for box office IMO, then past that it gets very dicey. Actually, why not, that #4 slot is prime real estate for Straight Outta Compton. Book it!
  6. Oh wow, okay. I didn't pick up on that aspect of it. Need to rewatch the last five minutes.
  7. Technico Support from the January thread: Saw it last night. You're right, it's an extremely contrived story, but it's good. Ethan Hawke's foray into genre films is paying dividends. It's funny, he's going to be starring in another movie this year called "Regression", and I know I'm going to get it confused with this one.
  8. They flexed in Raptors-Clippers back when Toronto was leading the East. I'm pretty sure the originally scheduled game was Knicks-Nets. "So why couldn't they change it again" - don't know.
  9. SKoS, you mentioned in your earlier post that Stewart/Binoche was stunt casting. Can you elaborate why? I feel like I'm missing something obvious, but my brain can't quite put it together. Apparently the meaning of "stunt casting" isn't what I thought it was, but I just intended it to mean casting for the purpose of getting attention. I was referring to Stewart having a reputation as a terrible actress (which, after this + Camp X-Ray + Still Alice, is seeming more and more undeserved) and Binoche having a reputation as a great actress, and the majority of this movie being scenes with just the two of them. Also Chloe Grace Moretz's character is (in very broad terms) essentially what Stewart is in real life - a young celebrity actress with a bad reputation and paparazzi following her around. Honestly that's probably closer to Lindsay Lohan, but it kind of works with Stewart if you think of the period where her relationship with Robert Pattinson was ending. Like if you put, I don't know, Elizabeth Olsen in Stewart's role, she might very well do a better job with it, but the movie would lose a lot of its appeal to me.
  10. Re White Dog, I'm under the impression that that's an actual thing that happens. Probably not to the point of killing, but dogs can be trained to be more aggressive towards people who look a certain way. There's a Criterion version of the movie, they must at least touch on it in the extras. Also the movie is great. Burl Ives throws syringes at a lifesize cardboard cutout of R2-D2!
  11. So like, would they say "We won't have Anderson for a while, so now we really need Brock"? I probably know only slightly more than you, but I think the answer is no. I don't think they feel like they need any one particular guy, at least in the short term.
  12. From the five thirty eight link. This is what I was thinking. You have to pass on either second or third down in order to give yourself three chances at scoring the touchdown.
  13. Bruce Irvin's Wikipedia entry predictably now states "He was ejected from the Superbowl, being a sore loser."
  14. Average life expectancy of a U.S. male is 77.4 years. Vince is a little past 69 years and 5 months.
  15. I'm reading this discussion on another board about the possibility that they would do a misguided tribute and CGI in a Harold Ramis cameo as a ghost. It's 100% pure speculation, but everyone is having this hilarious reaction like "No... they couldn't possibly actually seriously do that, right? RIGHT? Please god no."

  17. Also, someone remind me how long Rollins has to use the briefcase? Is it until the end of Wrestlemania 31, or is it technically one year from Wrestlemania XXX (so April 6, 2015)?
  18. Couple of things on the triangle match. We've seen table spots and finisher kickouts before. For me, what made the match great was that there was a clear power hierarchy. Lesnar > Cena > Rollins. They threw in a couple of Superman spots for Cena to remind you that he was above Rollins. I loved the idea of Cena and Rollins having to team up to take out Lesnar, then going after each other, not because they're fighting over the pinfall, but because they believe they have a better chance of winning the match against each other than they do even against a hurt Lesnar. 50-50 booking robs you of these sorts of things. When Lesnar was down on the outside, Cena and Rollins were doing some really great work, but I wasn't buying any of the near falls because I was thinking Brock had to be involved in the finish. The longer they went, the more certain I was that Brock had to come back. Then J&J got involved again, and IMO the match started going downhill a little. Then Rollins went up for what I was thinking would be a moonsault, BOOM Phoenix Splash, and just when I was starting to think that I might actually buy THAT as a near fall, BOOM Lesnar pops up and is back in the ring again (I was thinking he'd, like, be crawling back into the ring). Those two moments right on top of each other cemented the greatness. I'm also glad Cena didn't kick out of the Phoenix.
  19. Clouds of Sils Maria is now listed as 2015 on Rotten Tomatoes
  20. So this is a horror movie... with Olivia Wilde, Mark Duplass and Donald Glover... directed by the same guy who directed Jiro Dreams of Sushi??
  21. Pats win by 35. Post-game, the team and coaching staff take to the field and do a Rockettes-style chorus line with kicks. Boston newspapers run "U MAD?" headlines on Monday morning.
  22. The most plausible response I've heard to that is "yes, the refs would be able to tell, but a lot of teams probably do this sort of thing and it's not something that anyone cared about until now". I think the best analogy is to Jacques Demers calling for a measurement of Marty McSorley's stick in game 2 of the 1993 Stanley Cup finals, which got the Canadiens a late power play and allowed them to tie the game and win it in overtime. Except here, there's no prescribed penalty for playing with illegal game balls. But I do think the punishment should be, like, a 15-yard penalty on the Patriots or something on the one play, rather than fining them millions of dollars and suspending everyone for a year and taking away their draft picks.
