  1. This MST3K style riffing on his name is glorious. Quality entertainment reading these at work.
  2. Especially if it was run by Mick Foley. But if they every did do the camps like they used to who would you use? I believe Finlay's still there so why not him? Maybe they can promote Sarah D'Amato full-time to the main roster and do camps with them. Once Sarah Stock gets acclimated to the training she could take over D'Amato's role at the Performance Center.
  3. Honestly, I really like the idea of Brown Strongbad. The old school vibe of super monster being impossible to take down can and will work. Sure, you'll have those who can't take a face like his seriously, but he could be effective. And it's one helluva upgrade from being the strong Rosebud. I feel if anything he needs a hurty-looking slam either as a finisher or a setup to the submission. Build it up that either one can finish a match and it could work.
  4. I feel like I need to call 900-909-9900 to find out the full details of this.
  5. Wrestling doesn't exactly have a pristine reputation to begin with. It was hard to convince people otherwise if they went solely on the "Wrestling is fake" line. Then you toss in people dying of drugs and word on concussions comes out. And of course the Benoit situation, that took a long time to get over that one. What makes it easier is there is a lot of good shit out there that doesn't involve WWE. NJPW, lucha, ROH, LU if/when they come back, good local indies, there's a lot to check out. And WWE's not going to collapse if Vince gets in trouble. If anything it would be a blessing in disguise. There's Steph and HHH and I feel pretty good about them taking over. Sure they'll take a hit but they'll find a way to bounce back. This is of course if Vince gets in trouble. Considering it's been so long he might be fine barring any evidence.
  6. I could go for a thread full of ways to say Braun Strowman.
  7. There's pretty much zero equivalence between murdering someone and saying a bad word. Point taken, was a dumb post in hindsight. I do remember when hearing about it around 2005 or so. Always felt that was true and just didn't think much of it. So when I read the case was re-opened it was only a mayer of time before he would get charged. Guess we'll see how bad he gets it and if Vince can find a way out of any punishment. Given Snuka's supposed financial woes he's going to have a tough time for sure.
  8. Hot damn, first Hogan gets caught and now Snuka's been charged. Damn, with all that time Piper was heeling on them turns out they were the biggest jerks of all. I would imagine Vince would get hit in some way with obstruction of justice. Yeah, Jerry McDevitt will work his magic to make the punishment as minimal as possible. But this can still hurt a lot with shareholders if it all goes to hell.
  9. I want to think Tamina would be fine, she's part of Team BAD and taking her out would be too obvious for those that know. It wasn't her fault or anything, just unfortunate that her dad killed his girlfriend.
  10. There's people like them with pretty much everything. You don't hear about them unless they either make the news like this guy or they're associated with a fandom that's hated by most. Lots of fucked up people in this world.
  11. If by some chance Tyson does wrestle again, that might end up being one of the most inspirational wrestling stories you'll find anywhere. A man that should have died or ended up a quadriplegic and he somehow returns to the ring? Tell me you wouldn't get emotional seeing that. Considering all the crazy shit that's gone down the last couple days (including today) I'm down with focusing on the Power of Positivity.
  12. That's quite possible. I was thinking somebody in the Center went crazy and shots were fired. Still fucked up no matter what it ended up being.
  13. I have a bad feeling about that also. Seriously, it's a bit troubling that all this crazy shit has gone on in the past couple days. Just a huge, huge WTF situation all over the place.
  14. Catching up on this thread since Friday, a lot of crazy shit went down. There's crazy fans, Nazi supporters and the Bram situation. What a fucking crazy three days. -Seth really should choose his girlfriends wisely. Maybe instead of the crazy women he should go for more of a girl next door type this time around. I don't believe Seth shares any of those beliefs but for however long they've been together I wonder if he ever stopped and thought "Wait, what the fuck are you saying? Who is this girl?" -Scary situation for Dean. Whether it was a sharp object or not that's not a good situation to be in. -And I knew nothing about Bram when he was in TNA in NXT. I don't know if he had any dark past like that beforehand, but what a fucked up situation. Good on TNA for removing him.
  15. When I posted about the buffering issues, I tweeted to the Network support team and got a quick response. They gathered some basic information and said they'd work on it. The next day Alvarez gets tons of tweets saying it's not buffering anymore. I don't know if they saw his tweets and acted on it or something else they saw. But it is smooth as can be now. Have no issues now watching any of the old stuff.
  16. I am so happy yet so jealous for you lucky gents who were able to go to this. Your reactions have me supper giddy to see how this played out. I'll get the DVD, sure, but man I could really go for next day on-demand like ROH does. Star-studded attendees, insane matchups, and I'm sure a crazy as fuck atmosphere. Shit, this is going to be so much fun to watch. So glad you guys had fun, and happy to read Pentagon, Jr remember Tromataker. Good stuff.
  17. Holy shit, that's powerful. I remember watching the tapes and DVDs of FMW and he was very fun to watch. It was so sad hearing about his paralysis. To see that is so wonderful. Good for him.
  18. I was okay to a point with that team the Briscoes faced. However, the one guy sent Mark over the top early in the match and it was dangerous as fuck. Not sure if Mark didn't jump far enough or it was the other guy's fault, but that looked nasty as hell.
  19. MVP recently switched carriers and now has El Rey Network. It's pretty amazing when somebody gets it for the first time and has that "Holy shit, look at all this!" feeling. Him going on about Shaw Bros. movies and how he grew up with them is pretty damn cool. And holy fuck Five Fingers of Death is still so fucking awesome. It's super badass and the music is ultra memorable. Not just the one that's used in Kill Bill, but that fast drum song where you know shit's about to get real. So good, might have to track down those songs.
  20. Just don't have Corino announce. We don't want to kill the poor guy with how many times he'd yell "SUPERKIIIIIIIIIIIICK!!!!!!!!!!"
  21. Was trying to post some long-ass paragraph about this, but due to work for the sake of time I'll put it like this: Bryan's win was special largely because of what he went through before WWE. The fact he overcame the BS angles they put him through (plus some pure luck) definitely helped. That, and his ride to the top was not smooth with all that Authority shit. Bayley's rise was more emotionally rewarding. Greggulator's better at explaining the hows and whys of it, but her rise from goofy fan-girl who loved robots to champion was very special. In the process she earned respect from three formerly bitchy women and earned a massive following with kids and adults alike. With the stories and twists and turns she had to go through it was an amazing ride. Yeah, I was ecstatic for Bryan's win, but with Bayley there was that extra special something that really put it over the top. As for the four-way match last night, felt bad for Becky, you could see the frustration on her face. But they did what they could to make chicken salad out of chicken shit.
  22. I dunno, Tamina was awesome dealing with the bald drunk.
  23. I'm not one to rate matches using the star method, but man I'm having a hard time deciding which match I like better. Sasha/Becky was tremendous with the arm work and intensity of the match. Becky's reaction at the end was so real and added a lot to what they went through. But Bayley's match had the big-time emotional investment on top of an excellent match. I'm very barely going with Sasha/Bayley. The hand work was top notch (stomping it while in the Bank Statement was tremendous) and the intensity Bayley brought added tons to the match. Add to that the Dusty wristbands and curtain call afterwards and it was easily MOTN. But it is telling that two of the best women's matches of the year involved Sasha. It's stunning how for a few years in wrestling and less than half of that as a heel she's so fucking good. She's an absolute gem. It's been said before, but she truly needs to be in March Madness and there's not one bit of irony about that.
  24. It's astonishing how it's so easy to apply simple logic into this show yet it's a daunting task to make some of the stuff at Summerslam and Raw make any kind of sense. If you told an outsider they're under the same WWE umbrella they'd be shocked and think you're full of it.
  25. And then he turns on them either later in the show or next week, because of said nonsensical shit WWE would do.
