I didn't realize what that was until today. Sadly by then the craze has already been killed dead by local newscasters. You know the "trying to be cool" moms will do that next. I did love New Day slipping in the 1999 reference for Prince, nice touch.

That carried over for me as well. Oddly enough I can see everything on my phone, but not on any computers (tried a couple) There's photos or gifs that will only show the file name or even just have a dash. I find the wrestling photo/gif threads pointless to try unless it's on my phone.

I don't know how this hasn't had any posts since the season premiere, but holy crap this is a fun season. I'm loving the PI route they're going with Cyril in "charge" And Krieger's crazily creepy self came into play last episode. Fun stuff.

APRIL 2016 WRESTLING DISCUSSION THREAD

I was going to post that until it got busy at work. But yep, that's who I first though of. Oh, and Archer rules and you all should be watching. -
I'm so glad they're airing the title match on NXT tomorrow, going to be crazy to see not only the match but Joe's full celebration.

If I had to choose between having Nazis own it or folding the company, I'd just fold the company. Even if Aeroluxe took over Pop would ditch them first chance they get over that. After that who would be stupid enough to take them? Either way they're going to fold. And if she's looking for somebody else, well she's pretty fucked in that case. What''s baffling to me is instead of being honest to whatever fanbase is left she's going completely delusional in her social media approach. It appears she's having wrestlers tweet #lowmorale or something like that trying to mock the "haters". The whole "I don't know what you're talking about, everything's fine!" approach is not only wrong but insulting to those that know what's going on. Stupid Dixie.

Just an assumption, don't really know/care if that part's true. Clark Gregg and Hayley Atwell were on Lip Sync Battle recently. The two main things I got from it were 1. If you liked Hayley before, you're really going to like her more, and 2. Clark will do something that is straight up horrifying. Definitely worth checking out though.

I've never seen any of the Toxic Avenger movies, so thankfully this is being remedied. That first one was super sleazy and wrong, yet so, so right at the same time. I loved it, and proceeded to record the rest. It's so absurd you just can't help but love the shit out of it. My wife was super excited about the cartoons so can't wait to see them. Thank you El Rey, thank you so very much. Oh, and I'm curious about what they'll show for Cinco de Mayhem as the clips they showed looked nice and brutal.

I think George's son grinning like mad is what seals it for me. It's almost like he's thinking "Holy crap, my dad would have loved this!" And the others are tickled pink by the solo. It's one of those things that's worth seeing many, many times, it's just so mesmerizing. And that guitar toss...I know that's his thing but many are calling that one helluva "drop the mike" moment and I wholeheartedly agree.

That guy is what MVP would call a flatscan, no brain activity whatsoever. What an insensitive idiot, just do your blanket condolences statement and shut up about it.

When that aired I can't remember how many times I saw that. The way he did that for one of my favorites Beatles songs give me MASSIVE goosebumps. That was around the time I started to appreciate just how good he can be with the guitar and seeing that floored me. It's amazing how much celebration there is for his life. Paisley Park constantly has tons of people there, and the club where he did "Purple Rain" has a weekend dance party for him. And then you see many other big cities and what they're doing for him and it's astounding just how beloved he was/is. The more I see and the more I hear his stuff the past couple days it really hits hard that he's gone.

I don't know what's more amazing, the fact that Kenny's a super cool guy or the fact that he's playing at EVO. I know the guy in-ring is goofy as all hell and is an acquired taste. But Kenny the person just seems like a great guy. Also get a kick out of his finisher being named after Final Fantasy. -
I guess I'll be guy excited for Finn likely debuting on the MR. I'm going to Raw in late May and would be over the moon ecstatic if I see Finn and some semblance of the Bullet Club. That'd be weird as weird can get, but damnit I'd lose my mind. And very happy for Joe, so glad he's returned to form and gets a chance at the top spot.

Hmm...let's see...do we kill off the woman that guys drool over, or the guy that girls drool over. Either way somebody's going to be sad/pissed. But I can see Lincoln dying, for added effect he dies right after he's able to cure her from Hive. That, or she kills him while under control and only fully realizes what she did after she's cured.

I could have sworn Aerostar did something close to that last season and it blew my mind. I'm very forgiving of that botch, and Matt/Vampiro did their best to make it somehow work. Also liked Drago showing probably legit concern but it made sense because they're friends and don't necessarily want to destroy each other. Calls of him maybe holding back a little added to the overall story.

Curt, I just saw that (Comcast's X1 system is awesome for watching TV live) I remembered seeing that at the time and it was controversial yet got people talking for sure. Was pretty wild, man.
-
Yes, yes you very much should. You might not be a big fan on the first two episodes, but from 3 on it gets better and better.
-
I wouldn't listen to anybody that hated on that, that got a lot of play on my tape player. Might have to find that and give it another playthrough, I'm sure I have a tape player somewhere. Aw, man, just thought about the halftime show with him in the shadow. When he raised the guitar and it looked like a huge member my family got a huge kick out of it. I just stood there thinking "That is an incredibly gutsy move, and I love him for that." Greatest halftime show ever is an understatement, unless proven otherwise nothing comes close.

I'm very guilty of doing it this year. You're right that in that it's not like it's some strange act of God that declared all these famous people would die. But when remembering what 2016 brings one of the main things people will think about is that all these famous people died. Silly, yes. Understandable, I'd believe so. That said, this really hurts. I had a chance to see Prince a block away from my work yet was busy with the family. It was soon after the Baltimore riots and his theme was that of elevating spirits as much as possible. He talked about the riots and put on a fantastic show. Now I sit here with a ton of regret wondering why I didn't go to the show. First song I heard from him was the song he did for the first Batman movie and I just loved that song so much. Not long after I heard his other hits and the guy was absolutely tremendous. It's amazing how he changed his name to a symbol as an FU to the company he was with at the time. After going on his own the amount of albums he put out is staggering. He made some very ballsy moves and with his talents it worked out wonderfully for him. It all feels like a big shock right now, just having a hard time processing this right now. It takes me back to when Michael Jackson died and I was at computer school. During class break everybody was in the hallways talking about it, and during class people were going on Youtube watching his videos. Now I sit her at work and with not much going on will stream MTV to watch his videos. RIP, Prince.

Curt, that was a great article, thanks for posting that. I worry that if Boyle Heights ends up being gentrified, cool shit like LU wouldn't stand a chance there. While their tactics might be extreme for some, I'm hoping they win in the long run. Seeing a place I grew up gentrified is sad at times and I feel nostalgic thinking about the charm it had, now lost to a bunch of hipsters. Ugh. Back on-topic, I was so hoping for Fenix/Drago/Aerostar. That would have been the absolute best, and them against Rey/Puma/Dragon would have ruled. But I liked what they did instead. Drago-Aerostar was super fun, and good on the crowd for being so forgiving for Aerostar's botch. The Black/Evans/Fenix team is wonderfully wacky and I got a kick out of the dynamic they had. I guess the one disciple is a disciple no more, that was a super cool video. And Mil/Matanza was all kinds of brutally fun without giving too much away. At the end I was begging for more, and I'm sure we're going to get that. Great episode! And was that really Lorenzo Lamas I saw at the end? Damn. And I got a hearty laugh seeing Alberto's photo under the Missing section.

And with that what's to happen to the three that didn't get infected? Mack was getting awfully close to the Columbian woman, but even after it's proven she wasn't infected it'd be silly for them to just go "My bad, now let me show you my room" And then there's the other guy who is too paranoid from it all and wants to leave (blanking on their names today) Daisy's guy will likely be all kinds of torn and we'll have to see that play out for at least an episode and a half. I still like where they're going with this, but man do I wish they went at certain things a different way. That said, I liked heel Daisy and am curious what she does from here. But I have this bad feeling she'll be the one to get killed off due to things backfiring and I'll be sad. On a positive note, about time Fitz and Simmons got through those weird stages and are now a couple. This time around there isn't any BS about some guy on another planet or them recovering from some traumatic event, so that's nice.
-
Aw, man, Mil/Matanza tonight is going to be insane. Since it's on 4/20, I'd really hope those partaking check this out. Imagine (assuming it's your stereotypical "Far out, man!" stoner) that they see this match and all the freaky shit that will happen. Their minds will surely be blown. Or they'll just go with "Half Baked" yet again which will be their loss.
-
I really want to hate Total Bellas, but there's something wacky about what appears to be all of them in one place. The preview actually sold me on this much more than whatever insufferable crap tends to be on Total Divas Still can't believe Daniel Bryan went from indy star to living in a house with WWE's top guy. Oh, and can't forget Johnny Ace. This seems like a fun time.

That's a good point but if Hive is supposed to be this type of "God" from another planet then I could see him using this trick on the far powerful Inhumans to do his bidding. Why use it on normal humans when you can have somebody cave a guy's skull in like last night? And I wouldn't say the Secret Warriors have been a bust, but do wish they spaced out what was going on. They went from "Hey, guys, we saved the day" to "I don't trust you, I don't trust you, or you, or you..." The reveal could have been next week and it would have been just fine for me. Just wish they did more stuff together to show just how powerful they are as a team before everything fell apart.

And with that Double J will finally have the US TV show for Global Force he was looking for.
