  1. I'm going to leave this thread and go back to the wrestling one before I start suggesting that UFC needs to start having Apuestas fights.
  2. The future is now.
  3. The thing that excites me the most out of this is the idea that Tank Abbott might be able to write an issue of The Incredible Hulk
  4. I feel like the Naomi stuff would be better if the Usos had the belts and Miz was chasing.
  5. I'm going to keep saying this but I'm stupidly excited for Galavant.
  6. I'll take that bold thing over that other thing anyday. Not that I've watched that show because it's on Fox, and I don't watch Fox genre shows until they hit season 3 or 4. Though we are watching Gotham so I don't know what that says about me past that I'm a hypocrite.
  7. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x21qilj_wwf-msg-1979-bob-backlund-vs-pat-patterson_sport I've not watched this yet but people say it's great. In general, anyone interested in Patterson's title run should probably listen to the Titans of Wrestling podcasts.
  8. My limited knowledge of BattlARTS makes me confused at how exact a tag match would work in that setting. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xvm8nu_mil-mascaras-jimmy-snuka-bob-backlund-vs-hector-garza-eliminators-1995-japan_sport Looks like most of the WAR stuff isn't online.
  9. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xegoeb_bret-hart-vs-bob-backlund-pt-1_sport http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xegowq_bret-hart-vs-bob-backlund-pt-2_sport Made more impressive by the fact that this was just a day off of Bret's KOTR performance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5VyGOiXXQ8I https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FuFkMjL-5HM
  10. Yeah, I'm with that. Rey's more than just bouncing off the ropes and flying around. I like watching mid 00s Rey more than mid 90s Rey, for instance and he could DO way more stuff back in the mid 90s. He can take a beating, garner a lot of sympathy, pepper in some great hope spots and make a hot tag as well as just about anyone on the roster, I bet. I'd happily watch something like 30 match Rey/Rowan (or Titus) vs Gold/Stardust series.
  11. I'm wondering if Skye doesn't end up Captain Marvel to be honest.
  12. I'd much rather read Essential Spider-Man 2 than Essential Spider-Man 1.
  13. I'm not always the most perceptive wrestling fan apparently. Matt D Posted 02 December 2013 - 11:00 AM You know, I actually kind of like Pandering Punk. I felt like his babyface run before was a bit too forced with a bit too much pressure. He never seemed like he was enjoying himself because he was trying to be too cool (save for maybe when he brought Fink out). He actually seems to be having a ball now, especially on the apron in tags. That's way worse than me screwing around about Cody Rhodes' facial expressions during dropkicks during March Madness.
  14. http://io9.com/evangeline-lilly-almost-quit-ant-man-when-edgar-wright-1666558394 This is worth reading. It could be spin but I pretty much believe it. I like Wright as much as the next guy but I fully believe that he was going to go way off the rails and probably didn't really want to play ball in the way that they needed him to and that a competent-even-if-not-brilliant corporately minded talent could take most of the best stuff from his script and make it work far better within the MCU than he would have been willing to.
  15. I'm planning on dipping my toes in on the ones that interest me the most (mainly the ones written by Nicieza which is a happy coincidence), and a few others like the Speed Force one and the JLI one, and then I'll just go back to not reading DC at all.
  16. We need a new Clem. I nominate Justin Gabriel.
  17. I honestly wonder why they didn't go with Psycho Pirate instead, unless they're saving him for Crisis stuff in season 2-3.
  18. What's weird is I find Austin, who is from a different generation than me, and is one of the biggest stars of all time far more relatable in his fandom and how he appreciates and interacts with wrestling than I do Cabana who's only a year and a half older than me and probably had a far more similar first 15-16 years of his life as it came to wrestling to me than Austin did..
  19. Diggle was the best part of that episode, and maybe Caitlin being the one to toss out rainbow raider.
  20. Sanderson does teach writing at BYU (or at least he did) and he has writing podcasts and what not, but his work is so thoroughly in his voice. It's extremely easy to recognize his work despite the different subgenres he writes in. It's almost too easy to pick out his personal voice, to be honest, which is the problem I have with Peter David, for instance. That he annotates (eventually) almost every chapter he does on his website is pretty striking too (and part of my own personal problem in not always being able to separate the writer's voice from his work; I read too much about why he did what he did). He's just that prolific.
  21. If Punk comes back does he get fined? EDIT: I also think one reason why Austin always says how much he regrets leaving from a business sense is that he has ex-wives to support.
  22. It's not so cut and dry. Hunter has his opinions. NXT is right there. Steph has hers. The lead writer of Smackdown generally puts together a show that feels different than Raw. People might like watching Titus on Main Event. Maybe people just want to watch the big matches on PPV. I really think that in 2014, if you're watching Raw at 8:00 on Monday night, by yourself, you're doing it wrong. Catch what you want to see on youtube in bits and pieces later in the week. They're not going to give you everything you want? Fine. Don't watch the show the way they want to present it to you. At least watch it how you want and maybe that's on 2x speed or maybe that's just skipping to the matches you care about. I have a lot less time than I used to, but I'm happier watching WWE now than I was when I actually had time to watch the entire show when it aired.
