  1. Saw this on my Facebook feed and thought of this thread immediately.
  2. This show was tremendous. Easily the best SummerSlam since '05. http://jayreviewsthings.blogspot.com/2013/08/wwe-summerslam-2013.html Screens - http://www.imagebam.com/gallery/42w9i7rd4dnix9p9uv4ehlvhxs1lupzz
  3. Hardcore Gamer's review is up - 4.5/5 - http://www.hardcoregamer.com/2013/08/14/review-saints-row-iv/ I should be getting a copy on Tuesday. Talking about it on the podcast recording last night literally had me buying it on Amazon during it.
  4. Here's what I calculated: You bastard, I was doing this too. I'll get my revenge by pointing out the ones you missed! WM 5: Jake/Andre WM 6: Jake/DiBiase WM 8: Taker/Jake WM 20: Evolution vs Rock'n'Sock Jake isn't in the game, but you got me on WM 20. The tag could be in there making it 65 at the most. Likely to be less, of course. I can see them going with Kane-Taker for WM XX like they did on the History of WM DVD.
  5. Loved the prelims and main card. Overeem being owned and Sonnen whooping ass ruled. Some highlights -
  6. Guys back in the day had gimmicks, sorta. Horowitz's was patting himself on the back. Koko had a gimmick - he had a bird, and a tendency to lose a lot once the '80s ended. The Goon was a total jobber and was nothing but a gimmick act.
  7. Heath being a safe worker is probably something that will make him a "job for life" kinda guy. He worked a ton with Bret when he came back, which says a lot about the trust Bret had in him given his health.
  8. Pretty fun show. Nothing was too amazing, and the 6-man tag build and match itself seemed really rushed. I have a really bad feeling about the McMahonamania angle they're building up. I do look forward to Vince being in a new crazy suit each week though. The main event angle was a bit too much, but full of amusing things. http://jayreviewsthings.blogspot.com/2013/08/wwe-sd-8-16-13.html Screens - http://www.imagebam.com/gallery/t0lgxhex2hpkcx18hxh6aem1nlsgutmn
  9. It's a TNA Thread. Give TNA six months before they copy the idea then.
  10. I'm fine with Devon retiring - he really hasn't been all that good in years, and I'm glad that emo AJ is no more.
  11. With "Across the World and the USA" on the back. I demand BSW get on that.
  12. This was a really fun show. It wasn't the best Impact ever, but it greatly exceeded my expectations going in, which honestly weren't that high given how little hype they gave it. The KOs match was a different kind of good than the Gail-Taryn matches we're not going to get for at least a year or so assuming Taryn gets back into wrestling after giving birth. The 4-way ladder match was very good without being too crazy. The table match was the most impressive match, with some awesome spots throughout it. It felt strange to have a show called Hardcore Justice with no hardcore matches and so many 4-ways. 3-ways would've at least been an homage to ECW. Maybe Bully coming out to Tito's theme was one for WCW. Main event was far better than the original Bully-Sabin match - shame Sabin lost it here, as if they'd had this good a match before, maybe his title reign would've gotten off to a better start. http://jayreviewsthings.blogspot.com/2013/08/tna-impact-wrestling-8-15-13-hardcore.html Screens - http://www.imagebam.com/gallery/9yfuo537t4j3xqpjyjd24gorey5i5upf
  13. He's been rollin, rollin, rollin.
  14. He looks more "middle-aged guy hanging around high schools" sleazy. No one tops Mike Davis for looking sleazy on these shows. I was shocked to read that he was 45 when he died since he looked at least that on these shows.
  15. MONSTERS! MONSTERS EVERYWHERE!
  16. Would the world rather see HHH vs Austin or HHH vs Daniel Bryan? I don't think the world wants to see HHH in matches. HHH getting into a program with Bryan now just brings back memories of him shoe-horning himself into an angle with the then-hottest act in Punk two years ago so he can at least attempt to seem relevant. The problem is that being in there with each guy just points out how much fresher each of them feel compared to him, and how much better they are than him at this stage in the game. HHH comes off like the middle-aged dad who throws around modern phrases to try and seem cool, but has no idea what he's saying, so he just comes off as even more out of touch. If they were dead-set on using HHH in a high-profile Wrestlemania match for control of WWE, who should they put in there with him? That's my question. If they use talent already on the roster, who fits? Would they be better off bringing in someone for a short-term gig (not necessarily Austin)? Does your answer depend on whether or not HHH is supposed to win? What if they don't settle on who goes over in the match until the week before Wrestlemania? Cena is Mr. WWE, so he makes sense fighting for Vince. Which itself doesn't make much since right now since Vince said he doesn't like Cena as champ, and is a heel...I think. It's hard to tell with him. He's theoretically one, but the fans cheer him like crazy anyway.
  17. Those were matches that had not been done to death a decade ago. And HHH-Brock was so well received that people were chanting "you tapped out" and singing the goodbye song to HHH after it while he attempted to cry.

  19. Some decent action, although the crowd was dead for a lot of it. Not a fan of HHH being added to the Bryan-Cena match. It doesn't need him, and does just seem like a way to feed his ego. MizTV went on for eons, but had a few good parts in it - largely all due to Bryan. Cena's accidental bird flip was amusing. Battle royal was mostly nothing except for a few spots. Glad to see Show back, even though it doesn't seem to set up anything for the PPV that won't wind up being rushed. The Brock-Punk build was amazing. http://jayreviewsthings.blogspot.com/2013/08/raw-8-12-13.html Screens - http://www.imagebam.com/gallery/6virnmv6yhkpyuohg9y0qmbdy4fo0wc6
  20. If I remember Mick correctly on his newest DVD set, it was a one-off.
  21. Oh my yes. It had all the colors of the rainbow in it. John Tatum has been quite a highlight of these shows - it makes me want to see him in his prime if he's this good past it. Even then, he's still a 52nd degree black belt in Jumbo Tsuruta karate. I like Akbar's updated suit and tie getup - made him look a lot younger.
  22. There have been many contenders for "most insane gear in human history" today.
  23. So it's kind of like becoming the IC Champion then.
  24. I enjoyed this better than last week's show. Trinity cleaning up glass with bare feet was quite goofy, as was her dress. TJ looks so weird with hair. Dude should just keep it shaved - he just does not look like a guy who should have hair. Kinda like Krillin from DBZ. Screens - http://www.imagebam.com/gallery/a32zzenxvtzdexn08u47z7b4q1rgxmx7
