  1. I like that building a lot more than when they run up at the casino. It was a decent little Raw show. It was pretty similar to the MSG card which I couldn't make it to NYC for unfortunately, but no Taker obviously. Hardy/Wyatt vs Axel/Dallas vs Titus/Apollo for the tags Alexander vs Murphy for the CW Mojo vs Roode Alexa/Mickie/Alicia/Liv/Logan vs Ronda/Nia/Nattie/Bayley/Ember Lucha House Party vs Gulak/Kendrick/Gallagher Dolph/Rollins/Balor for the IC Braun/Roman/Lashley vs Owens/Elias/Corbin Definitely far from a sellout but the roof blew off for Ronda and Roman, with some boos peppered in for the latter. I'm gonna be honest, I have a soft spot in my heart for when the gold strap kinda faded to brown when Ahmed Johnson had it. I think mainly because the toy IC belt I had at the time was on a brown foam strap so it kinda lined up better with what lil boy me saw on TV
  2. I went up to the house show in Bridgeport, CT last weekend, not sure where in CT you are but it was a pretty decently fun show
  3. I liked the idea of the WWE and Women's title being the same design when it was just those, but with the addition of the Universal and SD women's it's just too much of the same design-- which frankly, I was never really in love with from the start. And this is not just out of nostalgia for how great the WWF/E world title designs were pre-spinner-- I just think it's kinda butt.
  4. I like that version a lot as a sort of update to the 86-98 version, but it was an infringement on Reggie Parks' design so I get why they couldn't go with it. I like the tighter leather cut around the main plate much more, and the background texturing is cool, but that said, J-mar or Wildcat or whoever it was fucked up the font
  5. I was originally quoting you to bring up the HHH one before I saw the other posts, but didnt ROH also do one back in their early days, or am I imagining things? Hell yeah to all of that (except maybe that last one because I'm weird about it) but especially Cactus/Homicide. That's one I'd have never thought of but I'd really love to see it. I saw Homicide wrestle Steve Corino once live around that time, and they tore it down. And Cactus is one of my top all time favorites up there with Bret and Savage. With Vader's passing, I started watching some of that era of Foley's career on the network so it's real fresh in my mind. In my head, it would play out very much like the beach blast sting match in terms of physicality Questiom for anyone: I stopped watching WWE regularly for a while from like 2007/8ish to 2011, did Flair and Punk ever wrestle?
  6. Is this opinion really unpopular though? I remember this being a talking point for a lot of folks, even outside of wrestling fans, when Darren Aronofsky did The Wrestler and Black Swan back to back.
  7. I rewatched the early RAWs a few years ago when I got the Network, and I really liked some of those call-in segments with Crush and Savage jawing back and forth.
  8. Mitchell/Vandenberg/Sinister Minister is seriously one of the most underrated talents ever. So many guys who had the look or the work but couldn't talk would have benefitted tremendously from him over the years. Id love to see him with a young team somewhere, something Ellering/AOP-esque maybe.
  9. Yes, the bird poop one. I forgot about that whole thing with the USA Today ad and all. I didn't mind the Invasion-era one you posted as much, but i can't really count that since it's a WWF creation. I'm not even sure I liked the OG logo that much, but one thing I did like is how they adapted the colors differently for Nitro, Saturday Night, PPVs, Worldwide, Pro etc. Just a little thing that I always liked. Even the simple black and white WCW/nWo logo looked good on all the 98 PPVs.
  10. Just a quick WCWism to point out in that post: MIA was formed when Bischoff and Russo started working together in April 2000. So of course that poster has the old WCW logo that had stopped being used a year earlier on it. Man, I hated that WCW star logo
  11. Fair criticism but I'm at work. But I mean, also, for some of them there isn't much to say. I wanna see Bret Hart fight Daniel Bryan because it would be a real good ass match ya know? But I feel you. I just thought it would lead to some fun talking points. Such as "Zakk, why do you love Bret Hart so very, very much?" I'll go back and update later maybe.
  12. I want them on Saturdays now and I'm a 30 year old man. NXT Takeovers are just as big in my house as Souled Out was when I was 10 for that very reason.
  13. Bret Hart vs Daniel Bryan Shawn Michaels vs Eddie Guerrero Randy Savage vs 2000s MMA Undertaker Mick Foley vs Roman Reigns (imagine those 'anyone but you' promos delivered by Mankind instead of Bray Wyatt) Hogan vs Cena Okada vs Flair Okada vs Bret Omega vs Bret Omega vs Shawn Tanahashi vs Cena, but that's a gimme Punk vs Austin is another no brainer Austin vs Brock AJ - Bret
  14. Yeah she knows wrestling. There was some incident with her calling CM Punk fuck face or something. It was years ago and I barely cared then, but my point being, shes familiar with the product. Also, man that show is pure garbage. I usually sleep with ESPN on, but had to stop because it would put me back to sleep in the morning. Hopefully I can report back soon with a mention of Becky Lynch on Morning Joe or something.
  15. Yeah it's a really fucked up situation. I still feel so sorry for her. Maybe it was just a coping mechanism. I really don't even want to speculate. I'm just a big fan of hers going back to TNA.
  16. I didn't get to watch the show yet, but I'm bummed out Kong/Kharma wasn't involved. Maybe she'll get another Impact run, who knows.
  17. There's so much good stuff on that PPV that I don't know if i've actually seen that match in its entirety until today, but WOW he worked his ass off for him. Sure, he didn't get the famed "one last run" or the HOF nod, but I'm still glad he got that momentâ„¢ on WWE TV with the Heath Slater vs legends thing a few years back--not that that's everything, but just to at least put the guy on the international stage once more, and hopefully create more little dorks like us who might've gone right to YouTube to look up his shit with Hansen or Cactus or Sting or whatever (I think that was pre-Network?) For the record, the first two WWF action figures I ever owned in the 90s were Vader and Bret, so I always had an affinity for both guys. Another random thought: I for some reason loved when he'd put his singlet on backwards but just say ah fuck it. What a bummer.
  18. It might be Jericho but I think equally culpable is HHH doing his best Flair cosplay during his "reign of terror" in the early 00s. I thought having to defend it is a pretty brilliant idea-- TNA did it with one of their secondary titles as well (I wasn't watching much TNA but I seem to remember seeing a segment with someone-- maybe Austin Aries-- talking to Hogan about cashing in)
  19. True but they could always throw up a collection on the Network. They own 90% of his career. This is why the Network needs an option for putting together a playlist of individual matches. Only thing we'd be missing is the documentary, but how much is there that he didn't cover in his book or on podcasts etc.
  20. I actually thought of KENTA just now myself watching 205 Live but my problem is I wasn't watching much Japan back then, not that I watch a ton now, but more than back then. I did recently watch one of the Daniel Bryan /KENTAmatches from NOAH on YouTube though and I was real into it I like Roman as a worker but he's been so stale along with the other obvious issues-- i can honestly say that would probably be surprisingly good TV if done correctly. It'll never happen but that angle writes itself. Punk in the Austin role and Roman in the Bret role? Come on
  21. I don't necessarily disagree but I've seen way more Roman matches than, for example, pre-main roster Charlotte so that's why I lean that way a bit
  22. No Omega or Asuka? Otherwise that's looking pretty solid. Is it insane to put Roman in the conversation?
