  1. I feel like two things hurt Cesaro, the first being that I think someone decided to go back on the whole "it's okay for heels to get cheered" which seems to have led to the elimination of the swing from Cesaro's offense. Secondly, the WWE is just far too heel heavy at the moment and the faces they do have are simply not over enough to carry feuds. I'm not saying that he couldn't carry an angle if he was given one but without he's the kinda wrestler that is really hurt by the lack of wrestling to be in contention to titles, especially without the swing.
  2. Cleveland getting the #1 pick was actually showing that there isn't anything wrong with the lottery since it shows that a team with a low chance of winning the lottery can still do it. And the changes have nothing to do with the fairness of the lottery. It's simply to make tanking less appealing to teams.
  3. First look at Arrow Season 3 Spoilers if you haven't finished season 2. I know this could be said for almost every show on television today but I want a chronological Arrow when this is all said and done. [i apparently went brain dead when it comes to posting YouTube links.]
  4. Couple new sales: Top Shelf's SDCC Sale which I'm completely not qualified to comment on, the seemingly weekly Grimm Fairy Tales Sale, and an Avengers/A+X Sale. Unless you really want to own the issues in the Avengers/A+X sale, you'd probably be better off spending the 99 cents an issue would cost on the month of Marvel Unlimited.
  5. I was looking at that, and the individual issues are on sale. The problem is the collections are cheaper than buying every single issue with the discount. The worst thing about DC sales is that they tend to never put the collections on sale with the single issues. Still their sales have improved a lot from how they used to be. They used to offer up the most random issues under whatever theme they had for the sale.
  6. Yeah, I got the the first two volumes of Saga back in December for $4.99 each from Amazon. In fact, I'd imagine that the Comixology sale prices for Vol. 2 and Vol. 3 are probably close to the normal prices for them on Amazon. It's really helped me to try things outside of Marvel and DC. Also, Dark Horse is apparently having a SDCC sale also. It's not on Comixology but it's available on Amazon and Google Play Store looks to have price matched it but they don't have a dedicated sale page so you just have to search for the titles. Probably the most notable inclusions I saw were Vol. 1-7 of Sin City. I will say that if given a choice I go with the Google Play Store over Amazon simply because the Android Kindle app doesn't support landscape mode while Google Play Books does.
  7. Season 1 got added on Netflix the same day as season 2's premiere last year, so season 2 will probably be similar. CW always has the last five episodes that aired on tv on Hulu Plus. So since I imagine they're rerunning Arrow this summer a new episode should go up every week.
  8. This is pretty much inspired by the PS+/PSN Store thread over in the video games forum. Figure it be easier/more productive to have posts about sales posted in a single thread instead of mixed in with discussion of news and commentary. The biggest one at the moment seems to be the 750 issue Batman Sale but there's an also smaller Essential Batman Collections Sale which at $2.99 for each collection would be cheaper than buying the issues(if they're available) in the single issue sale. Figure I'll have no excuse not to have read The Long Halloween now. Image is having a SDCC Sale which I don't really find too notable since all of it seems to go on sale pretty frequently. There's a pretty big Viz manga sale which I believe is simply everything is $2 off the normal prices. Not really sure how interested any of the parties here would be of that. And lastly from Comixology there's a Cartoon Network Sale with issues from the IDW releases series. The Image sale seems to run till 11 PM EST tonight and the Batman Sale is to the 29th. Not sure about the rest. Marvel is offering a month of Marvel Unlimited for 99 cents in honor of SDCC with code: SDCC14. And lastly DC is offering a digital copy of Batman: Eternal #1 for free on Amazon with code BATMAN75. Slickdeals link with details.
  9. You can really use Windows 8 just like Windows 7. The only really adjustments is the "start" screen and the power controls. So while I couldn't really come up with a reason for someone to upgrade to Windows 8, I certainly wouldn't say there's a reason to not get it with a new computer. Course I say this after I installed Linux Mint on my computer today because I realized I had no true reason to use Windows anymore.
  10. Such a fun day of news for The Dan Le Batard Show.
  11. Thanks for the head up. I wasn't going check it out since I already owned most of them but was pleasantly surprised by Rai #1 being free.
  12. Having played...um...none of these, I was wondering any recommendations?
  13. Not to mention it's a local kid coming home to play, which will at least be something in the depressing season that is sure to come. Plus the Lakers have seemed to taken over from Golden State as the place to go play if you need to get paid the following season.
  14. Between the Summer Movies pool and telling my dad that I didn't think that a lot would happen this offseason, I'm officially giving up on predicting anything this summer.
  15. So if Bosh signs with Houston, should we all start wishing for a Houston/Cleveland finals? (Just typing that feels wrong.)
  16. Think I'll be tuning into Dan Le Batard's rado show today.
  17. this. that costume is the most un-Babs thing i've ever seen. i only get 3 DC books. i'll give the first issue a try, but i may be down to 2. While I might be going from one book(Green Arrow) to two books. It looks interesting and refreshing which is not something I tend to associate with DC these days. Plus for me Babs being in a Batgirl costume in a comic book is completely un-Babs to me(Killing Joke came out when I was 5 or 6.)
  18. Looking at my list and where things currently stand I could see my box office rating being not that bad. My two biggest hits so far are going be underestimating Godzilla and overestimating HTTYD2 but I figure the latter will move up a little bit before it ends and the former will fall a bit. I am a little concerned about how GotG is going do simply because while I'm excited about the movie, none of the trailers or the commercials have gotten me remotely exciting. I don't want to talk about my RT list.
  19. I think you have to blame bad teams for this because there are so many bad teams that are willing to pay superstar money for good to great players because they're unable to get superstar players to come and play for their teams. Which makes it that much more difficult for the good to great teams to keep players because how are you going tell your player who is better than some overpaid player that you're not going pay him more especially when other teams are going be willing to do so? One thing I have to applaud the Mavericks the last couple seasons is for not freaking out when they had money to spend and feeling the need to sign players for too much money for too long.
  20. Follow-up tweet mentions that Mychal Thompson on radio said, “My source knows what’s going on up there.” WHO COULD HIS SOURCE BE?!?!?! This would make GSW better but I am really, really, really going to miss The Splash Brothers. As much as I love Klay and the Splash Brothers, I think the Warriors would be crazy to not make this trade. Klay is a great player and hasn't reached his ceiling but Love makes them a much better team in the present. Would mean that they need to go find a starting SG though.
  21. The Pacers just want this game to end. Shame that this game won't be followed by a "going fishing" picture.
  22. Probably the best online streaming service to compare the WWE Network to would be Crunchyroll. Both are targeted toward a niche audience, wrestling and anime, and both are mostly offering convenient and legal access to already easily accessible material. Course it wouldn't be nearly as sexy to compare the WWE Network to Crunchyroll as it would be to compare it to Netflix or Hulu. But while the WWE Network and Crunchyroll are operating with two completely different size audiences, I would imagine Crunchyroll probably had an advantage in that their audience is probably more tech savvy than a lot of the WWE audience. I think at this point the biggest thing the WWE could do would devote time to educating their audience about how to get the Network.
  23. So the first episode of Gang Related was pretty just there. Comes across like an edgier Hawaii Five-0 with a touch of Infernal Affairs. Also another of those shows that probably would have been done better on cable than broadcast television. It did end on a strong note that hopefully following episodes can keep up. At only 13 episodes I suppose I can give it a chance.
