  1. I guess this has become a "thing" online, to the point that Insomniac's creative director put out a statement to try to head off a controversy. I'm not a fan of remasters, but, if you're going to do it, this is the way to go: substantial changes done by the studio that made the game. It'll be an easy buy for me when I do get a PS5, though whether I actually ever play it is another matter. I'm thinking I'm going to replay Spider-Man this month and finish the dlc this time, then play Miles Morales in November of December. I'm sure both games will look better on PS5, but I'm also confident the PS4 editions will be good enough to suit me. BTW, Sony has the digital edition of Ghost of Tsushima on sale this week and next. $45 instead of $60. Great value at either price, imo. Amusingly, this week's Sony sale is called "Games of a Generation" but includes very few games that will make anyone's games of the generation list (I like Unravel and Blasphemous but they wouldn't be on my list). The problem is that Sony ran a sale called Essentials at the beginning of Sept. and put a lot of the PS4's best games on sale then: Bloodborne, God of War, Uncharted 4, Spider-Man GotY Edition, Dreams, etc.
  2. Regal impresses me in this gif. I think that’s Regal. He doean’t move a muscle even after Kidman clips the turnbuckle. I’ve seen a number of botched SSP’s where the opponent was willing to sell the move until he realizes the guy messed the move up and is just going to land on him awkwardly instead of doing a body press with rotation. What a pro. now I’m wondering why someone thought it was a good idea to replay that in slo-mo.
  3. I don't really get why players expect this. Or why purchasing the PS4 version of a game should entitle you to a free upgrade to the PS5. PS5 is an entirely new console. Treat it as such. It's great if a publisher wants to give you an upgrade or make saves transferable as a perk (presumably as incentive to buy the game even if you don't intend to buy a PS5 for awhile), but expecting everyone to do it just doesn't make sense to me. It seems especially loopy in the case of Marvel's Spider-Man, where the PS4 game is 2 years old and the PS5 remaster seems to be getting more than the usual "fresh coat of paint" treatment. I kind of want to dismiss this as a "first-world problems" thing, but I feel like that would be an insult to people with first-world problems.
  4. Do game delays ever alleviate crunch? I've read a number of interviews with developers who said that pushing back a game's release date just extended the length of crunch time. Even with the delays, they still ended up working ridiculous hours right up until release day,
  5. Holds up for me. The version on Xbox Live and the PSN (for Xbox 360 and PS3, not current gen consoles) is a remaster. Looks pretty great. They had to remix the soundtrack. One or two songs are missing due to licensing issues, but they compensated by adding songs from the NA and EU Dreamcast releases, plus Jet Set Radio Future. (When the game was released on Dreamcast, each region got a couple songs that weren't available in the other regions.)
  6. What's your opinion on putting both your children in angles where other wrestlers claim to be their real fathers? For that matter, Aalyah is having an on-screen relationship with a guy 13 years older than her. Being leered at a bit by the King seems kinda tame in comparison. I wouldn't mind if the entire family went away for awhile. Nothing about this feud (or Seth's cult leader character) has worked for me.
  7. This is particularly amusing since It’s only been a few days Dijak was trolling Chris Jericho abOut being a super spreader. Melter said last night that none of the five have actually tested positive, but were belong held off the show anyway. Presumably, they’ll be out till mid October.
  8. Mickie said that the ref thought she suffered a concussion in the Asuka match. That apparently wasn't the case. I also saw a news site claim he hear something pop and thought she dislocated her shoulder. Mickie's probably the more reliable source here, but whatever the ref thought he saw or heard, he was wrong. Garza apparently suffered a hip injury but sites are saying the company doesn't think it's serious. But, yeah, they probably rushed to the finish due to the injury. Also, Nia Jax tweeted the word "Lies" - apparently in relation to the WWE claiming she wasn't medically cleared to wrestle last night. I haven't seen the tweet. Just saw the story on Bleacher Report when I was reading about Garza's injury.
  9. At one point, Roman was wearing padding and a belt to protect his hernia, but I'm never been certain if that's still necessary since he had surgery (in 2014). Meltzer and Alvarez have theorized that Vince didn't like his physique when he was called up - the Samoan man boobs thing - and insisted he wear a top. That could be true. Gynecomastia is more common among Samoans and Vince used to have some fairly unrealistic ideas about wrestlers should look like (though that seems like less than an issue now than it was a decade or so ago). The Rock allegedly had "breast reduction surgery" in '99 and wore a shirt while wrestling, but I tend to think that had more to do with wanting to break into acting than anything Vince said to him. Metlzer's brought it up at least a few time over the years, but I don't remember if he knows something or is just throwing out a guess. All the Shield members wore tops and vests while doing the gimmick. I'm guessing Roman just liked the look or they thought its what fans identified him with.
  10. Sami's obviously been told that he's in line for a strong push as the leader of Vince's hobo army.
  11. Flip seems like an idiot but is it really that hard to just ignore him instead of getting outraged and running to Twitter every time he says something? He's entitled to his opinion, even if it's wrong. I only know what Flip says on Twitter if someone brings it up on here. Why? Because I don't follow Trip on Twitter. Some of his opinions seem wrongheaded, at best, bit I hate to judge people I've never met. So...
  12. It doesn't really bother me, but it is why I have a PS3 sitting on the shelf next to the PS4 (I just switch the HDMI cable back and forth). Honestly, I probably play PS3/Xbox 360/Wii games at least as much as current gen.
  13. Earlier in the summer, the showrunner said they would resolve the ongoing storyline, then take Ralph off the canvas for a bit and maybe bring him back with a different actor in the role. It was implied that Ralph would be in disguise (to explain the recast). It sounded like Sue might stick around even while Ralph was out of the picture. I still don't get the Sawyer tweets. The tweets I saw were so bizarre, it's hard to take it seriously. I kind felt like the dude is either very weird or disturbed, tweets while high/drunk, or is about 3000% percent less funny than he thinks he is. It was the sort of stuff racists/misogynists tweet in a dumb comedy film, not the way a misogynist would tweet in real life. Not that that excuses him, in the least. The best case scenario is that Hartley is a very strange guy with no filter. That's not a good look either.
  14. Thought the wrap-up to Williamson's Flash run was really good, though the number of paradoxes created by the resolution made my heard hurt.
  15. Watched the Rey Mysterio-Jushin Liger match from Starrcade '95 last night. I'm seen Liger work heel before (CTU!), but it's still jarring to see beloved jr. babyface JTL taunting the crowd and being kind of a dick (he didn't cheat, just played to the crowd a bit). Rey looked kinda tiny even compared to Liger. Ultimo Dragon apparently sitting in the cheap seats wearing his mask with street clothes amused me greatly. I guess Onoo didn't want to pay extra for ringside.
  16. Has anyone played the Panzer Dragoon remake? It's been out on Switch and PC since March. Drops on PS4 and Xbox One Monday, so I'm considering giving it a look. It's also been on Stadia for a couple months, I think, but i'm fairly confident no one has played it on Stadia.
  17. Yeah, Clover Studio was one of Capcom's internal divisions. Basically, it was Shinji Mikami (RE creator), Hideki Kamiya (Devil May Cry, Bayonetta) and a number of other people. After working together for a bit, the studio was disbanded and many of the employees left Capcom and formed PlatinumGames. God Hand didn't sell well, but it didn't help that it was released at the tail end of the ps2's life cycle (game was released in Japan two months before PS3 launched. Several regions didn't get God Hand until a few months after PS3). It seems like it's more popular now than it was then, so I think there'd be an audience. It's the sort of thing that would probably do well now with updated graphics - a 3D beat-em-up with cool bosses, and a wacky sense of humor. Maybe Capcom disagrees. I wonder if the content is a problem. There's a lot of obnoxious humor and some risque stuff. I'm guessing you can't (in game) bend barely clothed women over your knee and spank them enthusiastically in 2020.
  18. Considering how many games have been remade or remastered over the past ten or 12 years, it's really surprising that Sony hasn't dusted off God Hand and released it for a next gen system. It's one of the few games I feel like really deserves a remaster (or a PS5 remake by Bluepoint). Gameplay is solid, but the graphics are average for an end-of-life PS2 title and the performance issues tend to annoy me. Was playing it last night and the transparent walls (walls and stair rails tend to become invisible when you wander too close to them) were wearing on my last nerve. I'm also surprised Viewtiful Joe hasn't been ported somewhere. Wonder if there's a rights issue with the Clover Studio games? Seems unlikely, since Okami has been ported to so many consoles, but they seem like obvious candidates otherwise.
  19. Just needs Wham's "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" playing over the PA system.
  20. Supposedly, at least one retailer (maybe two) leaked listings for Metal Gear Solid remasters and a remake. Also listed a couple other listings related to other Konami ips like Castlevania. New rumor going around is that a listing for Bloobborne Remastered has leaked. I dunno. I'll buy this stuff and it will probably be decent, but I generally play games on whatever console(s) they came out on originally. I'm not going to buy a PS5 for remasters or slightly better versions of multi-generational PS4 releases. There were an quite a few games remastered for PS4 that only slightly improved games that didn't need remastered in the first place. I'm sure I'll eventually become a big PS5 fan, but, at the moment, I'm more interested in what Microsoft is doing.
  21. if anyone is interested in the FP World (digital) Deluxe edition, it's on sale on PSN for $26.99. Regular price is $89.99. Base game and some of the dlc are also on sale. https://store.playstation.com/en-us/grid/search-game/1?gameContentType=bundles&query=fire pro wrestling Sale is going to last for two weeks. Great deal, if you're even mildly interested in FPW.
  22. So Tony was the other person who thought the Kiss/Kiss Demon/WCW deal was a good idea?
  23. Cotton is getting a reboot: There’s also a rumor going around that Metal Gear Solis (PS1 original) is going to be remade for PS5 & PC & that several other early Metal Gear Solid titles will get remastered. Honestly, I’m much more stoked for Cotton.
