  1. Holy crap! Watching some '94 Superstars and Jim Powers only took a year off steroids, as he's back in a ridiculous shape and size in '94 as compared to his '93 shape. I knew he got huge by '95, but this was a surprise! Was it @twiztor who liked Jim Powers? He was looking fantastic here, but already wearing a singlet, just as he did in WCW!
  2. Any news on Buddy Matthews? Wasn't he supposed to sign with Impact?
  3. OMG! Fucker had no chance! You better retire! Right in the F'n nuts! He's the crawling weapon now!
  4. Can you imagine how much cooler this would be, if he was actually called Rex Steiner or Bronson Steiner?! Either way, this is definitely a guy!
  5. This is sad, but of course family comes first.
  6. Wow, these RAW and SD threads are quite epics these days!
  7. It could very well be, unless he still works this Tuesday. But what's next for him?
  8. Hey, @The Natural are you feeling better, physically, btw? Recovering from the tumble alright? Hope so!
  9. No F'n kidding there! It just got really hard for him to be a heel later on. Was able to pull THAT off in 2006 and I suppose in TNA, as well?
  10. I remember Foley book telling Embry thought he was more of a face than he actually was, but figured he was one of those who could pull it off!
  11. Just watched Creed for the first time. It was good. I had seen Creed II before and enjoyed that as well. So, the dude he beat in the beginning of the sequel was the guy who beat his ass for the Mustang. I think I've seen things totally out of order before, like Star Wars (Jedi, new hope, Empire), Mad Max (Road Warrior, Mad Max, Thunderdome, Fury road) and stuff.
  12. That's obviously what he was going for, being a teacher and all! But yeah, word for our times, indeed!
  13. To be honest, though, BOTH of those can be considered knives, so I'll call it a draw!
  14. "Organization that died, RIP, seven years ago!" If I remember the promo correctly? The promo was in '94, so '87-'88 as far as he was concerned.
  15. Officially, good luck @Technico Support and good on you @Contentious C for saving a life. Also, grip strength can be a bastard and it should definitely taken good care of! This week was a bit messy, but I was able to try 303 on the bench and while I did get it up, it was not clean so, I'll be trying again. I did a clean 286 and a bunch of 3's with 275 on top of other lighter weights. Finishing up with doing 50 reps with 132 in as few sets as possible (with like 10 second rest pauses), so it ended up being 27, 8, 5, 5, 5. As a little life-hack, I was able to wrap a couple of ankle weights onto the low handles of the trapbar, so I could add 4lbs to each set, so the previous 451 was now 455 and 473 was 477. I did a 6 with 477 which is a technical record in this particular gym (for me), but as I was the first to even try it, I guess overall, as well. Other stuff included a leg day with the squat machine and the 66, 44 and 22 lbs dips and reverse shrugs, so pretty much standard stuff, otherwise. Sleeping and recovery were not good, however, so the records were a surprise.
  16. Maxx Payne did, in fact, not win the tag titles, as it was Cactus and Kevin Sullivan, who beat Nasties in '94, so your first post was correct!
  17. As far as talking about wrestling to people goes, there are people with whom I talk about it and those that I won't. It's funny that there were some people at work with at least a passing interest in wrestling and I had no idea. In general conversation, I may drop lines like "get drunk and watch WWE Network on my couch", just to probe people out, so to speak.
  18. If I were Xia Brookside and the offer was "Well, you can fight Meiko Satomura next week, or not at all", I'd probably be all like " Can I have 'not at all' for a 100, please, Sid. Thanks!"
  19. Having it define a style instead of a weight limit, like the X-division title on Impact/TNA, is not the worst idea, at all.
  20. That would have been par for the course, but luckily, I only did that internally. There was a bunch of comical flexing going on, when I tried the small clothes on, however. Along with plenty of "See, I...can...still...wear...this...* phew* "
  21. Cleaning out my closet last weekend and had to throw out about 30% of my stuff because they wouldn't fit anymore. Not from the waist, but around the chest, or thighs. This included some of the stuff I wore at our wedding. I was bummed out because a lot of the clothes were otherwise OK, if not the kind of stuff good enough to donate to goodwill (over here, anyway). My wife, trying to cheer me up, pondered the following: "When someone won't fit into their wedding clothes because they gained 45 lbs, how often do you think it's because of gaining muscle?" I was OK after that.
  22. Whoo-boy, Anthony Sincere screwing Pete Dunne out of the victory, letting Carmelo "Michael P.O.S" Hayes retain! Johnny ate the pin and likely will at WarGames as well. Maybe whoever pins him also beats him in a loser leaves NXT the following Tuesday? Well, I guess it could be Bron and that would lead to the obvious rematch against Ciampa. LA Knight switched sides with basically no notice. But if this is indeed New School vs Old Guard, instead of face vs heel, then it doesn't really matter. Gacy vs Strong is a weird heel vs heel stuff, unless Diamond Mine is so cool that they are about to turn face or at least tweener? Cora Jade has beaten a bunch of big names already with an upset roll-up! The 1-2-3 Chick of NXT 2.0?
