5 years ago (it can't be that long can it?) my favorite thing was watching WCW Saturday Night and Prime Time Wrestling episodes from the Network. Every time there was a classic drop, I only hoped for those two. Well, Superstars was actually nice, too. And the Colliseum Home Video collection.

Hell of a night for Izzy Dame. Fighting two of the most likeable (grown ass) women on the roster in one night and going 1-1 while looking like a killer in both matches and walking away with the title. I actually thought it would be Grace who was gonna take the open challenge and squash Thea but instead, she decided to move on up to the main roster. It was good to see Paxley getting her revenge, but with this development, I don't think it's over between the two. I still maintain that Paxley and Thea should become friends. Tough break for Kendal, but she was looking fantastic out there until the loss. Jacy, to her credit, had a great showing as well. Slater did well against Femi but I don't really see the point of putting the title back on Oba if he was called up in less than a month afterwards? I mean aside from turning Saints heel, it accomplished nothing.

OR, hear me out, MAYBE for an extra incentive for PAC to show up for the match with Darby, maybe TK could like, I don't know, maybe create a title for them to fight over? I mean he literally already did that for PAC once before, so maybe that's the trick?

Unless you are talking about the movie "Judgment Night" which also has a very legendary soundtrack? In that case the "front" of the soundtrack takes still takes a bit more work. I actually saw that movie several years after being aware of the soundtrack, but I didn't even link the two before the end credits started rolling! This would be due to the fact that the movie was on TV and the title was translated into Finnish. Then I was like, "Wait, what? This was Judgment Night? THE Judgment Night?! Cool."

Let's see, Shelton had a good gamplan going in, and once it got under 30 seconds, I was like Mox needs to pull something off quick, and he did. The trios match was super exciting, I did figure it was going to be Bucks subbing for Jet Speed. That Jake Doyle sure is Something! Andrade is back, back again! I hope this time it's for real. Bandido vs Sammy was an excellent match, but once the Dirty Sanchez Sammy drew on his face before the match started dripping all over his face, I was so grossed out I could barely concentrate. Hey, Shit Fingers, stop doing that! It's disgusting! After the match, MJF comes out and I just knew he was going to try and claim that ring for himself, again. And one way or another, he probably will. Not tonight, though! The Willow celebration had some techical difficulties and Mercedes ruined the cake with her face. I mean Stat almost saved it, but the pull of the pro wrestling trope was just too strong. Toni vs Safir was definitely a clash of styles, but they worked around it pretty nicely. I though Toni would headbutt Safir on the rebound if she tried the dance moves for the third time, but that never happened. DQ ending was cheap, but this could lead to a more violent affair, so ok. Main event was brutal. Hobbs no selling ten staples to the torso, but going down when he got one in the nut was awesome. Ending was brutal but I was worried for Hangman's knees on that Deadeye on the cinder blocks. Well, Maximum Carnage looks pretty stacked!

Back to work and gym last night. Moderate upper body stuff, leaving the heaviest stuff at least 10% lighter than usual with only 8 reps max not trying to push further. Still, trying to give biceps, triceps, forearms, delts, lats and chest some stimulus after a rather long rest. The idea of a leg workout this evening doesn't exactly thrill me, but it would definitely be the logical choice. Ended up doing actual squats (3×152, 3x242, 3x262, 3x286 and 3x308), barbell overhead presses (1×152, 5x132), one short set of front squats (3x152), standing double bicep curls with a pair 31 lb dumbells, a set of shrugs with a pair of 55's and 70,5's. Some light side delt work and resistance band stuff plus 3 sets of reverse shrugs with 110 extra weight. Well, my legs (including hamstrings) certainly feel like they have done something, when biking back home this morning.

There's a Finnish independent wrestling show some 90 minutes away from where I live (less than 60 minutes away from rest of my family) a week from this Friday. My sister was getting tickets for me and my nephew and now it turns out my younger brother would like to see it as well. Now that would be epic. I need to get my schedule changed, in order to make it, but this is something that has never happened before. Neither my nephew nor my brother are anything anyone could even call "casual" fans, but we l have watched matches and played Playstation games with both of them prior to this. This isn't Fight Club Finland show, by the way. It's the rival group by Michael Majalahti. I don't think FCF ventures THIS far away from Helsinki for their shows, like ever?

As much I ended up hating the guy, Vince's commentary sometime in early '96 contains the thing that I still consider a gem. When Lawler said something about Goldust's wig, like "You know a thing or two about wigs, right Vince?" And Vince went "There's a difference between a wig and a toup... nevermind!" I still think that was funny, legitimately.

Considering how much heat Gunther is getting from the crowd, shouldn't they be chanting "CEO" during his entrance at the top of their lungs just to fuck with him? Maybe everyone do the Mercedes dance also? That ought to get under his skin. New tag champions in a nice match and bit of a surprise of no interference by other teams. It's going to take a hell of a team to beat Rhea and Iyo! Maxxine is kinda a mix between the current Sol Ruca and Kendal Grey, but I guess that is fine, since all of them have time to readjust their gimmicks if they even happen to be in the main roster at the same time. AJ vs Gunther should be amazing! Well, that sucks for Stephanie! But Raquel doesn't know what hoops WWE will make her jump through to get another shot, even if the title would be vacated after the attack? The main event was totally awesome and I think people would have been ok with Bron winning here, but also were happy with Punk retaining. I will be looking forward to Bron eventually becoming the champion, remains to be seen when that happens, though? Looking forward to Season 2 of Unreal. Looks really promising!

For the first time in good while we went to see a play on New Year's Eve. This time we went to the Swedish language theater of our town, so some nuances may have been lost in (lack of) translation but we managed to keep up with the plot through out. The name of the play was 02:22 Ghost Story and it was a Swedish adaptation (or an adaptation in Swedish, anyway) of a pretty recent British play. I was relatively entertained throughout and the twist in the end came as a surprise.

The Cena GOAT discussion is also very interesting. I love Cena, but even kayfabe GOAT is still stretching it. Within WWE, I think they can make a case for it, sure. Money-wise, Cena kept the company up through some bad times and his run was longer than only very few others. Without the WCW run, Hogan's was a decade (give or take), Cena's was twelve years (from 2004 to 2016), but the amount of PPV's and merch during that run was multiple times what Hogan had during his run, while still having a hectic road schedule. Austin and Rock made shit loads more money for WWF/E per year during their runs, but as it has been noted, those runs paled in comparison in length. So, while I don't have the metrics, nor am I interested in digging them up, I'd argue that the true GOAT is the guy who made the most money for their employer, who ever it was. But that's still the metric that should matter to the companies. To the fans, it's the guy who made you feel the most.

Super interesting discussion about gatekeeping, strawberry ice cream and hamburgers. As far as my philosophy on liking stuff is concerned, I'd very much just preferred if everyone just liked everything, but within a very wide spectrum (the lowest end of the spectrum being something akin to "I JUST barely tolerate this for a short time because it seems for some reason to be important to you"). So I am very open to people liking stuff and very harshly against them not liking stuff. I mean hate stuff all you like in your own privacy but don't come to me with that shit. Tell me what you DO like instead. I try to work with that. And if I feel strongly about something and you just openly dismiss it, we probably won't get along too well. The good thing is there's fandom for pretty much everything but if you never step out of your comfort zone and try something new and different you might miss out on something awesome. To hell with learning new things if you don't want to, but there's a chance you could have everything you already like plus more! Think about it that way! As far as ice-cream goes, I'm pretty sure whatever the best flavor would be, it's going to be a combination of two or more awesome flavors put together and they make each better for some reason . Also, there's a Finnish cartoon about a police station and one of the cops is a millennial with very strong opinions. One of the things said in the show about him that has stuck with me (among thousand other quips) was something like "You don't know what you want, but are very much sure of what you DON’T want". Also he once said "I know there is a dilemma of defining what is objectively good, but you can always tell when something is shit!" While I find those things funny and true to an extent, I can see how so many people in that cartoon had trouble getting along with the guy.

Plenty of strong matches on Dynamite, it's lucky that Jungle Man got himself a little bit over again, now that it seems like his Dinosaur walked in the way of another meteorite. Toa Leona keeps getting slimmer and slimmer. So, do we now get Death Riders vs Don Callis Family feud? Yay, for Willow, I actually didn't think it would happen!
