  1. Mark Henry on Busted Open and his in ring with Tony really did make me think he doesn't understand AEW. His comments about how he's "not here to fix AEW" was a glaring red flag that he truly only knows one way of pro-wrestling.
  2. I really have zero interest with Braun in AEW... but then again Im rather old school in thinking that the giants should move around a lot and not stick to a certain promotion. I'm totally ok with Mojo in AEW... But I think he'd be better off in IMPACT and working around a bit if he wants to really take pro wrestling seriously. Even after all the years he spent with the WWE he ended up being a more agile version of Mongo but without the personality. In fact..m I think Mojo could make some money in Japan as a bulldozer type guy once he gets a bit more understanding of what he should be doing.
  3. I think Balding Buck has been watching old Jimmy Garvin tapes because he was totally ape-ing the honorary Freebird in his entrance.
  4. Of course he did Bucks stuff better than the Bucks.
  5. ManU continues to be run by idiots by lowballing Dortmund yet again for Sancho with a £67m offer.... After Dortmund lowered their demand to £75m.
  6. Matt Cardona in the GCW Universe is f'n money. ?
  7. Granted it's been a few years since I've seen anything WWE related... But has AOP even been around the last couple of years? The last thing I remember from them was their call-up and then quick dismissal of Ellering... And then I think they were on Main Event.
  8. Kamille vs Serena Deeb was very much a young Lex Luger match. I honestly didn't expect Kamille to pull out the victory (I bought the PPV on a whim and don't subscribe to the NWA). They started the match very well with a slow build with some wearing down spots. Deeb focused heavily on taking the legs out of Kamille with dragon screws. I did think the final third of the match relied too heavily on spots / impact moves... I would have liked to have seen better pacing at the finish, but that's just wrestling these days to go 100 mph at the end. The Lucha Rules 4-Way Tag was honestly too many people to keep up with. It also did me no favors that the only one I recognized was Bestia 666... The luchadors carried the match and deservedly won... The Thor looking dude from the Road Warrior knockoffs is out there huffing paint and thinking it makes him look menacing... I really didn't know what to make of that other than it was pretty damn minor league. Tyrus vs Pope was hard to get through.. and it was because of Tyrus. It actually irritates me seeing how he doesn't care about his health to be out there in his condition. Pope I hadn't seen since pre-covid and he had that really intriguing angle going with Eddie Kingston... So I wasn't sure what to make of his Babyface work... And he was a manager the last time I saw him so him being in the ring also takes some adjustment. Taryn Terrell is money. I thought she was brilliant character wise. Thunder Rosa, Melina, and Kylie Rae worked their asses off and it was the second best match of the night behind the NWA Women's Championship. Kylie playing heel is really cute. The Three Way Dance for the NWA Tag Team Championship also suffered I felt from just too many players. I'm realizing that for me- the small studio setting is too small for any more than 4 people in the ring. Really good work by all involved though... But this match does expose how there's a lot of the same type of wrestlers in the NWA. Trevor Murdoch vs Nick Aldis for the NWA World Championship was a solid match. Good backstory with the two being trained by Harley. Quite a solid and interesting match leading up to the finish- which was straight out of Dusty Rhodes playbook of "I don't need a finish baby!". The visibly upset Murdoch post match interview had him swearing... Which I thought was jarring considering I see NWA as a family friendly program in how it's presented. For a PPV I'd expect a better ending... The show just kind of ended with a thud.
  9. Well that would explain all of his decisions since this match... The tattoo and every creative idea he's had over the last year.
  10. I think it's safe to say most everyone they have released and or will release will go on to become a bigger star.
  11. We are too invested in this sport in 2021 to be playing counter against Honduras.
  12. AEW still has a long way to go to be as compelling as the WWF in the spring and summer of 1997... Bret and Austin were never any better than that year.
  13. I don't think the budget matters to Bryan. He's probably just tired of the WWE structure.
  14. The thing is- unless the character is Doink or wearing a mask (and isn't the size of Andre) then you can't just keep bringing back these IP's. They tried that with Diesel and Razor... And that went over like a fart in church.
  15. I completely missed the Buddy Murphy =/= Omega.... Buddy is so clearly a ginger PAC. I freaking love Buddy Murphy and will gladly follow him wherever he ends up. I think his career is going to take off now.
  16. Tommy Dreamer on Busted Open today upon hearing of the cuts was very heartfelt in knowing what these wrestlers are going through (especially since they had just finished an interview with Mickie James). He stated if anyone wants a job to give him a call, and highlighted that Tommy End can go anywhere... and he really put over Lana's work in the last year.
  17. I've actually gotten to the point with Cody Rhodes to tune out whenever I see him on TV. I didn't even bother to look up in the Ogogo match and I think I spent most of it in the toilet.
  18. I do wonder if AEW would ever run house shows. There are some benefits to at least weekend house shows I'd feel.
  19. I just dream of a scenario where AEW, NJPW, IMPACT, NWA, MLW, ROH, and AAA all have some kind of relationship.
  20. Considering he's been babied his entire career... Yes this is absolutely his first real day in the business.
