  3. That is unless you try to fight people. Then it's a-okay.
  4. Regarding the first what if, if someone is offering you that much money, what it is basically implying is that is how much your career is worth cause you're about to be persona non grata in a lot of places. On that alone, Harley couldn't take Vince up on the offer. That and it would have been a big blow to his reputation. If he would have left, all JCP would have did is replace him with the next best option to lose to Flair. The Flair train was leaving the station whether Race was there or not. I highly doubt it would have been the end of the world like it was hinted at in this episode. He would have also probably been buried on TV for being scared of Flair. Either way, that option would have been a hard one to live down.
  5. I think part of it though is when Foley started doing it, he wasn't making much money, wasn't a notable name, and in the eyes of many of the key decision makers at the time, wasn't tracking to ever become one. Race's whole credo in this episode is money and it being about the money. Foley wasn't making money doing that stuff. Damn near every episode of Foley is Pod, Foley retells that story of traveling with Robert Fuller earlier in his career, learning from Fuller, and how he was always saving that one crazy bump on the advice of Robert. Unfortunately, as he would enter WCW, that would kinda multiply because he was so desperate for that attention. There were some guys like Cornette and Sullivan (and later, Dusty) who saw money in the novelty, but I think everyone else saw him as a maniac. And by the time Harley and Cactus would have really interacted, it would have been Mick's second WCW run where he was legit trying to kill himself. So I don't think it's that far out that even Harley would question his actions.
  6. I don't want to formulate my own narrative as much as I want to control it.
  7. I don't know if you want to play the looking for a way out card, Chris.
  8. Those were cool and all, but did those include someone threatening to exhume some bodies? I don't think so.
  9. The logical next step for the whole Timeless saga is Jamie Hayter coming back as Bette Davis, and we have a What Ever Happened to Baby Jane angle.
  10. I knew it coming up soon in my rewatch for 1995, but I didn't know it was going to be this week. I present the greatest segment in SMW history (IIRC Cornette said he was the cameraman for this):
  11. I won't believe that until he has biased commentary against the Mexican and Boricua wrestlers.
  12. Excalibur speaking Spanish at 100 miles an hour would be an experience.
  13. Man, Jimmy's son is still out here doing his thing. He's going to be doing this longer than his dad. He's also starting look just like his dad now. I am surprised Jr. never did anything AFAIK with wrestling.
  14. I told you she was in a blood feud with Marlene Dietrich!

  17. He wasn't the Ringmaster long but the days of the old IWC, they just made it seem like he was stuck in the gimmick. The Ringmaster thing was just suppose to be a takeoff of something like the Excellence of Execution except it didn't stick. Less of a gimmick and more of a nickname.
  18. Knowing Little Richard, I think his reaction would be the opposite of that. More like, "Why do they got this motherfucker dressed up like a thrift store version of me?" Doesn't also help it's an Italian dude from Buffalo cosplaying as a black dude.
  19. I believe someone also shouted: "Get over it, bro!" Not as bad, but when a guy mentions all of that and I believe also that his parents passed away in close proximity as mentioned in this episode, it's rough stuff. What made it surreal is the fans didn't know how to process this cause he was again off tv for several months and always presented as a certain goofball character (and now in 1993, a character from the past). When Bryan and Vinny were doing the Raw episodes from 1993-1994, as they mentioned, he's doing this all as Brutus Beefcake. Not as Ed Leslie. The guy who has had tights with part of the ass cheeks cut out is talking about his real life issues as this character in 1993 cartoon WWF. It doesn't help that I believe Vince gave the introduction that this big time legend was coming back to the WWF and then out walks BRUTUS "THE BARBER" BEEFCAKE. Lets you know how tough the next few years would be if that's a legend. And then he's out there trying to integrate it into a storyline where he's issuing an open contract challenge and the fans couldn't care less. It's wild.
