colonial 293
Growing up, "Hee Haw" and Barbara Mandrell's variety show were required viewing in my home on Saturday nights, as my dad was a big country music fan. "Hee Haw" had a lot of bad comedy and cornball humor -- even as a child I found that style of comedy tiresome -- but the music was great and Clark was an incredible musician, either on his own or with the show's Million Dollar Band. (And he was actually a decent comedic actor on "Hee Haw". Would have been interesting to see him take on more challenging work if he wanted to give acting a try). Heard this Xmas tune once on SiriusXM. Finally found it after hearing of his passing, as this is probably my favorite take on the song ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YyS2bwfF0aw
