  1. Somewhere this summer I turned into a character from a late 70s Country n' Western song...
  2. At least one of you looks happy to be there...
  3. Well, that was the setup to WrestleMania II...
  4. Who would've thunk that SMURFS 2 would have all these great "family is what you make of it" moments in it? Watched it this morning with my girls (Cheapo "Family Fav" every Saturday at 11am at the Orchard Park Five), and it brought me to tears twice.
  5. Super Moon at a bar, you say? This should be fun. NOT. Although I did make a little skater dude's voice crack like a prepubescent brat's when I grabbed him by his backpack and threw him face-first into the door, causing him to fall off the skateboard I'd already warned him twice not to fucking ride inside the bar. SERIOUSLY: who rides a skateboard inside a bar and thinks there won't be repercussions? I'd do the same to Tony F'N Hawk.
  6. EVERYONE'S money is on Haku. Nash would tear his quads just getting up off of Haku's lap. If the alternative was fighting Haku, I'd rip my own quads by hand.
  7. I've been working two jobs since May. Worked 26 days in a row at one point. Now I work six days a week and at least two of them are doubles: gaming attendant (mostly bingo calling) at one of the casinos in town, and at night I'm a doorman at a popular little pub. I'm exhausted, the amount of hours I'm working right now. Finally took a mini-vacation: three days camping (last two with the girls, first one just me and the girlfriend), and while it was relaxing...I am BURNT. TO. A. CRISP. I wore sunblock every day but holy shit did it do nothing. I'm in agony: still radiating heat and lobster-red a day later, and I have to work the door tonight. First clown that touches me is getting knocked out.
  8. Too many posts without pictures! Why does the Canadian have to help get you guys back on track?
  9. I'm sure I could pull it off. But wrestling is SERIOUS BUSINESS. Where is the RESPECT with such a...oh, I can't keep that shit up.
  10. The one plus about being a local indy wrestling champion is making a kid's day after surgery... ...it's been brought up on Twiiter that I need to do an Akeem/Sweet Brown Sugar gimmick. I'm not sure where all the George Gray references come from (a few summers ago my mohawk drew OMG references, too), but I'll take it. FWIW, I've just been too busy to cut my hair...
  11. I've found that since my last big concussion last August, certain musical scores (that get reused over and over again in movies), will automatically trigger tears even if I don't really give a shit about the movie I've been watching. Not that I don't cry at movies, because I totally do. Especially when animated movies do the "grumpy/standoffish dad finally opens up to underdog/misunderstood son" gimmick: Horton Hears A Who, How To Train Your Dragon, etc. I also bawled several times during the Hannah Montana Movie, but I'm not embarrassed about that so it doesn't really fit the initial criteria...
  12. Watched THE NUT JOB with my oldest this afternoon. I got a kick of the fact that she pegged Will Arnett immediately (although only as "Batman from LEGO," but still). Amusing little flick.
  13. My girlfriend wanted to see Jersey Boys so we went last night. We were both the youngest people in the theatre by at least 20 years, if not 30. The movie itself was really well done.
  14. I'll give Ethan Hawke credit: as the "super dad" type that is a rich, "everything is awesome" type of annoying dick? Great job.
  15. My girlfriend saw the trailer for the new PURGE movie, so I suggested we watch the first. Holy shit, it was so. Damn. Bad. Poorly slapped together and whatever social commentary it was attempting to make was just...ugh. Every twist and turn was so damn obvious. At least now I can save money and not have to go to the new Purge.
  16. Saturdays at the Orchard Park 5 here in Kelowna they have a cheap Saturday matinee of an "older" movie for families. I've taken the girls two of the past three weeks, despite working until 4am and getting maybe 4 hours sleep before having to turn around and get them ready. We've seen The Lorax and Tintin and the girls love it. I need a major nap after to get ready for Saturday night at work...but it's worth it. I was never into the Tintin books/strips as a kid, but the movie was a lot of fun. Really exciting and humorous.
  17. Where is the BRAZZERS redux on that pic?
  18. A wrestler just accused me of being a Wyatt on The Facebook. I replied that "I've had that shirt since before that kid was even Husky!" I did try to get the girls to wear sheep masks for a Christmas photo, but the littlest balked. Will try again this year. Maybe Mall Santa will take the bait...
  19. Posting this here as well as the "Photos" page. Spoilered for size: The 9th Annual Father-Daughter Dance was held at Parkinson Rec a few Sundays ago; it's the third year my girls and I have been. I didn't know about it before then; and in fact I think my ex signed me up without my knowing three years ago, because she was insistent I didn't spend enough time with the girls. She was probably right, but since our separation I can't get enough time with them. Funny how that works. Regardless, each year this is one of the best afternoons of my life. So much fun: games, face-painting (I have a sweet Warrior tribute I will post later), and dancing. It poured so the outside playground portion got canceled, so the girls and I danced for about two hours straight...I was in agony the next day, but it was totally worth it. I did learn that there are far too many country songs about Dads who love their girls that will make you bawl in public...or maybe that's just me. Could be. I worked all morning and had to work all night after the dance, so I was running on fumes come Monday...but this could not be missed. Not sure if there's anything like this in your area, but if there is...DO THIS.
  20. This year's Father-Daughter Dance. Third year in a row we've been. One of the greatest afternoons of my life.
  21. Why should they push half those guys? Mahal stinks. When did he ever have potential to draw money? Riley was decent on NXT and that's about it. Tatsu and Woods wouldn't draw jack. I could see Del Rio, maybe Kofi, and Sandow. Swagger did get a push and The Miz sorta did too, even though he looked very weak. They dropped the ball with Ryder as a good mid-card character. Forget Otunga too. Mahal and Del Rio would've been a great "rich foreigner" gimmick, in a revisit of a Sheik/Volkoff combo. Ryder being a whiny bitch is what ultimately killed his push.
  22. Haha, no: I logged on and the DVDVR was plagued with pop-ups and online surveys. Downloaded the VLC player and didn't realize "BrowseBurst" tagged along for the ride. All good now.
  23. I know who I wouldn't mess with: Yoshi Tatsu. There's a story somewhere that he got mad at Sheamus for being a sloppy roommate down in Florida and when Sheamus tried to bully Tatsu, he got whupped by Yoshi.
