  1. I've been on WeightWatchers (you will never just be WW to me) for about 6 weeks now and have dropped 30 or so pounds getting me back down to my pre-COVID weight. On top of the dieting, been getting out taking 30 minute walks every afternoon which are getting longer and longer as I get in better shape. Things got real bad health-wise during COVID. Got to be the heaviest I've ever been at 345 (I'm 6'3") and just went weeks with almost no activity other than walking around our 500 square food apartment and going out to get the mail. It feels good to finally be burning that weight off and getting back into decent enough shape where normal every day things aren't completely exhausting anymore. I'd still like to ideally lose another 80 pounds to get back down to a healthy weight as I creep closer and closer to 40 and I know my body isn't going to hold out if I keep treating it like I have been,
  2. Had a super rough week this week. Woke up Monday morning, turned off the alarm, turned back to bed and my 13 year old cat Willow was laying there having a seizure. It ended up lasting for a couple minutes until she finally stopped shaking and after what felt like forever of her just laying there motionless (and what was in reality probably a few seconds) finally shook it off and came back to. We laid with her for a while with her and once she seemed to be mostly all there loaded her into the car to go to the vet. She seemed to be doing ok, maybe a little shaky moving around but she was walking around the car while we drove generally seeming pretty happy. They took her in right away for a quick exam and said everything looked normal, tempt and vitals were normal etc. so sent us back to the car to wait to get blood and urine work done and flush her system with fluids. Got that done and they sent her home with us & saying we would know results after 5pm the next day which sent me into total Papa Bear crazy mode of following her around the house any time she moved making sure she wasn't going to have another one & waking up multiple times in the night to find her to make sure everything seemed okay. Again she seems mostly fine aside from some neuro ticks here and there but she has always had them. Got the results back the next night and turns out she has stage 2 renal failure (which they say for a cat her age isn't exactly abnormal) so now we have to put her on a special prescription diet to slow the progress of that. But unfortunately, that tells us nothing about the seizure and to find out more we would need to take her to an animal neurologist to get worked up and see if they find anything. The vet recommended just waiting to see if she was going to have another seizure and if she does then move forward with that, which I agree with but we've been so on edge all week long about the whole thing and kind of feel like an asshole to take a "wait and see" approach with a member of the family. Today she finally seems to be acting normal again but still it's nerve racking not knowing if there's something going on in her head that we don't know about that could cause more to happen or if it was (hopefully) just a one time fluke thing.
  3. I downloaded Minecraft onto my laptop yesterday and started playing it for the first time. I'm pretty sure I'm never going to get any actual work done at work for a long time ...

    2021 NFL OFFSEASON

Between this and Pujols to the Dodgers, it's been a wonderful weekend of knowing my friends are going feel my pain so hard this season.
  5. Definitely wouldn't mind if whoever answers this does so in the thread. I've basically done the same thing, just splurged on most of the DLC and unsubscribed from pretty much everything since most of it hadn't been updated in years.
  6. This is already happening today at the museum I work at - security has had to deal with a couple people refusing to wear masks because of what the CDC said and having to explain to them that we are waiting for actual new museum guidelines to be released before making any major changes.
  7. Where does he think he's going to go to get more playing time? I could see a token contract with the Cardinals if they were terrible, but they're going to be in a battle in the Central all year long. Anywhere else he's just a ticket-selling sideshow in a year where stadiums aren't being sold to 100% capacity anyway.
  8. edit: damnit beat to it by like 30 seconds. I mean ... I have absolutely hated watching him lumber around for the last decade, but I've kind of loved hating it.
  9. Been playing The Longing and it's a really interesting concept. You play a shade who is instructed to wake a sleeping king in 400 days and everything you do from then on it to make time speed up to make the 400 days pass faster. You're basically veeeeeery slowly exploring a cave system and everything it has inside of it. Right now I am about 21 days in and each realtime second is up to 9 seconds in the game. I couldn't see actively just sitting here playing this, but it's great for passing the day at work and checking in with every once in awhile.
  10. Modern day Babe Ruth & Mike Trout on one team ... Still .500. Fucking Angels.
  11. I find beating the unwanted resident with a net usually works eventually - and if not is at least therapeutic.
  12. Having to use the randomizer ingredient in 3 different ways killed than finale. Instead of being able to make one awesome finale dish each, they were each forced to just make a bunch of appetizers that really weren't that interesting.
  13. Got my 2nd shot on Monday and it kicked my ass the rest of the week. Tuesday was full on fever all day long, chills, muscles aches, nausea, headaches, etc. Wednesday the fever broke but still had everything else and by today I'm mostly feeling mostly back to normal. Am already booking tickets for every damn theme park they decide to reopen around here for 2 weeks from now.
  14. 50 spots added to the designer ... THANK YOU! I never know how people manage to do the crazy customized islands I see out there, we added a couple custom pathways and have been running up against the designer slot maximum ever since.
  15. I don't need something that makes it easier to be disappointed that Redd never shows up. You can apparently have more than 2, but then your destination becomes random when you go through any pipe.
  16. Ok I was skeptical about the Mario stuff, but the warp pipe is amazing. I put one in front my on Nooks and carry one with me all the time, plop it down whenever my inventory is full, sell, warp back and carry on exactly where I left off. Saves so much time & frustration.
  17. Note to self: next time at Phil's town, create a shirt out of my custom Panthers logo and give it to all of his villagers.
  18. I dunno - I have a boat parade going on in my 3rd level river now and it's pretty awesome.
  19. Woke up on a Friday morning looking forward to a nice three day weekend, and now I'm sitting here asking 'What have I done with my life?'. THANKS
  20. Bought a Ring Fit today at Target cause it's the first time I've seen it out in the wild. I had no clue that it's a full on fitness RPG that actually looks like a lot of fun. ... of course we'll see if I think the same thing tomorrow after it's made me do 100 squats to defeat a boss.
  21. Yea I have a friend who is getting only orange stuff, mine is all blue. Maybe it's one of those events like the Thanksgiving one where if you've gotten all the items by the time the event is over, you can get all the recipes to craft different colors?
  22. Be sure to check the Nook app every day - the valentines stuff has at least 3 color variants and the megaphone has, I believe, 4.
  23. Damnit - this is gonna make me have to hook up my Xbox again and play something other than 500 hours of Animal Crossing.
  24. If there's not a slime bath for the winning coach of the Nickelodeon game, what's even the point?
