June Jones has resigned at SMU. The first coaching move of the season seems to come earlier and earlier every year. Not a great surprise to see Jones out at SMU though. Obviously, he flushed most of his goodwill after his flirtation with Arizona State two seasons back, and the team slowly cratered over the last season and 1/6th. He was done there, and he knew it. Now the countdown to his return to Hawaii is on.

This tourney is so weird. HELLBOY is going to the Other semifinals, while the vastly superior sequel is likely going to get edged by the first Turtles movie.

People called me crazy for suggesting this was a possibility, but I saw the potential for a B1G apocalypse coming.

If Ohio State loses this, the B1G is all but eliminated from the playoff. The champ would have to go through conference play undefeated or the sort of anarchy leads to a 2-loss team getting in would have to break out.

I think they're eerily similar movies, which is what makes it such an interesting matchup to me. Their strengths and their flaws are almost identical.

Recap for the new kid on the block? The crowd that discusses comic movies here tends to skew more toward hardline Marvel fundamentalism. Specifically, the 1st Cap movie is often exalted as a paragon of the genre. (Granted, this perception might be the result of the same two people repeating it over and over again. )

Given the proclivities of this board, I'm shocked FIRST CLASS isn't getting squashed.

I was really ready to have an argument about TDKR, but of course it got paired with one of the few movies in this bracket that you can't really argue against.

I think IRON MAN is a good movie that gets more credit than it deserves because it succeeded in being a good movie when no one was expecting it to (especially give the conditions it was made under).

I don't think Lynch particularly cared about the quality of performance he was getting from the supporting cast. In a way, crappy performances just added to the weirdo soap opera atmosphere of the town, which is what he was interested in.

I imagine there are a lot of people who aren't even fully aware that they have iCloud activated or what exactly it does. iCloud registration pops up at part of the standard iPhone setup process these days. I bet a lot of people just click through it without giving it a second thought, just thinking its something you need to have for the phone to work.
