  1. Carlos Rodon (last season's 3rd overall pick in the draft) is being called up by the White Sox after a brief minor league career of 34 innings. He likes to throw sliders.

    30 For 30

And he delivers one hell of a dropkick.
  3. Cliff Lee will attempt to pitch this season with a torn flexor tendon, as he knows that surgery to repair requires a 6-8 month recovery. Either way, his career is coming to a close very soon.
  4. Officially "90", but yeah... a very nice guy and he should have been in the Hall of Fame.
  5. Chris Sale has a broken foot, and will be out for three weeks.
  6. No no... Running spear while holding the stairs; that'll do. It'll also likely cripple Reigns, but omelettes:eggs and all that.
  7. Apparently B.J. stood for "Bossman Jr.", his father's nickname. Seriously.
  8. Here it is. WWE put it up on Youtube themselves:
  9. I love how Monsoon got a crowd pop just for taking off his eyeglasses. When he starts chopping Vader, the crowd goes even more crazy. During that brief Bobby Heenan MSG house show face turn angle vs. Mr. Fuji in 1991, can you imagine the reaction if Monsoon had saved Heenan?
  10. You could say that Riley's famous guardrail celebration with no one was the beta test for Mizdow's imaginary bump taking.
  11. I really can't understand why GMs do things like this. Aren't most teams' AAA rosters filled with infielders that can play average defense from multiple spots, hit .230, and can do so for the league minimum salary? And if not, shouldn't they be?
  12. Now that Scherzer (24 career WAR) will cost a team 105 million dollars for seven years of use, and then another 105 million dollars for seven years of post-retirement, is Cole Hamels (40.4 career WAR, one year older than Scherzer, four years remaining on deal) worth two top-shelf prospects? Or would teams still rather have James Shields (26.7 career WAR, two years older than Hamels, wants a five-year deal)?

  14. There's an early Prime Time where, as the end credits roll, Reynolds just gets up and stands around with his dress shirt untucked, looking like a complete idiot for 20 seconds.
  15. It's Monsoon and Okerlund (who's absent at the beginning but arrives mid-match). They, too, come alive by match's end. Monsoon exclaiming "Listen to this crowd! They love this match!", Okerlund doing all of his non-word verbal reactions to flying moves and the finisher, etc. Edit: Here it is; found a clipped version hiding on Best of the WWF Volume 1 (match begins at 47:28):
  16. Final terms of the trade are: White Sox get: Samardzija and minor league pitcher Michael Ynoa Athletics get: pitcher Chris Bassitt, catcher Josh Phegley, first baseman Rangel Ravelo and infielder Marcus Semien.
  17. The White Sox have apparently signed David Robertson and traded for Jeff Samardzija.
  18. Brandon Moss traded to Cleveland in exchange for minor-leaguer Joe Wendle.
  19. Me as well; oh for the days of buying ringside seats for pocket money.
  20. The MLB/MLBPA joint drug prevention/treatment program released its mandatory annual findings (from last offseason until the end of the 2014 season). 7,929 tests taken (of which 1,535 were blood tests for hgh; the rest were urine tests). 12 positives (2 for roids, 10 for stimulants). There are currently 112 ADD therapeutic-use exemptions for adderall.
  21. Nelson Cruz heading to the Mariners; four years, $58 million.
  22. I'm a lifelong Phillies fan, and at this point I want them to fail spectacularly at their offseason attempts at signing/trading.
