  1. I would assume lack of cash generated/losing a lot for dying is part of the incentive for people to buy the money packages. I only got as far as creating my guy. It was also kind of annoying that Sony put up a PS3 update.
  2. You do get cash, but it doesn't tend to be much. I've only gotten like 10-20 bucks. San Andreas had the drug dealers you could get a thousand or two off off, but I haven't come across anything like that yet, or the OTB that I would abuse to get millions early on so I never had to worry about cash. If you need money, you could always drive a taxi to make a bit. Has anyone tried the emergency vehicles? Can you still do the side missions in those?
  3. I haven't noticed it either, though to be honest I don't use Netflix on my PS3 much since I got an internet enabled TV. Maybe try deleting/reinstalling the app?
  4. Sorry, double post. Damn this phone and my fat sausage like fingers.
  5. When you look at the pause menu friends list there is a tag next to people's name if they are in a crew with the crew abbreviation (DVDR for us). I assume there should be something similar in game.
  6. The word going around is that GTAO is pretty much fubared at the moment. On the NeoGAF thread I read, some people are saying their single player files have been fucked with (losing money/weapons) after they go back to it after playing (or attempting to play) online. Seems to be more for 360 users, but I would definitely make backup saves in any case before you hop online.
  7. I'd like to cunt/dick punch the person who thought those sorts of haircuts on women were a good idea. I prefer my women to not look like little boys. The Abrevia commercial always gets a chuckle, because the hipster girl remarks on how no one notices her scar, but then I point out that it gives them more time to look at her godawful haircut that makes her look like she got into a fight with a Flowbee.
  8. I thought the deal with the vacuum cleaner guy was that once Saul put in the call to him, all of your public records were erased. That was why he always made sure people wanted to go through with it. And Hank never let the DEA know he had Jesse in custody. So essentially Jesse is under the radar now.
  9. Of course, GTAV has been domingating my gaming time, but I needed something new for my phone since I finished Gangstar Vegas (which was pretty decent outside of the somewhat janky controls) so I picked up FIFA 14, which is free on the Google store. Well, "free" is a relative term, because to get some of the modes, you have to pay $5, and to improve your team in the Ultimate Team mode it looks like there is a lot of stuff to spend real money on. But the basic gameplay is alright. The touch controls are a little weird at first, but I am able to consistently win games, though I have just been competing against scrub teams. Graphics and sound are good too.
  10. No. There are only four gang signs/taunts/greetings: bro chest bump, double middle finger, jerking off, or up yours. You can also set up custom names for each grouping of 10 levels, so I chose wrasslin names/terms (ie, level 1-10 is Curtain Jerker, 11-20 is Jobber, etc.) I can change the color of the crew but the Social Club site is barely working at the moment. What color would people like? Or what would be easiest to see, especially to seperate us from other crews? If someone wants to make a different emblem, that is fine. I just used the one Gonzalez made so it was something different from the default fist.
  11. Jesus, I don't think I'll ever 100% this. I finally just got Trevor unlocked. Awesome intro BTW, though I am a little sad that he killed one of my favorite characters from IV. Though considering the circumstances he was in, Trevor probably did him a favor.
  12. The Social Club finally allowed me to upload a photo
  13. If it makes you feel any better, this will most likely be the last game I am getting for a long while. I just got the bill for my engagement/wedding rings... oof. Anyway, as a LOL, I got an email from Gamestop saying I could get a whole whopping $30 for trading it in now. Umm, no.
  14. Fun little moment from playing last night. I start up as Michael, who is exiting a motel saying "I can't do it". I notice a question mark on the map, so I go to it. It's Tonya, Franklin's crackhead neighbor (aunt?). She is trying to entice Michael to pay for her "services", so I say what the hell and start honking the horn. Some random dude is walking by and starts yelling at me for honking at him and goes to pull me out, so I gun the car and run him over. Apparently, the dude was in a gang because a minute later (after Tonya has run off while calling me a crazy cracker) his buddies come up and drive by on me. After getting out of the hospital, Michael says "I gotta quit drinking". Even the random little encounters or roaming almost turn into full story moments. This really has raised the bar for open world games.
  15. Yeah, the swing isn't a full on analog one like Tiger Woods. That threw me off a bit, too. The golf is pretty bare bones, but still pretty incredible for being just a side activity. I like the tennis a lot too. The little details on this game are pretty amazing. I rode a bike for a while with Michael and it's cool how his shirt gets sweaty. Also he was wearing flip-flops and they actually came off his feet as he walked.
  16. I'm not sure on the website, but you can check the leaderboards (hit R1) before/after you play a game.
  17. I've been intrigued by some of the names listed in the synopsis, but have avoided it because of my hatred of Jaime Kennedy. Guess I'll avoid. It starts out as a somewhat interesting look at heckling, but it soon turns into a Jamie Kennedy cry-fest of "why does everyone hate me?" Maybe because you're not funny. Case closed.
  18. I played a round of golf on PS3 a while ago so it should be uploaded. It was a shitty game by me though sine I triple bogeyed a hole.
  19. The current Domino's one that is trying to pimp out their online service. Like most of their recent ads, it is acknowledging that their product has been bad for years and they are trying to correct it. But this time, it doesn't really fly, since the same half-retards who aren't answering the phone now, because apparently they can't understand simple English, are still the ones that are expected to operate a computer well enough to take accurate orders, as well as actually make those orders. TL; DR - Domino's still fucking blows.
  20. The GTA games - and open world games as a whole - usually have a long tutorial period. GTAV is at least better in this respect than many games. Things do start picking up once Michael comes up as a playable character. As much as I liked Sleeping Dogs, the story is derivative of a thousand similar Hong Kong gangster movies. It's not original in the least.
  21. Just as a reminder, you don't have to directly play with any DVDVR people to join the crew. Your stats will still feed in and you will get bonuses. It will just be a way so we can always find people to play/make a team with (if you notice on your in-game friends list, you can see their crew symbol next to their name) because I feel like any open games are gonna be a collection of slaptards. I have a headset but probably won't be using it much, because I usually play in my bedroom while my fiancee is sleeping, so I gotta keep the volume down. Also, I didn't change the emblem. The editor is still down. That is just the default one for the type of crew (I think it was chaotic) I set up.
  22. If you need to save right away, there is an option on the phone.
  23. I think can change the name if there is a consensus of one people want to use. Also, there's no logo up for the crew because that part is down right now. The Social Club site as a whole is going real slow.
  24. I haven't done it, but there's a "like" meter that goes up when you get lap dances, so I'm sure virtual nookie is the eventual payoff. I made a DVDVR crew. You can join it by going here: http://socialclub.rockstargames.com/crew/death_valley_driver I always do some cab missions. It's a good way to earn a little extra cash, as well as learn the layout of the city. It's also a good way to listen to the radio (especially the talk stations) uninterrupted while still feeling like you are acocmplishing something in the game. There are also usually bonuses for completing a certain amount of fares - wonder what they are this time out.
  25. Conan's video game "review" videos are pretty good. If there was still a TechTV around, it would make a good series. Re: the Social Club - I think the crews are cross-platform? I've been a member since GTAIV but I've never really done anything with the site. I tried uploading some photos to there through the in-game camera but the connection timed out. I haven't gotten to the stock trading portion yet, but if you have, you can use this site to see real time updates on the prices. Crazy how much detail is in this game. http://socialclub.rockstargames.com/games/gtav/bawsaq
