  1. Del Rio going into Payback and kicking the living daylights out of the cocky twat who took the world title when ADR was at his weakest was the face move of the year in my eyes.
  2. Really starting to like Scott Dawson, everything he does looks precise and crisp. He's probably lacking the cutting edge to be a singles act, but can see him being part of a great tag team on the main roster. Quite liked the look of Rawley, though think it was notable that Burch controlled the bulk of the match. From the sound of things, he's not been wrestling long so he probably needs help structuring things, but his energy and athleticism means he looks pretty carryable for now.
  3. Watched it for the first time last night, and it's pretty good, almost entirely due to Del Rio. He takes some nasty bumps during the match and sells really well, his offence on RVD looks good (including a solid looking boot to the face) and he keeps it entertaining despite RVD pretty much going through the motions. Plus there is a great part where Del Rio has the match won, Ricardo interferes only for Del Rio to rightly beat the shit out of him.
  4. Always nervous when the Sky Blues are on TV, and we nearly blew it at the end, but what a great performance from the team. Have to agree with Uwe Rosler, Clarke and Wilson are the best strikeforce in L1.
  5. I always felt like the Teachers Pets team belonged more in midcard 1992 WCW than midcard 2006 WWE.
  6. Take away Stevie and make Val wear black trousers, and the RTC look tough as fuck
  7. Also gives insight as to whether or not Rowan will account to much. The Rhodes' will be the best guys he's worked with so far and his best chance to look good.
  8. Tensai has a magnificent broadcasting voice.
  9. Natalya gets a free pass from a lot of people due to her Hart heritage and that she gets routinely pushed as a "real wrestler" type (remember Pinup Strong?). However, she is prone to some terrible mistakes (the match on Raw where she let go of the Sharpshooter before AJ tapped) and looks just as awkward in places as the rest of them.
  10. Del Rio was awesome in that match, loved how he managed to make every kick to Dolph's head more vicious than the last. The whole match was so well executed.I'd also mention Del Rio/Christian from Summerslam, which I thought was match of the night until the main event. More vicious bodypart work from ADR, great selling and comebacks from Christian...just wonderful stuff
  11. The "Shooting with Jimmy Saville" image in that Feinstein picture is tremendous
  12. Graves was absolutely massive in 1PW as well. Considering how much money they spunked on big names, it was SJK (Graves) who became the biggest star they had. They had to turn him face when even events hitting his finisher on a disabled man got a massive pop.
  13. About a month ago I mentioned my wish to see a Wade Barrett/Danny Burch hooligan tag team. I still harbour that desire.
  14. I get that Kofi has a PPV match Sunday, and that they're trying to get TiP over as a quick "death move", but it's sad to see Big E being fed to him so swiftly. I really like Axel in ring, but him vs Truth sounds like a snoozer
  15. I reckon the addition of El Torito is to counteract allegations of cruelty. As in, how can they be cruel to bulls if they hang out with one? Regardless, this is going to get so over. Aside from Primo and Epico being good wrestlers, they've got an easy chant (Ole!) and a highflying midget bull. It's going to be huge.
  16. Kanyon made one TNA PPV as "Chris K" as part of an angle where Raven was having to wrestle names from his past. I always felt the boat was missed on a big face run after his surgery where he nearly died. He'd had plenty of screen time as Alliance MVP and I thought he'd have got a better return than as a singing telegram for Taker to destroy.
  17. That's a really cool thing to do. I'm glad there is a PTP shirt there, I remember on NXT Titus wore special trunks in honour of Cancer Awareness Month, so its clearly a cause close to him. PWS just tweeted that Cody Rhodes will make his debut for them when his "no-compete" expires, which Cody acknowledged, so looks like he's being allowed to work a date to sell the angle.
  18. Ricardo and Van Dam have zero chemistry together. The Del Rio face run may have flopped, but the pairing of ADR and Ricardo was really likable. Now he just looks like an oily creep in a t-shirt and serves no purpose.
  19. I remember an IWA show with Brad Bradley, Eddie Edwards and Danny Daniels all on in "shit name" overkill.
  20. They wanted him as a trainer. He didn't want to relocate to Florida. They hired Nick Dinsmore instead.I'm sure I read that they offered him a new deal a few years back too, but he rejected it as he had a secure fulltime job he didn't want to give up.
  21. The Dusty segment was amazing, and crucially I've gone from total apathy towards Cody to really looking forward to his reappearance. As a teen, Owen Hart became my favourite wrestler during that period where he would attack HBK from the crowd post-Montreal,and that's the vibe they'll hopefully go for with Cody.
  22. Just saw on Twitter that Shawn Spears has been resigned and will be joining NXT
  23. Just finished watching this and, yeah, not great. Kim/Flash was decent and Mickie/Serena was actively good, but some of this was very poor. Jillian/Velvet and ODB/ Trinity were as bad as I expected. However, I do get why they signed Tapa, even if she's pretty poor and botched a few moves, namely that she's got an impressive look. She's only developmental talent, not main roster, and if she can improve over the next year, she'll provide something a bit different. Bear in mind this was filmed in January, there's a chance she'll have improved by now.
  24. I reviewed this match for my blog a year or so back when I reviewed a Zenk comp... The Funks start off playing face, showing mutual respect to Zenk and Martel, but early signs of frustration show when the younger team manage to keep up with them on the early exchanges. The first sign of the Funks' heeling comes when Dory repeatedly throws Zenk outside the ring (with some big bumps taken by Zenk) to be thrown back in by Terry, only for Terry to give Zenk an atomic drop (almost hitting a cameraman) before throwing him back in, to the rage of Martel. Martel begins to brawl with Terry outside, while Dory works over Zenk on the inside, hitting a nice piledriver for two. Martel comes in on a hot tag, following a reversal of Dory's spinning toe hold, and Terry does everything in his power to draw the ire of the crowd and make Martel look good: he runs away from Martel all around the ring, cowers in the ropes and offers a handshake in an attempt to placate Martel. Martel, as a good face, accepts the handshake, but the audience knows that Terry can't be trusted. So when Terry tries to double-cross on a clean break, and Martel avoids contact, the crowd erupts and a two count off a crossbody gets a huge pop. Zenk is brought back in with his own crossbody for two, but Terry rolls him up for three. Good tag affair with plenty of heat, the fired-up babyfaces meshing well with the sneaky heels.
