It boggles the mind that people went into a Ricochet and Johnny Gargano match and expected anything but goofy facial expressions, flippy shit, "no selling" and all of the other stuff ya'll are complaining about. That's exactly what those two guys do best, why would tonight be the night they change it up and do a technical masterpiece that would make Bockwinkle blush or whatever you guys are hoping for. Hell, half (maybe all) of the stuff you guys are complaining about is exactly what NXT and WWE have been about for the past few years. If you're expecting 2004 Ring of Honor out of a developmental brand that grooms people to eventually work on the main WWE roster, you're going to be soooo fucking disappointed. And probably deserve to be.

Not like they can’t find someone else to fill his role, but damn, WWE taking 1/3 of their booking team has to be a blow to them in the short term. EDIT: nevermind, just read that Konnan and (I guess?) Tommy Dreamer are joining the creative team.

I've watched three deathmatches (Onita versus Chono/Choshu, Muta versus Nita) and Singh versus Candido... I need more fucking weird/oddball matches that are on here. Steiners & Muto versus Chono & The Outsiders sucked, but it was in the wheelhouse of what I'm looking for right now. Nothing that's going to get a bazillion stars, but just some fun matches that are weird when you think about it. Because when I think of "weird" and New Japan (or maybe just oozing swagger), Onita smoking a cigarette on his way to a deathmatch with Masahiro Chono is definitely it.

It's not that controversial, from what I've seen. Besides AJ not really getting the point of that Gilette commerical. There was a pretty offensive t-shirt being advertised right before his segment, but obviously he doesn't have control of that. But, then again, AJ Styles "thinks flat earthers make some good points", so... not the brightest guy.

While we're on the subject of cage matches in New Japan, the one between Masahiro Chono and Yoshihiro Takayama at Osaka Dream Night 2003 was either the first or second full Japanese wrestling event I ever saw (the other being Wrestling World 2004). I forget if that card (or even the match itself) is any good, but this conversation jogged my memory about that VHS tape I have buried away somewhere. Sadly it seems Osaka Dream Night isn't on NJPW World, so I'm stuck looking up stuff on YouTube/Rutube/Dailymotion etc. Since it's 2019 and I don't own a VCR anymore.

Becky Lynch won the SmackDown Women's Title in September, and lost it in December. How the fuck is that days later? Do you even know how to use Cagematch? Jesus christ. On that same page, where she lost the title to Alexa Bliss, she had two rematches, and another match for the vacant title in 2017 against Bliss (can't remember why it was vacant, though). There's way more than that if you count the house shows, too. Then she was constantly working matches, be it singles, tags or multi-women tags, where the champion was involved. Then Naomi got the belt, Becky moved on to other things, and the Ellsworth stuff happened like you said. It seems like you want to forget all of that up until the point where she isn't involved in the title scene. On a 2 hour show, in a division unto itself, she was the other woman that had a program besides the champion (or maybe Charlotte). She's never been "nobody" on the main roster. Well, MAYBE I'll grant you her time on RAW after she debuted, since the focus seemed to always be on Sasha or Charlotte. But, yeah.

I almost bought one of those old (2001ish?) Keiji Muto figures on eBay. It would have been bundled with a Faces of Muto shirt, but he wanted way too much extra since the figure wasn’t included in the sale. Why would you put a picture of the figure with the shirt if only one of them was for sale? Plus I’m pretty sure Highspots sells it. Or they used to, at least.

Breeze’s ceiling should have been what Dolph Ziggler’s is - a perfectly acceptable midcarder that you can plug into bigger stories every few years. A token run with the belt if he has staying power, as a thank you. But a serious main eventer? No way. His ceiling was always the secondary belts, and maybe a run or two with the main belt(s) via MITB or something, like Ziggler. Both of them share a lot of similarities, in my mind. It’s just that this board has an unnatural hate boner for Ziggler, and other guys that are actually pretty good.
