  1. Taker has reached the level of Giant Baba circa 1997. Guys are just pinballing around for his terrible offense. His gut looked huge! As far as the Taker elimination went, I didn't see it as Reigns heel turn based on Corey's comment about Reigns being the new dog in the yard. Their match will be a battle for RESPECT.
  2. My comfort food is searching out big pops and crowd reactions. Hogan rescuing Eugene at Wrestlemania, Hogan vs The Rock at the Skydome, Hogan vs Goldberg at the Georgia Dome, Mankind vs The Rock on 01-09-99 (Stone Cold interference), but my favorite is the cruiserweight battle royal at Slamboree 1998. "That's not Ciclope!" An underrated match with insane crowd reactions from beginning to end was The Radicalz, Triple H, and X-PAC vs The Rock, Cactus Jack, Rikishi, and Too Cool from the Raw on 02-07-2000.
  3. Is there a consensus best Royal Rumble? How about the most fun Rumble when factoring in surprise entrants, cool saves, and eliminations?
  4. I thought Corino was done and on his way to the Performance Center after finishing his final commitments, which were WK and New Year Dash.
  5. I could be mistaken, but I thought that the PDF version of the Gary Hart book was a draft and not the final version.
  6. The finish of the Bucks v Ospreay/Scrull match was insane. For those who didn't see it, the Bucks had Scurll in the tombstone position preparing for the Meltzer Driver. As Nick (or Matt, not sure) springboarded to the top rope, Ospreay springboarded to the perpendicular top rope and executed a rana on Nick. The momentum from the rana made Nick do a somersault and somehow The Bucks were able to complete the Meltzer Driver. My description doesn't do it justice. There has to be an animated GIF out there somewhere.
  7. Go easy on Slick. That lady he was messing with was seven feet tall.
  8. ...and now he and Brother Nero are headed to ROH to take on the Bucks of Youth. Nobody seems to know if the ability to work for ROH is part of the Hardy's contract or if ROH and TNA are working together.
  9. Tell that to the tool who does the show recap on the Torch page. He said this was the worst show in the series history. Didn't like that the crowd was cheering Pentagon inflicting punishment on women. Didn't like the lack of rules in the third match. Made the comment "No wonder LU is Vince Russo's favorite show."
  10. There is a detailed first-hand account in Kanyon's book. (Recommended read, btw) I don't remember all of the details, but Orndorff actually whooped Vader twice on the same day. Vader actually came back for seconds after getting pounded the first time.
  11. It's hard to think of a bad match that Tito has had while in his prime. He was always putting on solid matches. Tito is my all-time favorite wrestler, so I may be a little biased. The real crime is that Rick Martel still isn't in the WWE Hall of Fame.
  12. I can't help but think of the old Career Builder commercial after hearing the news of Anthem's involvement and the company's restructuring. Imagine the celebration going on in the merchandise warehouse right about now.
  13. I didn't recognize the guy in the white top hat during the Rabbit Tribe vignette. Who was he?
  14. With a few exceptions, wrestling rings haven't changed a whole lot over the past 30-35 years. I'm amazed that nobody has come up with a safer/softer ring, but also doesn't have the bounce or give like a trampoline or crash pad.
  15. "It's art. You are way too uneducated and uncultured to get it." -Every Coen Brothers superfan when someone criticizes one of their crappy movies.
  16. Why do I have no memories of Christopher Daniels in ECW? Was this before or after his short WCW run?
  17. If the rumored Royal Rumble main event does happen, I imagine there will be a competition between the two to see who can take the better back body drop. My money is on AJ.
  18. If you are not doing anything six days from now, Lucia Underground just announced a three-city tour starting this Sunday in Phoenix. The dates and locations are: Oct. 23rd – Phoenix, AR Oct. 30th – Houston, TX Nov. 5th – San Diego, CA One additional problem. They haven't released the bell time or venue. Might be problematic unless you plan on driving around Phoenix asking folks if they have seen a skeleton ninja or a time traveling space luchador. Cricket Wireless is the sponsor.
  19. Oh holy crap, that bedroom scene with Gerald and Sheila...
  20. Why Jack Swagger hasn't added this to his moveset is beyond me.
  21. I was surprised to see Ken Dykstra back in a WWE ring with all of the heat he has had with John Cena. He still looks to be in good shape. On the other hand, Mike Mondo looks terrible. He must have put on 75 pounds since I last saw him in Ring of Honor. He is as wide as he is tall now.
  22. I need a rundown of the people in @RIPPA's post. I've got Buddy Landell, The Grappler, The Assassins, Cornette, Jimmy Hart, and Ken Patera. I feel I should know the others, but I'm drawing a blank.
  23. That Cruiserweight 4-way took me back to my college days to when I would watch Nitro in my dorm. This doesn't feel like the old WWF Light Heavyweight division or even the Cruiserweight division after WCW was purchased. The company appears to be fully behind the division, for now. The cruisers will eventually get fully over with the crowd, especially with the kids. This makes much more sense than trotting out Jinder Mahal and other retreads.
