  1. This ain't even close to true. And the movie is very good.
  2. That's a fair point. They mock guys for not being "tough enough" when it turns out that the only reason THEY were tough enough is that they were taking 1000 painkillers a month.

What they were saying last night on ESPN is that the Rangers have so many holes to fill that they may not bother filling this one (by picking up Morales, for example). I do wonder if the Tigers had a hint of something regarding Fielder before trading him. Or did he actually DO something to get hurt? Either way, I was ecstatic when the Tigers made the trade and this (very bad for Prince, obviously) news only reinforces that.

For a full season, there's a few guys that got killed by their offenses. Jim Abbott seemed to deal with that a lot, particularly in 1992 when he went 7-15 with a 2.77 ERA. Nolan Ryan is probably the most famous example of recent vintage - he had a great season in 1987, leading the league in ERA, K, K/9, ERA+, H/9, and generally being dominant. He finished with an 8-16 record, by far the worst-ever for an ERA champion.
  5. Yeah, that's a lot more serious. You could try snaking it yourself but likely better to just have a pro do it. It could also be that the pipes themselves have picked up deposits that have narrowed their openings. But, yeah, if you're sponging out water most of the time, you need to get that fixed.
  6. Drains backing up and faucets dripping are easy fixes. Try some drano on the backed-up drains and you can google how to fix a dripping faucet.
  7. The mic slipping out of your hand cuz you're drunk doesn't count.

Heck, he's the only guy with an ERA under 2.00 and winless after 10 starts. Next closest is like 2.25 or something.
  9. Nice to hear good things about the two Herzog documentaries. I've got both in my Netflix queue and have been thinking of watching them.

You gotta kinda admire a team that somehow has managed to go 1-9 in 10 starts by a guy with a 1.46 ERA.

And the Tigers bullpen rears its head again. They somehow managed to have a lead despite Mad Max being terrible (7 ER in 7 innings) but Joe Nathan blew another save in the 9th and then Phil Coke (who has been beyond wretched this year) and Al Alburquerque (bases loaded balk!) managed to blow another lead in the 10th. So the Tigers managed to get themselves swept by Cleveland - a team that got crushed over the weekend by Oakland.
  12. Hurry up and finish - Target has 3x trade-in value right now on used games. Trading in the PS4 Infamous game will net you $46 in store credit.
  13. Another Netflix documentary: Dear Mr. Watterson - Here's a fabulous idea for a movie. Take a book - a not particularly well-received book - written by somebody else and then copy that book, only in movie form. Be nice about it, though, so you can get the author of the book to participate in your movie. And that's what we have here as Joel Allen Schroeder copies the book Looking for Calvin & Hobbes by going to Bill Watterson's hometown and interviewing lots of people about him and his comics. While there's some useful information here (though not much), in the end we don't learn much. Watterson, as always, didn't participate, so we don't get anything from him. So we're left with a bunch of cartoonists talking about how awesome C&H was, mixed in with a visit to the library at Ohio State where almost all of Watterson's original artwork is stored. Whoop dee doo. 3/10.
  14. Man, this looks like crap. Am I right or just old? Or both?

    30 For 30

This was actually pretty good. Nice to see Shawn is doing so well.
  16. Transistor is apparently just 6 hours long. If it's competition for Watch Dogs, it won't be for very long.
  17. Haven't played GTAV, but AC4 was better than (a still good) Tomb Raider and a LOOOOOOT better than The Last of Us. Commence the bickering!
  18. I find myself asking the same question of myself. What would it take for me to stop watching? I don't know the answer to that. I try to comfort myself with the knowledge that they are likely doing things better now than they did 20 years ago. So should I quit watching because of stuff that went on in the 80s if (*IF*) it's not still being done today?
  19. And a potentially nuclear-esque lawsuit has been filed against the NFL by 8 players, including Richard Dent and Jim McMahon, alleging that they were doped like racehorses. This one could get really, really ugly, folks. Among the claims? One from Jim McMahon that he broke his neck and was never told so by the NFL or team doctors. AND that he broke his ankle and was told it was a sprain.
  20. Review for Wolfenstein (7.8) at IGN: Review And one for Transistor Which they really liked (9.0) Cool feature in Transistor - you have a talking sword as part of the game and the game gives you the option to have the sword's voice come out of the speaker in your PS4 controller. Nice!
  21. Lots of fun news today. First we've got a PS4 gameplay trailer of Diablo III: Then, there's roughly eleventy billion news stories on the upcoming UFC game including the first actual gameplay: And, hey, Far Cry 4 is coming this year too.
  22. Because they'd be willing to admit "Yeah, we sat around and did nothing as her husband beat her up and threatened to kill her between takes"? Definitely I find the idea she was somewhat coerced into it easier to believe than she went along happily with it then did a huge turnaround one day simply so she could be buddies with Gloria Steinem. Especially since her husband was a well-known nutcase, even by porn standards. Well, she flip-flopped on the Gloria Steinems too ("they just want my money!") Point is, with that many people around, there'd be at least a couple that say something like "I didn't think anything of it at the time but..." and then give an example of something that could easily be dismissed. I have no problem with believing she flip-flopped - she had a book to sell.
  23. I loves me some AC4 but AC2 is the best game I've ever played.
  24. Everybody involved in the making of the movie contradicts her versions of the events. And she lied about making her bestiality movies even after their r existence had been proven. Not exactly the most credible source.

He's like the living version of the old Ty Cobb quote/joke: "Ty, do you think you'd hit if you were playing today?" "Well, I think I'd hit about .270" ".270? Really? Why so low?" "Well, I am 70 years old!"
