  1. Over a century ago, judging by the brief history of professionalism in college sports in the full judgement.
  2. I think so. I've been trying to google it but no luck working out exactly who. Looking through movesets on GameFAQs but I don't think it's a complete list of fighters. It was definitely available for the Create-a-Fighter mode because, well, guess.
  3. Someone included a Hurricanrana in the old Pride FC game for the PS2 so I, for one, am prepared to accept them in my MMA matches.
  4. I don't understand why they can't get lights that illuminate the pitch to a sufficient level in the twenty first century. I understand why they don't do it at Galle in Sri Lanka but no part of Southampton is a World Heritage Anything. Meanwhile, the Women's Test went to a four day draw. Let them play five, you cowards. I would seriously consider Heather Knight and Tammy Beaumont for the Other England upper order over some of those clowns.
  5. If this leads to the Bowly McBowlface Bowl, I am all for it.
  6. Please tell me you mean this shark.
  7. Having seen Gareth Bale stutter step then sky it from the spot I am not about to criticise someone for scoring their penalties.
  8. I prefer to think of it as taking the opportunity to not do that.
  9. Glad that something good came out of that shower.
  10. Oh yeah, I forgot that he pulled out before his Kachi-Koshi, that's going to be pretty big. I don't even know if Abi is a lock to get back into Juryo after back to back 7-0 records wailing on the kids in Makushita. Having a look at the final scores from May: Ms1 Kotokuzan on 5-2 and Ms2 Kaisho on 6-1 might have priorty on a Juryo slot ahead of Abi because they have good records and a higher ranking; there are also 3 others who were ranked higher at the start of the tournament who got 4-3, including Yago who was West Ms1. The problem comes from there only being three guys from the lower half of Juryo with Make Koshi. This doesn't count the two at J7: Jokoryu's 3-12 might be enough for a demotion but Kyokushuho's 6-9 would be harsh to knock him out of the salaried ranks.
  11. I assume he won't keep his rank; just trying to guess where he'll come back. I make that 0-0-15 for two tournaments at Ozeki, one as a Sekiwake. From there, I imagine mid-to-upper Maegashira to upper Juryo, and then down to around the lower Juryo to upper Makushita ranks? Abi came back from his ban at Ms56, and while I don't think he'll be that low because he started higher than Abi, he probably won't getting a haircut for his first tournament back.
  12. I recall a quote I had in my sig for a while from, I believe @Brian Fowler(but I could be wrong,) that went "Basketball doesn't need less flopping, it just needs more blading"
  13. I just wanted to point out that every time I saw Michael Buffer do ring announcements for WCW, he biffed at least one name. Nothing says Gravitas like getting a guy in who won't get people's names right.
  14. There was a lot to like about that time in NXT. Tye Dillinger was a goofy midcarder, doing goofy midcard things and giving him the #10 spot was a fun nod to the decent (if maybe not spectacular,) work he was doing. One of the major differences between the NXT of a few years ago and the NXT of today is that things didn't seem to overstay their welcome quite as much. Between the one hour of TV, Takeovers limited to the weekend of a Big Four PPV, and people moving on to bigger and better things the main roster; people could come in, have a long, sensibly booked feud or two, and then move on with their lives. It helped that the big matches delivered. Then Adam Cole happened.
  15. I'm quite partial to this one, but only because of how little it seems to have been paraphrased.
  16. I said when Crawley got his two hundred, I'll say it again now: winning is for footballers.
  17. I can't stay up for them on my own, so when I do, it's always because I'm at someone else's house watching it, so getting back home is always more of an adventure than it needs to be, too. However, today being a Bank Holiday helps a lot. As does Full Gear being a Saturday. Might have to give All Out a swerve though. Just realised I missed my overall conclusion: I went to some effort to watch this show, and don't feel gypped.
  18. I stayed up until 5am to watch this live, haven't slept much this morning, so excuse me if this isn't the most coherent post on the boards today. I don't know why the Bucks ever thought they could pretend to be likable. I'm still not sure whether I want them to be champions (or even on TV,) but they are a billion times better as heels. I do maybe feel like Kingston and Mox should have gone over, but I do get this sense that they want their tag champions to be a "real" tag team. Battle Royale was alright. Possibly getting into the realm of Fantasy Booking here, but Lio Rush strikes me as the final form of Private Party. I would not be opposed to some sort of feud between him and Matt Hardy for their souls at some point. I would also not have been opposed to Hobbs marmalising everyone for the win, but hey ho. Jungle Boy will do. I have no idea why JR felt the need to stress the Jack that isn't in his name, though. Speaking of JR, if he ever mentions hiccups again, his broadcast colleagues (and anyone else on the planet, for that matter,) have my permission to slap him. I can't imagine that permission is worth a whole lot, but I can dream. The less said about Cody the better. Was flagging during the title match. What I saw needed more Pac, but that might have been while my eyes were fluttering. Got annoyed by the shenanigans. Is that a good thing? Hmm. I would definitely consider amending the rules to Triple Threats to say that while you can't instantly win by DQ, you can be disqualified out of them; and even potentially lose the title if it goes on to a clean finish. Enjoyed Stadium Stampede, particularly the brawly bits. I'm looking at the two big lads when I type this. Sammy with the babyface fire was a highlight, too. Whoever described Spears' bits as being like "Under Siege 3" had it spot on though.
  19. I love how Abi and Ryuden's careers are so closely linked. They broke into Makuuchi at about the same time, they debuted in Sanyaku at the same time and then when Abi does something stupid and gets demoted, Ryuden says Hold My Beer. Dickhead.
  20. Well, I'm glad they've got some use because otherwise they're the ugliest damn things I've ever seen, they look like they've been designed by a kid with a sticker book.
  21. The most Endo play imaginable is to be as much of a jackass as possible then say a total of three words through the following interview.
  22. I must say, the sullen glare at the local five-a-side pitch is a much better promo shot than this professional looking photo shoot rubbish. It doesn't solve the problem that someone else traditionally playing in a block colour is trying to zazz it up with what appears to be a camouflage pattern.
